Bravo Mark....superb job on the vocals & harmonies...and I really like the straight up accompaniment...my kind of approach when I have the dicipline to do it...This is just really good my friend...and a ton better that the so-called Christmas stuff my radio has started playing....big fav...and a big well done to you....Ed
Jamid,
TYVM and Merry Christmas.
I wrote it about 25 years ago but just recorded it in my studio; every year for the past 5 years I have meant to do it before the season but it always slipped my mind....not this year lol.
Mark.
This is awesome, grateful dead, acid trip, story book time, hollywood movie, me and my sister, a car driving through a desert, the shot zooming away from a helicopter camera, a buick riding through the Nevada desert, fear and loathing in Las Vegas, Johhny Depp and Benicio del Toro doing drugs, the sun rises and you're still awake in your hotel room, then 9 in the morning becomes 12 midday, then you finally go to sleep but only for 2 hours
I have a pretty scratched 45 rpm of Buffet's version, I've always loved this track! Overall, Sam Cooks music is great and I liked Jimmy's version and I totally forgot about Cat Steven's. The backups work, I think they could be even louder. The lead was very cool and unexpected, liked the tone and how it built up. Long live percussion instruments! Vocals are strong all through, nice job with the vox too!
Waye,
Good to see you my friend. TYVM for the cred.
Backing vocals, yeah....I played with them a lot during the mastering and finally decided to drop them into the back because I found myself listening to them and not the lead vocal line. lol
Mark.
Just Bad Ass.... Will have to play this for a few friends!! When I first seen it I was hoping it was an instrumental I could sing to.(Clapton Fan On Board) Then heard the vocals and couldn't turn it off. Awesome job!!
Awesome job on this man, an epic cover of a true classic. Guitars are super tight and sound almost note for note to the original. Love the multi track separation too. Vocal track is very good ! We used to do this song in a blues band I played in years ago. To be honest I grew to hate it, only because we played it so much. Its not one of my faves from Clapton but it is great song. It sounds so simple and clean but in reality its not all that easy to play correctly. Major props bro. Next: Crossroads or Sunshine of Your Love ?
TY. I agree with you that it isn't an easy one to play; it's very misleading that way lol.
I'm currently working on a Supertramp cover right now so no to another Clapton song at this time. Possibly in the future though.
Tyvm sir.
I really pressured myself on this on and I have never played it in my life before starting the project. The crazy thing is, it fell into place for me which made it a great experience.
Mark.
I dig this man! I've always appreciated the aspect of humor contained in your songs, though I know that it is not always meant as the focus. This one does seem like it is meant as "tongue in cheek" at least. Nothing wrong with that!
The modern instrumentation with an almost ancient composition is an interesting duality here. Gives me some parallel thoughts with one of my recent tracks, "Lain," which to me has the sort of composition you might find in a sea shanty or some sort of thing. I suppose that style was a logical progression from medieval styles.
The distorted guitar was especially stand out, both in that duality, as well as simply awesome performance by one of the best guitarists around here!
The recording and processing of your vocals seems to have also come far in recent times. It sounds cool! Though I admit to not having heard your other recent works.
It was fun to hear your latest, and I'm happy to see you around! Have a good one!
This really is surprisingly good. Very unusual type of track for Looperman. It all works perfectly.
I don't normally like your voice but it sounds great here. A nice lilting groove to the music but you did say that it's an old medieaval standard so that makes sense.
I'm not a biker and the only time I spent on bike was ended in hospital you can imagine what is my opinion about motorcycling...:-)
luckily, this is is only the protest song so I can feel that stg is different here...-.-)
very groovy music Mark...your harmonica is flying into song than those guitars are fat enough to go back in time like Steppenwolf and friends...
fantastic harmonies, great vocs, good music here...thanx for the upload...fav, dl, handshake, Danke
Anybody who has watched and remembered "Easy Rider" just has to have a close idea of the feeling even if they have never taken the journey...this one would not have been out of place in the soundtrack. Great job on the harp and as you say, the guitar tracks chug along nicely & the lead bits got that classic vibe (makes me feel like I should go dig out some of my older Steppenwolf albums)...Fab job on the guitar break at 4:00...kicks the whole thing into high gear...got the picture of the boys hitting a nice long curve All round great job on this one Mark....fav....Ed
Yo Mark, Haven't done that kind of cruising yet but I can imagine how it would go after listening here and I can appreciate the enthusiasm in your expression. Fun, powerful, and you can feel the freedom of that Highway. Great find this morning. No issues I can hear with it, as is projects the story great enough. Thank you for sharing, keep doing it! God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen uses that same Midieval Standard as do a lot of video games. The original 12 bar blues rofl.

You've surely captured the feel of riding a motorbike and the style is spot on. A great mix of southern rock and dark country if you'd ask me.
Thank you for sharing! Will add it to my playlist for sure!
