Yeah vocals are hard. Mixing is hard. Producing is hard.
We shouldn't try to make things perfect, it just needs to be a bit better than last time. We learn and grow.
Having said that, I thought you did a great job, so there :)
Love your drummer, I'm picturing him as animal of the muppets. He's super tight, so that forms a great basis!
Then loads of powerchords and a thumping bass guitar, can't go wrong with that. At 1:26 a little reference to The Police, one of my all-time favorite bands, love that too.
It all sounds like you guys played it pretty much live (or live in separate takes) and it has bucket loads of energy. Love it! Cheers from East London!
I always get mad at myself when I miss comments. How'd I miss this one? Anyway thanks bro, I haven't seen ya around the community lately, I hope you're doing well.
I think you have a good start there! See if you can find an acapella that fits it? Maybe you'll need more of a chorus but I don't think that should be a problem.
The only other thing I would look at is the "drums"; see if you can find a less electronic sample - that might fit your track better.
Good luck Majid, always enjoy hearing your tracks, keep working on them!
My dear B Hello.
Thanks for the comment and the pointer mate.
As you know drum machines are so synthetic and no matter how you compensate the mix still sounds out of the place.
Me, I cannot play the drums to save my life.
Thanks for thew visit mate.
Maj
You made a good track with it! There's a bit much processing on the acapella (I think most of that was already in the original I saw) but the overall result is just really good. You also mixed it well and fit the vocal nicely into the mix.
Well done!!
Thank you for the feedback! I had fun with this one and I feel like my skills are improving. I struggled with the vocals a bit. If I try to tame the vocal it ends up sounding muffled.
That's very beautiful man. I think if you want you can make it even more compelling by pushing the drums a bit more in the background (especially the metallic snare sound) and instead lifting the "string" synths. Maybe some reverb/delay too?
But that's details, this is already very pretty!
Thx BaoBou for listening and the feedback.
Don't forget that mixing is subjective and a preference, sometimes things are meant to be felt and not necessarily heard, raising the strings would change the whole depth of the mix. Remember, front to back, and side to side. There's plenty of reverb and delay too. If I took them off, you would really hear the difference..(felt not heard) but I do love the critique of the track, nice to see what someone else would have done differently.
I live JVKE, whenever boring old people (of my age) say there's no "good music" anymore I point to people like him (and Billy Eilish and a host of other great young artists).
This is a very interesting track - short, but it keeps me hungry for more.
Happy birthday!!
I also agree good music is not dead. I feel like music is art that's constantly evolving throughout time, even today, so many big, young artists sample/remix old classics. I think it's a great way to preserve music.
Nice track, bouncy as always! I think you could make it even better with some more build-up or variation, although I can hear you already tried to do that (there are some interesting melodies in the background). Good job!!
Very spooky.
The intercepted calls are so saddening. The massive destruction, death and terror in Ukraine, and the Russian conscripts who never wanted to be there and only serve as cannon fodder anyway. Disaster.
Very impressive track my friend!
Putin's "special operation" is the biggest fiasco of this century. There's no telling when it's going to end, but it'll end badly for Russia. Thank you for listening & commenting. I appreciate it.
I like the username :) it's I, complex and imaginary all at the same time!
Good start of the track, and nice and chill. I'll be interested to see if you take it further!
I like the piano loop, I like the drum, I like the guitar... But they don't seem to fully cooperate yet. Maybe it's on purpose but they each seem to follow their own speed/rhythm.
See if you agree and whether you can align it more, that would (to me anyway) be even more chill :)
Good luck!
That's a very sweet clarinet! I think that's the basis of a cool track. I also really like what you do around 0:50 although that could come a bit earlier, but then I think after this you need a variation to keep the interest of the listener.
See what you can do, I like it!
It has a very good beat, but the distortion is too much for my ears. I think I would like it a lot more with a lot less compression (or maybe it's your limiter) and more headroom. See if you agree?
Good luck, I think you got a real thumper here!
That's very good! And yes, that invites some singing, doesn't it? (Although you may need to change the arrangements a mod to make space for lyrics).
Great job!
Holy crap, that is an AWESOME track. I'd call it trip-rock more than triphop but who cares about style? You have a style, and it works. Really, REALLY good, and I rarely say that. Pro stuff.
Thanks for posting it here my friend! Fav'ed!
hi baobou !! thx a lot for wrote me ..... i am very happy that you feel this track !! sorry for the name style !! i didn t know which one is it? trip hop ... trip rock ..... chill ;)
see you
That's a fun track! Around 1:08 there's a bit weird moment, as if you had 2 sections that don't fully connect. See if this is something you intended, or else maybe you can find a way to make it more natural?
Good luck!
Lovely. That's a fantastic vocal too.
There's something funky at the end though, after say 2:52. The outro is a bit weird, and then there's 1.5 minute of silence it seems? I would consider taking the last 8-16 bars of the chorus and repeating it with a fade out, or using the vocal for a proper ending.
Good luck man, lovely track!
I think we have a similar approach to music. I like it, I think most of this is real live instruments (electronic drums maybe, but played live?), your real voice without too much processing (and what a voice it is man). Awesome.
One tiny thing is that your vocal, as great as it is, is a bit too loud in the mix. IF you reduce that a bit it will be even more pleasant.
Great song, looking forward to your album. Feel free to spam me when it's out!
Hiyas!!!! Thanks so much for comment/compliment. I am happy you enjoyed the track. You have got great ears! Yes, All instruments are red except for the drums. As far as the mix.. that is the product of a person (me...lol) who isn't very proficient with DAWs. I dabbled just enough to get it loaded up here for my fellows' perusal. The "real" mix will be in the hands of a pro. I'll definitely keep you posted.

That would be great Thank you.
Would like the Stems as a row unprocessed or consolidated HQ track. Please let me know.
Many thanks

Yeah, actually I first did that, but the extra 8 with the same vocal variations was even funkier ;) I wish there was another chorus but...
