Hey Mark! Something quick and a little out of my comfort zone, reggae isn't something I play often.
All the tracks were one takes and 2 quick mixes. Little rough in spots where I could easily go back and adjust/fix but that wasn't the purpose of the song.
Jamid,
This is a gentle wisp of fresh air in a crazy world. Soothing, blissful and yet firm and strong. Very nice. We need more of this in these days.
Mark.
Thanks Mark! Jim is a big fan of Link's music so doing this song was fun to put together and arrange for me and Jim got to go nuts on a favorite song of his. Kept the drums and bass close to the original and Jim did his thang on guitars, he went nuts, ha!
Visionray,
This song is sullen and sad.
The mix is good but could I suggest lowering the piano a touch? I believe the piano part is bold enough to stand out if it were settled more down into the mix. But, just my opinion.
May I add that I enjoyed this?
Mark.
I agree about it being sullen and sad I seem to recall that was the mood I was in when I sat down to record it. I understand where you are coming from with regard to the piano and if I were to upload this song to any other sites I will definately do as you suggested.
I'm very glad that you enjoyed it. On a quick note, a producer in the US has asked to use this track in an upcoming vlog which will be out in January which is quite exciting. The link to view the trailer for the vlog is
Enjoyed this.
I agree with Danke, this track is begging for some energetic female vocals.
I like it. It's almost like Green Day meets Dream Theatre.
Mark.
MP,
This song has a serene soothingness to it. Heart felt quality vocal performance on this one, bravo.
Do I hear Celtic influence? Definitely.
I looked for lyrics but I guess you didn't post them.
The ending is very abrupt and in my opinion, the song could have been longer with a gentle fade out to match the serenity produced by this track.
Pop was probably the best choice for genre because I don't see Celtic Ambient Fusion in the drop down menu lol.
Fav'd. Top marks. I would rather hear this when I turn on my radio than some of the stuff coming out these days.
Mark.
Thank you! And likewise, I sometimes find myself preferring the rough edged amateur music over the highly polished radio offerings.
Regarding the music, it was pre-recorded by another artist ans simply ended that way, and I just rolled with it.
And the track is unfinished all round really, so the lyrics aren't properly formed, and that was simply down to the fact that the track ended so abruptly. But I enjoyed it enough to put it in my scrap book, so to speak.
And Celtic influence? It wasn't a conscious effort, but I'll go with that :)
Jamid,
Interesting track. This could be classed as Cinematic as well as Ambient. I pictured (in my mind) a robotic factory hard at work while I listened.
Mark.
Hello Mark ,
Thank you ever so much for your wonderful feedback mate.
Yes, I do agree with you It can be.
I am really glad you liked it.
Thanks again mate.
Jamid
This honestly sounds Cinematic to me. The feel of the song puts me into a feeling of expectation and bewilderment. It's an interesting number for sure.
Mark.
Hey friend, it's been a while! It's always a pleasant surprise to see you return to the Loop! What have you been up to?
Been having great fun with instrumental tone and live patching lately, it all gives me a real sense of satisfaction. Propaganda and mind control are also secondary loves of mine. So all in all this sort of song really does it for me, ha ha.
I hope that you are well! I appreciate your comment and the fave! Have a good day!
Great effort at this. I agree with Danke about the pitchiness of some parts due to the notes not always matching up. The vocals could come down in volume some as well (in my humble opinion). All together this sounds like you could be on to something. Good luck.
Mark.
Hey buddy, it's been a while! Unfortunately, this has been a ridiculously unmedicated summer and fall. Went without cannabis for the longest time in probably fifteen or so years. It has hurt really bad of course, although I have learned some things... I learned I cann't talk to people when I'm angry or ill unless I want to get charged with a crime (which I am again). I learned how to refinish old hardwood floors (which is in my Studio B and eventually the entire house). I learned how to make soymilk, nutmilk, tofu and tempeh (which has saved me a ton of money and walking or cab fare). And now, obviously, I am re-learning live band performance, but on my own. I dig much of Pink Floyd's stuff, but have never really gotten into SOAD... as far as I know, they were very popular in the time when I checked out of society and media pretty much completely (1996-2000). I think it was a good time to check out though, as I have developed very differently from my peers since then. I appreciate you stopping by my friend!
Dan,
If there were a correct genre listing for this, it would be abstract. You are an artist through and through; not only able to create art for the eyes but also for the ears. Fav'd.
Mark.
yea - maybe abstract would work. i appreciate the encouraging words - but I'm not creating the art for the eyes am I? If anything you are the one that does visual art as well as composition. by the by - look for an email from me relating to your art up on the site. Dan
And to answer you no, in fact I do search over all the internet like "how to make a good melodie" just to gave you a idea its took me 6 Hours to compose the melodie and only 1 hour for producing and mastering. And througt that I have few inspiration about classical music for the structure.
btw if its possible in the future you should call me Antonius in die tribulationis since Ant have somewat a link with a cool insect in english...
