Well, this just happens to pop up in the featured list.
Sounds like you have a one man band here with all the different instruments going on and vocals too.
24 tracks, is a lot. I can do up to 32 tracks, but I don't think I have gone over 16...and that was in my country-Cajun song.
Sounds like you found a great groove in your life with this tune. I see there is one more song you uploaded since this, but I happened to catch this one.
So I can only say, this is a first class production! Keep up the great work and play what you want to play.... whatever makes you happy. That's what I do.
GSN...is my favourite channel,I'm welding my browser to this frequency...Way cool dude!
It's interesting listening to the Horn section being used in the more traditional role as a chorus ensemble..I just love the emphasis this brings to a track..nothing beats that "Big Band" sound.....I have to comment on the production...it's "Cooking"...having 24 track's in the mix is amazing, especially as there's absolutely no frequency saturation...the delineation is superb..this is one huge sound!.....Multi tracking I think has finally found it's 'golden example'....this really is brilliant work...cheers mate! :)
Hi Dave, thanks for the positive feedback. I'm just so pleased people like the sound and style of this GSN project. I am in the process of re-mastering the tracks using T-Racks 2.0 (what a program!). I've found the stereo enhancer patch just right to boost and and add sparkle. The one you heard was straight from ableton (what a fantastic program), but I'm trying to get the best results I can with what I've got now (thanks to you). Do you use T-racks much? I'm just getting in to it (bloody fantastic). Just imagine how much studio time it would have taken to get this results, let alone how much! Over the years I have spent some money in studios, and didn't get results close to this. Thanks for your time and continuing support...
its even better the second time, so when can we buy it to help in your bail out plan, lol. I'm serious I will pay for this track, its like heroin don't listen to twice or your doomed, masterpiece.
this is a download, great production as usual, use to Play Ghost Town all the time as a DJ early 80's and Do the Dog, and Gansters and Message to Rudy even Free Nelson Mandella (it worked, lol), love and respect that band and you carry on the spirit keeping it alive today, more personal note I have a Track called Rock-et-Fuel (rockabyllie burner) that begs for your sax, its a short track in the spirit of the time but ita has room upfront for you if you like it and it talks to you and your sax and you want to talk back.
Hi Big P, sounds like you & I have the same taste!
I would love to play on this track. I will contact you through your page tab. When you send the song make sure to let me know the tempo...
You have soul my friend, and it shows brillantly on this track, now I know why your harmonica loops sound so good, soul is the hearth of music, without it its only notes. Well done would love to collaborate with you, on sll my tracks I leave s lot space for melody, theres a lot of room to improvise. Really enjoyed the relaxing moment you provided me.
Hi Big P,thanks for dropping by and giving this one the Big P once over. I can't help but notice you display a new pic every other day of you and someone else in a smiling pose. Why don't you load these in your gallery with them named, the other day it looked like you and J lo. If it was nice 1...
The bass intro does seem a bit drawn out. The rest of the arrangement sounds like its comeing together pretty well. I definitely has some Jamaican influence. Little bit of funk with some reggae. Good luck guys. And I'm rootn' for you all the way.
How good is this!...People that work in chicken factories by and large don't eat chicken...my point being they don't bring their work home with them....Whereas you being a professional musician also have music as your passion...that is an amazing combination and we here at the loop are lucky to hear and experience it first hand....A beautiful track with soul..this stuff just seems to flow out of you..excellent singing that segues into a tasty guitar solo...but when that soprano horn starts all glasses are put down...I do believe that is one of the best introductions I've ever heard of an instrument, all the ground work and preparation for it's arrival almost make it majestic.....simply World class playing......cheers mate :)
Hi Dave, I love chicken! We do a lot of weddings and parties with Jump the Q, anyway there's usually a buffet. After the guests have done their bit, it's then the bands turn to finish it off. One night I ate a whole platter of chicken, there must of been 30 legs, and I ate them all! I felt like Henry the 8th, there I was sat in this wonderful hotel being paid a fair whack, full as a gun. The only problem was this was between sets!!! As you can imagine, my playing in the second set was somewhat foul lol...
actually, have an updated version [better] ill upload 2nite
its basic but allows for everyone to build on it. wasnt sure what i was allowed to use and assume only what is in "slaps magic bus" thread...band mates. do i have this correct? lol
This sounds almost as if the Bass was recorded live. I also love the fact that it's solo intro is super long. I think some of the best songs are done that way. Like with my remix of DJ Krush if you were to listen to the original it's kinda done the same way with the build up on that one. Anyways, nicely done guys! I can't wait to see how this developes. Later on!
I just cant put my finger on who your voice reminds me of- But I will let you know one day!! Excellent all the way around. I like the way you do your drums with sonic foundry! The horns took me back the Stax Records Memphis days!! Excellent workk!!
Nice change of direction from your recent upbeat ska projects, this one is very laidback and kinda mellow. Everything sounds great, solos are amazing.
Great song as always Slap, I'd like to hear more from you in this style.
Really love the intro at the start, it kicks off the song well. You've really got me hooked on Ska now, everything about it is great, very upbeat and happy. Your playing is perfect as always and the singing is great too.
Great work as always Slap.
Hey Slap, well since I ve been away for a while I did nt realize that you had been doing some Ska. This is excellent. Its has all the elements. Sax, Harp and flute solos what a joy. Better than Alka seltzer for my hangover cure. As usual top class. Hope all is well with you and Alex. Mik
