very cool. it sounds to me a bit like there's too much of sequencing in here, especially on the second part of the song.
Maybe I just want the track to flow more smoothly but that's only a personal preference of course.
Really nice work. I enjoyed it. Alex
Yeah this kinda working style was a bit new to me, I have never used so many diffrent samples in one track.
Still I am happy with the results though :D
Thanks for the feedback!
very cool indeed. really nice work with the loops. It starts off as smooth jazz/rnb but I really liked that funkstep after then.
The last section (from 3:40) stands out a bit though. You might simply repeat that section from 1:28 again instead introducing a new material. Maybe it is just me but some melodies there don't fit the jazzy convention at all.
Overall the track sounds really great. Congrats. Alex
My intention was to leave the strings in the last part and it sounded good but it just didnt have the flair i was looking for. I came up with that lead and tried to leave the strings in with it and it just sounded way to muddy. lol you have me rethinking my ending now. Thx for the good words man !
ok, I tried many times and at least I played it in its entirety, unfortunately with some unexpected slience breaks between the 7/8 and 21/16 grooves. I couldn't get too much into that distortion gradation, probably because I am producing slightly different stuff at the moment but at some point I can hear some scottish influences in here. Experiments are good.
I can't see any significant variations in the volume range almost throughout, not a big insight though. I am sorry for a comment in negative, other than that's an interesting and unusual piece. Best, Alex
First off, never apologize for a negative review. You have a right to dislike anything you want. If I'm horrible, and nobody tells me, I will continue to be horrible. Your honesty helps.
"I tried many times and at least I played it in its entirety, unfortunately with some unexpected slience breaks between the 7/8 and 21/16 grooves."
I have no idea what this means. Is the music player here putting pauses in the track? I just listened to it here and there were no gaps.
Or, was the track so bad that it took several goes to finish without retching?
"I couldn't get too much into that distortion gradation, probably because I am producing slightly different stuff at the moment"
Right-on. Does that mean since you're doing very different music, you dislike what is unlike your present creations? I guess I don't understand. No matter how soft a track I'm doing, I still love Mudvayne's L.D.50.
"at some point I can hear some scottish influences in here"
I'm guessing that's the fiddle line. I've had several tracks that I wanted to use fiddle in, but this one seemed the most fitting.
"I can't see any significant variations in the volume range almost throughout"
Agreed. I guess you don't like the lack of dynamics. The waveform looks like a flat-faced eel with a fish-tail. I didn't intend to give this one any room to breathe. That's partly why it is so short. My last track was slow and soft. I wanted the opposite in this one.
Thanks for the review! I hope all is well with you.
hi. I really liked what you did with these vocals they fit perfectly just like that in here. The liquid piano sound is very cool as well as soft mellow strings. Really nice piece. Alex
hi. I love that background ambiances. A truly funky groove, it sounds very tribal at parts even. Definitely a tropical track. I can recognize Janis's vocals at 0:25.
Very cool and creative work, congrats. Alex
Hey thanks Alex! Appreciate the comment and showing the love for this track. Yep...that definitely is Janis voice at the beginning. I feel like a jerk that I forgot to give her props. :( Anyway thanks for the listen. Peace
nice work musicante. I like that bassline and the sound of drums. sax line was very enjoyable too. Solid production of 'smooth jazz'. I really like that. Best, Alex
I love that warm Rhodes in the background. Very cool vocals as well.
It sounds a bit like a sketch, maybe it is a bit too short but
still really nice work. I enjoyed it. Alex
Traditional blues verses are most common in twelve bar blues with the characteristic repeated first line.
Blues songs are by no means all sad I think. Many of these traditional lyrics are salacious.
Other lyrics tell of violence and an unhappy romance.
Many others detail the miseries of life. Some lyrics crop up in song after song
Floating lyrics have been described as lines that have circulated so long in folk communities that tradition - steeped singers call them instantly to mind and rearrange them constantly, and often unconsciously, to suit their personal and community aesthetics
Just to let you know.
