Thanks my friend - I bounced the midi tracks to audio in mixing so I cant double check but I think all the drum and percussion sounds come from Akai kits. Lately I seem to have half a dozen drum or percussion tracks with maybe 1 or maybe up to 4 or 5 elements in the one track. Less gives more control over the sound but is fiddly hey. Then I usually treat them differently (fx's, or sculpting the sound) before mixing - I think this one has some delay on the snare dominant track and that gives it more of rolling sound. I must admit I dont really know what Im doing so it's trial and error : )

Do you mean the bass with the legato slide, or the clav (stevie wonder one - mid-bass which provides the off-beat bass pass ). I think the latter.

We are not sure at this point what other instrumentation we might add to Ed's composition at this point. We are toying around with a few ideas. Glad you enjoyed the track, and happy you've fav'd it.

You're right about the intro. Once vocals are added, I typically do a Rammstein-like talk-over for the begging with a single word or two. I do this to build the assault of the main verse. The song did originally start where you said :D. I'll take it aboard to start it there if the first part with vocals sucks. Typically I start all my songs in such a way. Here's an example you have to search it on youtube: Som Quatre Potes - cançó protesta igualtat l’accés l’espai públic amb gos - Xarn Ego. There's also Pixapins on the same channel which does the same. The rest of the songs are on hold with the Mastering producer.

ive tweaked the vocals down thank you bro, the haters were the people in my last company, thought i was finished, not me, out performed them all and got a great job and an extra 15 bags for the pleasure, im smiling :))

That's right, the voices aren't catalan, they're from the people we met on vacation. My main concern was capturing the mood of the moments there. And it's only called Bonastre because I have a special connection to this place...
