Thanks Jamid, recorded in the cemetary next to the swamp ;) LOL! Loving playing these 3 string cigar box guitars! I'm going to get an album together and think this is a great opening track, like walking into the swamp.

Wow Burt...swampy as it gets! The cinematic opening puts me right there in the center. Fantastic environmental effects....everything is so real!
Guitars are splendid again even though I would put them a tad lower in the mix, particularly the main one, but that's just personal preference and so it's no big deal....all in all fabulous work and production !

Big compliments_____Orlando

Real field recordings used from freesound, I love how it puts you right there while safely NOT there hahaha! Yeah that lead is a tad too loud, I'll have to adjust that. I'm going to make a better video instead of just a still frame picture. Loving this swampy slide guitar playing, never got it down on a six string. Thanks Orlando :D Watch out for those man eating leaches! They'll suck you dry if the mosquitoes don't carry you off first!

Never been to the deep south but have read extensively about it. The Grateful dead said in the 60's it was one scary place! I've been as far south as North Carolina, too hot, muggy and busy for me!! We have a swamp out back, does that count? ;) Also lots of mountains like the Appalachin people. Handshake Danke.

Beautiful as always dude.

Excellent description!! There's no shortage of horrors we endure. Nature and music can be so calming and healing. I wasn't with with anything I was playing last night so thought I'd try this after seeing one on you tube done a 6 string but they kept hitting sour notes. Addicted to the beautiful sound of cbgs!!! Thanks Metabolic :p

I love CBG sound, with spoken word it felt more like an intro to a deeper song. other words for me to short. left me wanting more. love it.

Such simple, crude instruments but with such a beautiful sound!! Oh yes, I'm always left wanting more and more anytime I hear cbgs played! I can't stop building and playing them myself :p When I get an album together (free) I'll make a forum thread with a download link. There's a bunch of cbg music up on you tube too. Here's Swampwitch album to enjoy all played on cbgs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDRQtBVMmI8

Thanks Orlando :p These guitars are very special being they're one of a kind handmade, not mass produced like so many overpriced ones. I LOVE spoken word with music!! So powerful. I really need to properly mix/master this. I'd like to make a cbg album for free download with this song along with some more unpublished material. I found Snowflake's and MissJudged pellas available for use on another site with the requirement to credit and link back, no problem since it's a pleasure to use such great works in my own stuff.

To me as well this sound familiar, yet I'm sure it simply that CBG tone, which seems hard to avoid. I'm enjoying this sort of spoken word, which remind me of many classic psychedelic rock groups of yore. I surely understand the pitfalls of recording guitar such as this, and I think as it stand, you have done great work! I've actually been playing guitar again lately, after finding a Pod 2.0 for ten dollars a couple days ago. Spent this morning, between 5 AM and sunrise, practicing with my Hohner six string in the indo room. It seemed to transform my soldering iron burns into callouses very quickly. I think it helped the plants too. Had to kick the cat out of the room, though, since she like to chew on wires when I'm paying attention. Can't believe that she's not kitty flambe at this point. Listing to this again... it's quite groovy in a blues form. I think blues is something which I'll have to get past my obsessiveness to appreciate or perform fully. You obviously are past that. I appreciate that. Thank you for the inpiration. Fave!

I absolutely love that lo fi cbg tone! Just built a 3 string fretless olive oil can guitar today out of all found materials except the strings and tuners. Really loud acoustically, tuned open D, D A D, for a different tone then the usual open G, GDG. This is played on my 3 string fretted cookie tin guitar made with a 64 oz. Danish butter cookies tin, oak neck. Originally was for the school but I like it too much so I ordered more fretwire to make them another, the music teacher just laughed and said that's cool, the kids will love it when you bring it in. Also ran into the maintenance director of the high school when I came out of our little hut/workshop at the dump with my newest build, he got really happy saying he'd just taken up guitar. Good, you'll get one too for the high school :p I play through guitar rig 5 on my computer, that's a damn good price for a pod 2!! Jealous. Addicted to these 3 stringers! I want to make an electric diddley bow to jam on too. I have one with a piezo but magnetic pickups sound so much cleaner. Cat's can't seem to control themselves around cords, I'm constantly chasing them away. Remember National lampoons Christmas when the cat bit the christmas lights cord hahahahaha! Studies have shown plants like music, helps them grow. I got a Behringer 6 string I'm thinking I'll modify for slide since I have others for regular playing, higher action makes it easier for slide playing. Guitar can be such an expressive instrument! Thanks Spiv, lots more to come.

:p I love the pellas available there. They're all attribution, non commercial but I don't make money on music and prefer to credit the artists anyway. I'm going to have to do something with some more Lovecraft stuff. Already did one for Cthululu and Yog Sothoth. Maybe Azagthoth will be up next.

