Loving that harmonica, it won me over instantly. And the vocals work perfectly with the southern-gritty-blues vibe. Good work on the mix, there were places where the track could've easily fallen apart, but you kept it all coherent and fiendishly listenable. By coincidence, I found this tune goes well with a glass of Jim Beam. Great stuff:)

Great rhythm guitar rock based song. Big heavy chords lay a beefy foundation for the vocals. At least 3 different rhythm tracks that I can quickly pick out. They all have their place, nice mixing.

Great story song with personal lyrics. It rocks. That is always a good thing. Nice one Mark!

Hi Mark

It's always good to hear a "proper" song on the loop. Verses, choruses, backing vocals and multiple guitars. Great stuff. Right up my street. I really like this and your Dylanesk vocal works really good. Excellent.

More rock than country to my ears, but this is incredibly cool
southern sounding stuff. Very well played and produced ! This one is a favourite!

The only thing I suspect is wrong with this is to buy the beans and pay the rent you're doing something very different.
Beeeeg mistake!
Another one for my favourites.

This is truly amazing...I faved from the first note...only 1 question: never thought to get 2nd or 3rd part on your lead vocal at the chorus for example?

With appreciation, Danke

Hey Mark, the lyrics are awesome on this track. The vocals are nice and clear, I think the background vocals really add to the track. Good job on this as always, its a very cool track.

Very interesting track. I love the electric guitar. I'm not sure if there are some parts that are clipping or if it's the distortion but I notice some buzz. The voice sounds great - bigger than life. I enjoy listening to the vocals. What plugin do you use for your vocal? Well put together song. Good work!

Nice track, has that classic rock sound, I like it! Guitar playing is very good, maybe the mix could be improved slightly but very good overall, thanks!

Your vocal characteristics are a gift Mark...you seem to get that emotion into the lyrics and your lyrics are always thoughtful (thats a talent in itself)...many of us have a lot of words but the ability to set the words and their emotion together with music is a lot rarer.......and by the way...the vocal(s) and the musical components all sound right on to me (in spite of my less that perfect ears).....Great track my friend....a big well done to you....keep on doing it....Ed

Ed,
TY my friend and mentor. Lyric writing for me is easy at times and other times can be a stressor. I really have to go to another place in my mind to get them to "come to me". I have been writing lyrics for over 37 years now and instead of settling in and just writing, my words are becoming more thoughtful towards the human element as I push myself.

I like what you have here but I think the track could use a couple tasteful guitar solos. Overall nice track though.

TV,
I considered doing more guitar work but decided to keep it simple as not to take away the meaning of the song. The live version would def have more guitar work :)

hey Mark....sorry...forgot to reply to your comments on adding an ending part,,,,my head has moved on to other things...but if you are inclined to add a synth melody bit please feel free....If you want the rhythm backing I can render off a couple of the chorus guitar parts etc for backing if you want....glad you liked it enough to feel inclined to keep it rolling....Ed

Fabulous track Mark!

Of course the original wasn't bad :-) but the final result is outstanding. You brought your best melody lines (for me) here...guitar is sharp as it has to be...acoustic rhythms from Bear are bloody groovy...love this track!!!

Instant favourite and sudden download! :-)

Hope all is well, Danke

Mark, once again you prove your skills as a musician, singer, arranger, and producer. You took something that was really raw and turned it into something really special. Thanks for all of the hard work bro. It means a lot to have you take these songs and make them into something really special. Awesome work. On to the next, haha. Hope all is well.

I like the main chord progression the song has, it is easy to like. As well as the vocals, something familiar about them I like. They sound like Graham Parker a bit, he has a great voice I think. Your delivery is clean and the words are easily understandable.

I like this kind of rock, rhythm based with some great melodies along side a cranking lead. Cool bass, liked the acoustic guitar a lot, just the right amount of each guitar and mixed well. The song is quite catchy, I gave it a few listens and plan to dl this one. Once again you guys hit the mark with this track!

Great job Bear and Mark for putting this together and thanks for sharing Guys!
