Hey splish, to be honest this is not really my scene but I like listening to all music. What I like is that you give the track room to breath. It fills out with some quirky sounds. nice job. mik
Raw track dude.....I like anything with a bit of Stevie in it....Im new on here and will be adding tracks soon....Just a little more depth on the high hats and snare sounds would do it for me tho....B Safe.....
I gotta admit, I can't really comment on the grime aesthetics because I don't much about grime. But I do know Minnie Ripperton and I love what you did with this. It's always a risk trying your hand at a classic but you pulled it off well, sir. The tempo and arrangements on the drums were great and that melody really fit the soothing tones of Minnie's voice. Like the little freakout on the vox around the 3 minute mark too. Good track all around, man. Props.
Eh, Blunt- I've noticed that too coz it's happened to me a few times (mostly when I qual check listen to my tunes upon upload). Dunno what to say there.
This is a cool tribute. The game soundy blips add a nice touch and the header of this came from the way ya made the bass sound. Rawk on homie!
Thanks D..haven't been around too much lately..but when Lee came back it just had to be done..quite surprised as well because the inspiration came so suddenly...any way thanks for the review!
The drumwork, specifically the hats and the way you faded in and out of the transitions in this track definitely remind me of a Blunted track. I really like what you did melodically with this...that Pacman beep-boop was the bee's knees.
This may not make sense but instead of taking me somewhere, this track felt like it just sat me down and brought somewhere right before my eyes for 4.5 minutes.
Great demonstration of patience. The track builds up in a very subtle fashion before you bring the bass in and let it take off. Keep working on this, you're off to a good start.
Thanks JR! I do like the way I've done the intro..I'm gonna leave this track for a little bit until I come up with something really good...cheers for the review!
NIce one Splish, I feel like diggin out my N64...you could do a whole CD on retro arcade type tracks, millions of cool sounds to match - Defender has lots. As for this track - I like it. Good work. peace.
Hey, I just wanted to letcha know that I'm inviting someone else in on this. AcidParadox made a post about lookin for some collabs n I made mention of this track.
(looks down @Baracasa with a crooked eyebrow, but Wolfishly smiles at the same time)
I think this one sounds like a Ridge Racer type menu track. Very contemporary and very electro. Yea not rap or hip-hop, but definately some kick a** tune. pUsH
Before I start to comment. Alright, lemme play that again...
The intro kinda reminds me of 2 things. Water cascading out of a fountain and then being lifted up by something. Like riding on an escalator, wait, more like walking up it (to go faster). The drums are tight when they finally take off fully they sound somewhat retro. The bass only adds to that, but the melody parts kinda detract from that and give it a dreamy cinematic feel. Sorta remindin me of that level from the PS game Omega Boost where the mech is travelling down that shaft.
Maybe with the introduction of the different synth parts near the end you could do a brief fade out/abrupt re-introduction. Starting with the drums and then leveling down the volume on the bass until it's almost completely gone. Just what I was thinkin the last time I played it. Lengthwise, maybe stretch it out to around just shy of 4 minutes? Off for now. Lates!
Had this piece playing as I worked in the studio. Had a smile on my face the entire time.
Weirdly cool.
Slightly twisted.
Refreshing.
Nice work.

Hey Splish cool start..seeing as this is mostly mid-range frequencies..I'd be looking to add some high end stuff..the mood and direction are great!..cheers planet :)
Ooh thanks PJB..Yeah I'm starting to learn a lot more about frequencies and the EQ and stuff, so hopefully working on this one will show what I've learned...thanks for the review!
Feels like i am playing nintendo with this track, the beat is really stylish too,the 2nd synth sounds like a detuned ice cream man song lol its awesome

The bleeps/bloops were from a plugin that we share and I thought I'd throw it in there...I think he uses it in "Provoked"..
Anyway cheers for the review!
