I agree with other comments that this could do with more low end and depth.
Otherwise, it's fairly badass and dirty, as is your usual style. Some decent solid drum grooves and extra little fills here and there, which make a difference.
1:11 now that's d'n'b. Nice flip into double time. Psychedelic lead is quite trippy there.
1:41-1:51 is some skilful manoeuvring of sounds to return to the earlier theme.
This would be a good weird soundtrack for a film. Or a weird late night druggy track for anyone still left in the club or mashup drug party...
Agreed, there's a lot more to do with this, I'm trying out a new method of creating bass sounds. I want the low end to lie in the bass leads, working on it :) fa
I'm making this for a gig I'm playing on Halloween
Agreed, more sections, a little more cohesion too.. I've been trying but there's so much in the low end adding more massively screws the mix, I'll keep experimenting.
Listened once it was ok. Listened twice while messed up and gaming, f*cking crazy dude....lol. If you threw a hard bassline in there it would be awesome! Just my opinion tho. Keep it up bro
Peace

Wow. I just listened to your track and I feel really pissed off. If the purpose of music is to transfer emotion from the artist to the listener, then you get a 10 out of 10. Good job man. Great track.
This was a great story telling process. The construction of the song was excellent. In my opinion, it is certainly ready for a gig performance. You captured my like on this track.

Also, when you get the chance check out some of my tracks, and leave some feedback. Hopefully you like what you hear.
Damn, this is super creepy in a good way! Very mid nineties to my ears, which can't be bad! I probably shouldn't ask how pornographic this session got... ha ha. I can't tear myself away from the malt liquor and vegan eggplant sausage curry to get headphones, but I will fave this so I can find it again! Very cool and intriguing!
War, when is it coming? War by computer, destroy the infrastructure using code. starve the people by decimating the digital experience. You have captured that here.

The intro really spoke to me! I'm not one who listens to industrial but this was quite an entertaining listen! I like the changing patterns and BPM, really told a story using such strange effects. The highs were a bit harsh, as others have mentioned; this is my only critique of the song. The structure and the story, everything was done well. Great work! Thumbs on this one. You're pretty good at this stuff, if I may so myself.
What I like about this is you didn't take the route of sound effects like helicopters and machine guns men screaming etc. Easy to do that way but not as artistic.
You took the artistic route and painted the mood and the place without recourse to that. Nice angry feel to it.
There's room for some blood to spilled now I think .....
Was that a serious response? I ask because, I also deal with cunts on a regular basis. If you are being defensive regarding my discussion of the guitar recording, then I can not understand that. I complimented your skill, and that was sincere. I complimented the exercise in classical playing, and that was sincere. I asked about the recording, because I was sincere in wanting to know how this became hot. No insult was intended, but only mutual communication and learning. I apologize if I unintentionally hurt your feelings.
More of a deflated, I can't be bothered with this, response..
I can't tell if your comments are sincere when followed by "I don't usually expect auditory pain" kind of comments.. I interpreted an amount of bitchiness, imagine a high school queen commenting on some girl's nice hair only to disarm her for a coming insult or a boss coming at you with the dreaded "compliment sandwich" XD
I wouldn't say I'm becoming defensive, you are the only person who riles me up in such a way.
Clearly, meaning has been misunderstood.. Forgive me.
As to your question: I recorded a somewhat cheap twelve string (with only six strings :D) with a Behringer B2-pro via a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, in very unfavourable recording conditions. From the exception of reverb there was no mixing involved. Mic settings: High pass filter and -10db switched on and omni-direction switched off. It may be worth noting my mic stand is a tall lamp combined with parts of a TV mounting kit, a walking crutch and some duct tape.
I don't normally listen to industrial like this but I like it.
Maybe I would suggest using some limiting or compression to tone down those highs a bit. Also, I would add something more bassy and flat, without a lot of trebble attack. I think the music has too much highpitced sounds all the time, could have less, be more dynamic. Just my opinion though.
Keep it up man :)
I enjoyed your playing in this, and it definitely shows skill. I too love playing classical guitar, especially now that I have one again. I am wondering how you recorded this, as the guitar sounds very "hot." I don't usually expect auditory pain when hearing a classical guitar piece, so it made me wonder. All in all a cool exercise!
there is a lot of power in music both to purge our own frustrations and to effect change in the world. this could very well be an anthem for the true uprising against the waves of violence rocking the world right now. Civilized society understands restraint - but there is power in restraint. I feel restraint as well as power in your driving track. Fav. Dan
Thank you Dan, I couldn't agree more... It probably took you no more than five minutes to listen and comment but what you wrote has given me a perspective that will last a lifetime. This is why I love music (and musicians!). Many thanks :)
Man, this is some track! I agree with Danke, I would think it's Industrial, but on the other hand who cares for tags and clarifications? Even if there was no description from you I can sense the anger and frustration, so you did a good job in transforming this via electronic music, which is much harder than when you play a stringed instrument for instance. Hope you feel better now, too.
Hahhh...what a dangerous and special track (maybe just for me, cause I donno dnb) but I feel it's a special segment of that style...it easily could be industrial or weird too...the frustration is of course there after a terror attack like that...no comment...
Nah I'm joking.. Don't do drugs... Honestly dude I haven't the faintest idea... I just do, it comes out... My approach? Heavy metal is dead, time to bring the heavy music into the future.. A more technical answer, lots of experimentation, automation, rule breaking and above all ya just gotta feel it man.. Thanks for listening it's much appreciated :)
Timestamp: Starts off wormish, then nyinging at 10 or 11 seconds in, then again later, and briefly again way later. This is wicked in headphones. People are gonna be like "WTF does this dude keep talking about nying nyings for?"
First, just tell me what you used and some GOOD hints. haha.
I don't want my nying nying to sound just like your nying nying....caveman style here. As I butcher it, it will hit you up if it goes way off course. You can just email if you want. The nying nying is obviously top secret commando shit!
Only for the pros.. I couldn't begin to comprehend my own work flow, I just do... Timestamp this Nying Nying and I'll send you an email with an approximated recipe.
Congrats on being the first person in history to ever say their mix is too loud. HAHA
The direct monitoring switch basically controls recordings going through a microphone. It bypasses the whole computer latency through the daw and plugins and such. In a nutshell, it picks up exactly was is being inputed without any computer involvement. It is useful when multitracking at the same time (for example a full band) without having to worry about a bunch of latency problems. Any vst fx will not be in effect while tracking. The direct monitoring is only in effect during recording, so any playback and post mixing is not effected. If I am totally wrong, hopefully I will be corrected. But yeah, nasty track!
Fuckin' A.. There's a shit ton going on here, I had to sacrifice some things for a more pleasant sounding track.. Then I thought fuck that! This needs to be heavy... Added an extra sub track around 15hz!! I know, I know but fuck human hearing XD..
That sounds reasonable although I'm confused as to why it would affect the headphone volume output? Fuck it, I'll read the manual.

It didn't feel right doing such a thing, I entertained the idea, put it into a few bars, it felt very cheap & generic so I removed it .
Even more room now it's complete! I hope you enjoy the final version :)

I agree, I always have too much high-end, I've been experimenting with how to bring it down, with moderate success, although this is a first draft..
My ears are in need of a Doctor.
Thanks for listening dude and even more for your suggestions, I'll be sure to keep them in mind when I come back to this :)

When I say microphone, the same goes for anything being directly inputted to your interface/soundcard. Mic, synth, bass whatever.
The volume difference you are hearing is your soundcard bringing down the levels of everything not being recorded/inputted at that time.
Again, it has no effect on levels within the DAW itself...so your mixes are just LOUD \m/ .. \m/