Thanks so much for some constructive replies. It means a lot.
Still looking forward to hear your song.
12 bars are for mathematicians. The blues is different. The blues comes from picking cotton, not counting bars. It's about making contracts with the devil.
Lyrics are overrated. "You better come out in my kitchen, it's going to be raining outside" - what's that all about? I got no idea! Lyrics are suspicious, I prefer text2speech software when comes to words!
However, I hope this is no spoiler, I did not use any lyrics on this track, but rather tried to give it a complete mojo injetion based on arousing guitars.
One day you will listen to this cute little masterpiece and the whole universe of music will unveil to you. Halleluja, brother!

listen Zank, youre really annoying me with your replies.
I instantly wanted to learn how to make a proper meat loaf when you said that.

I'm a bit of a hesitator and that's no real email adrees. you just punched your keyboard. Maybe I will write you in the future, do you know how to make a proper meat loaf?
Truly Zank, that's some nice way to bump up my track on the very top of a list.
I am jealous of the fact that you're getting so many comments. I wish I could get them so easily.
You could create a double login and celebrate you, for example pomgeranate2239. You (pomegranate) could point out how outstanding clever your (promenade) track is any you reply in a kind fashion to yourself and so on. Obviously everybody does this here. The bots do the downloads, the double login the comments .
hey Zank, this on sounds to me like combo of early Shoenberg and late Taneyev but for this tutorial, let's leave title blank so that it doesn't show in front end. Well, I still have my reservations about the wisdom of that decision Zank but it's done, so let's leave it. They do introduce a key motif. But Ruth isn't safe at all at this point.
Also it is at this point that, with no aspiration towards originality, I want to bring in ..
The premise is that the point-after has become pointless. ... I'm in the minority perhaps, but I hope this is one rules debate that goes nowhere ...
A profound statement, I agree and disagree at the same time, but not to equal amounts. Too bad, I was aiming for Berg and Bartok - close, but no cigar!
hi. People leave comments here simply because they WANT SOMETHING. That might sound strange but it is true. I also produce and upload tracks and comments cause I want something.
I have some serious problem each time when playing tracks on the site. Cant remember that last one I heard as an entire song. Other sites seem to work smoothly though. It is because I try too much. Sometimes I can download the track if allowed. Being on the site is a hard work.
This is all driven by the future outcome. So called Me Ego.
Nothing wrong with that. Again I am sorry for sounding so spiritual. Just reading the comments below. Does not matter if the track is good or not good. Who cares.
Definitely your track is very unique, I need some more time to fully appreciate it.
Btw maybe you could tell me how to upload more tracks here. I saw SJ has over 130. Probably it is only for some commercial reason. I am just curious, I do not think that I will possibly get more exposure (and produce better music) when uploading more tracks, it sounds silly.
Best, Alex
Hey, sorry I didn't reply publicly until today, I've gotten behind on replies due to my projects mostly. I know what you mean regarding the "WANT SOMETHING" idea. Honestly, I'm almost disappointed when people don't want something. I don't mind thinking that someone is just commenting on my track so they can get a comment back. Sometimes the person's songs aren't my kind of thing, but I return the favor any way. Sometimes though, I end up hearing something excellent that I may not have otherwise. Not sure about other sites, I guess I use Soundcloud on occasion... but there, things get some attention for about a day or two, and then nothing. Here, as long as one stays active and involved, then you will most likely get a lot of good feedback. I appreciate your comment, even though it confused me slightly. Thank you!
yes it is a bit minimalistic meaning you seem to operate only a few elements in here but overall it is a really enjoyable beat. You can always add more elements or variations to the track if you like. Best, Alex
hey, this one sounds very similar to your other nice chillout 'Waves'. I really like the way how you operate filters and huge reverbs on both tracks. Simply very pleasant and enjoyable sounds to listen to. Keep up the productions!
Alex
hi FR. bass groove is really cool here - it's something like a combination of a bass guitar and a clavinet. It makes my body moving which is great. Tasteful usage of loops as always!