Loving the imagery of the vocals and the mournful crawl of the tin guitar in the background. Can't wait to hear what it sounds like when you've finished the mix. I predict goosebumps.

This just kind of happened hahaha I was playing with my newest toy before work and thought hey that would make a good loop. Recorded, uploaded it. Then said hey that would sound cool looped with some slide lead played over it. Then I said Hey I have those cool spoken word pellas... :D I'm going to make a video too. When I get dug out from this 3 feet of snow. Mournful crawl desribes it perfectly! Just look what us stupid humans are doing to the earth and don't even care. I don't have pics yet of the guitar yet but it,s made with one of those 64 oz Danish butter cookies tins, the large tin. Love the sound! Thanks TA

This one feels familiar to me.. I can't wait until you mix this, the vocals have so much opportunity to terrify in true Lovecraftian form.

Great work guys.

Do you ever visit ccmixter? The spoken word pella is from there, likely been used in other's songs over the years. Been so busy with work, hopefully this weekend I can properly mix this. Thanks Metabolic. Did you ever get to do anything with the rats in the walls?

Well it's time for work, gotta make a few bucks! Well it's time for work and that really sucks! I love the sound of your cigar box guitar, and your jamming's awesome. But is it done? Are you going to build it into a whole song? Would love to hear that...

I made this just before work one day hence the title ;) This is my fav cbg, I definitely need to make more with magnetic pick ups! They sound a bit more dirty with the piezo pick ups. I'm done with this except I'm going to make a video for it. I'll get some tunes on the others up as well, each has a unique sound.License plates have a bit more of a banjo sound. Finished a 3 string cookie tin guitar for the local school, next up is that train tin :p Before Fender and Gibson there were homemade cbgs! Thanks CM :D

Cigar box guitars :D Such a simple but amazing sounding instrument! Yes, I layered a second guitar part, played on the same one though. http://imgur.com/gallery/QZBjOoT I still have these ones. The black one in the center is the one I played on here and Ghost of a guitar, my fav. Been making them for a year now, giving them away as gifts. I have more tunes on various other ones but cleaning up my page I took them down, hear some more of them here though https://www.reverbnation.com/1096781/album/117064 Once I used a violin bow on my 2 string cookie tin, who ever knew a cookie tin could make sounds like that!! Thanks CitizenMofo, more homemade guitars and music played on them in the works.

I love the sound of those guitars!!! Any wonder I've become addicted to building/playing them?! :D I know I have that free album from cigar box nation saved on my music player, can't seem to find the post on there, but I'll upload it to mediafire and share it with you. You tube is loaded with videos of people playing cbgs. Justin Johnson is one amazing player I bet you'd love. Shane Speal is considered the king of them, Samantha Fish (incredibly soulful!) the queen. This tune by Red dog Guitars I love! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wz5wMGovkuQ Nothing like the real raw blues played on handmade instruments. :D Check out the site in the description, 3 string dot com for some history and info, fascinating really. I made a 3 string cookie tin guitar for the elementary school I work at now, just need to string it and some minor tweaks to set it up. Hoping to deliver it to the music teacher this week. :p How about Billy Gibbons of ZZ top on one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHzeNW_nJVY Enjoy :D

p.s. If you do build one they're more addicting than crack!!

I see you already have the Zep comparisons PK...both vocals are well done...fit nice...Ocean has great vocal character for this kind of mix (and a lot of others too I guess)....This just kind of floats you along for a great ride...I like the guitars of course...Really superb job my friend...big well done to both of you..I`ll be hitting the fav button when it hits the last note....Ed

Oh yes the great Zeppelin :p I wasn't even thinking of them when recording this. I LOVE Ocean's voice!! The voice of an angel, just like Joan Baez. I know she's on a break pursuing other artistic excursions. I'm making a video for this, floating along like in a dream, great description. Thanks Ed :D You mean the last snore? hahaha Here's some more CBG Albums (not me) for you to enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDRQtBVMmI8 I'm looking for another that's a free download from Cigar box nation(dot)com. My username is the same on there but need to get more current pics up. I gave a way alot of the guitars I've made, kept my favs. I'm getting there, just cleaned up my page here now to get some albums together.

How's it going Orlando? :D Transferring my music software onto my new desktop after 4 computers failed this week!! It's ok. they've been ressuscitated many times over. This is one gem I never posted. I'd love to share it with Ocean but deleted my soundcloud account. I'm cleaning up my mess of a page here so there'll be alot more unreleased material to be up over the next month. I know I have another 'pella from her to work with too. Isn't it funny how subconciously our musical influence come through :p Grew up on all those classic bands like the great Zepppelin and many not so well known metal and blues artists.
