You and your son match up great. And yeah, it's adds an extra dimension when collaborating with your kids. Passing on music to the kids is a good thing that becomes even better when they want to do music with dad. It's a sweet feeling.
This track sounds great and I love that ripping solo – fits in perfectly.

Thank you from my son and myself. It was a little scary when we first talked about it cause I didn't know what to play on it..it didn't sound like van halen so it took a few takes lol, but I think i'm out of my box a little more now because of it...sometimes
After listening to this track I will definitely add your name to my top 10 favorite guitarist. Seriously sir you have got...what they call...hmmmm....mad skills!! By the way Frenchkid has also done great job here. Very soothing track. Thanks.
Thanks Screenplay. This was my first attempt at building a song all around the loops...it took a long time but a fun time.
I hope to get better at it so i can make more than one song a month.
I love it though and thanks again
Allen
Funk is the sonic antidote to the blues, isn't it? Funny how it's roots are firmly embedded in Blues, so I'm guessing it's the case of the antidote and poison being a question of dose or degree.
I FEEL GOOD! YEEEAAAHHH!
What I really like about this is the sense of timelessness. Some Funk sounds really dated today, but others sound as contemporary and fresh as the day the vinyl was pressed. This one is one of those.
Great arrangement and mixing. A great addition to my faves. Downloaded too. Thanks!
Thank you nOmad!I'm glad that you heard it the way I meant it...which is what we all hope for when we share our music.
The kinda disco part toward the end made me smile when I played it but didn't think I would keep it in,didn't think the spirit would be interpreted as I felt it,glad you got it and thanks again for the encouragement
Unbelievable, that hit me right in the heart!Everyone is right it is a beautiful piece. That one was right from the soul man, your a hell of a guitar player. One of my favs.I always dug acoustic pieces, heres hopin for more!
Hey Jim,thanks. If there's a downside to playing something unscripted and unrehearsed is that it's hard for me to just do that regularly on acoustic because I don't play it as often. These kind reviews are cause to keep pulling it out of the case though. Now you and kikajon seem to have found your way back...in reference to your song!
Allen, man that was great, absolutely love the bass, and your guitar is great as usual. It felt like the 70's,real natural not forced.
and by the way man, thanx for your comments, means a lot to us!
Thank you Jim.You know thats one thing about comeing from the 70's,it kinda comes through in your music. It did feel like putting on those old bell bottoms...they may not fit any more but you can still remember when they did!
Thank you John.I was a little suprised that just the acoustic guitars alone would bring good reviews but the people i've met here are true music lovers beyond their own genres and that's what makes this such a comfortable community.
thanks again.
You must be a guitar junkie...me too. This was my first loop/live song and took me forever...and that was just a few weeks ago. Thanks for hangin in here with me and for listening to my songs, you were my 100th review in...and I appreciate it very much. It's 5am where i'm at,I'm going to bed.
An ever so enjoyed acoustic song. Inspires me to want to make one myself. Reminds me of a mix of Buckethead and Queensrÿche. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Thank you for listening. This was so much fun to play and I appreciate the comments.Having fun while playing is a good thing and I'm glad you liked it.
Allen
Love this style of music and you have captured the essence of what I love most about the genre. Well produced and the instrumentation choice is perfect. Makes me want to do one in this genre :-)
Thanks John.A blessing and curse...unless it's a loop it has to be guitar and bass so I try to make the best of it.I think I heard a funky blues song over at your place.
Hey!. This is very nice and powerful, I can listening to it on a quite place and put me in a good mood!. Nice walking and neat Bass ... Funky Summer and crazy guitar on there!.
Thank you Kikajon, thought I would try something different. It started out as an experiment with my recorder.I sat in a dimly lit room, shut the door and played. The mics were the ones built right into the Tascam DP-008 digital porta studio.I love this little machine...no bells and whistles but it gets the job done...and can run on 4AA batteries.
Thanks Allen!
Your comment means a lot coming from the best musicians I've heard here at looper (at least in my opinion.) And it's great fun to do stuff with Jim, me here in sweden and him i philadelphia. But that's what this site is all about.
/pmk
p.s. Your tune is in now my iphone so i can enjoy it when I'm offline.
Thank you right back and I have to say again how well you guys fit,Maybe your son could get in on it to if he hasn't already...and you know I like what you do by yourself anyway.
Hey JW,thanks for having a listen.I do love the genre...I liked it before I knew it was a genre! Thanks for the mix and mast comment, you know i'm not just new to the site but to the whole digital recording thing.I didn't realize I would spend just as much time after the recording trying to balance it as playing the parts...It's all been like on the job training and hope to get better at it with each track.
Thanks again for the review
hi mate this is really amazing, the track is funk in a box!! and the whole thing is mastered to perfection!! youve done really well here one of the best ive heard!! increase the funk!! (and the disco!!)
Thanks smallpaul,I'm from the funky disco era and have a fondness for funky guitars,I wish I had some horns in it,maybe the next one.Funk in a box...great...and I had trouble nameing this track.
Thanks for the great feedback!
Hahaha excellent just excellent this I call it a funk!
Amazing guitars, all respect and thank you for using my loop on such a good track, and for share this track with us!
Thank you Alen and for the drums,I made them a little faster and really enjoyed playing the song.
Thanks for helping me out again without knowing it!
Allen
Thanks Michael for the great complement.I do like this style...feel good stuff.I myself can't get enough funky music and it is the most fun to play...I actually smile when I do.
Killer sounds man, you are very very very talented, I play mostly acoustic and this blows me away, you should play it more often. Adding this to my favs man, you made me smile while listening to this because it was so good, great job, huge fan from me!!!!!
That means a lot comeing from a fellow guitarist. You know I like your acoustic playing as well and you also know you have to put some heart in it...as you do.People know when your being honest in your music,I like to think you can hear it.I can in your music.I had a couple of comments that it might be better without a drum track and I am so grateful because they were right and those opinions are what we're here for...now if someone thinks I should play it at 140bpm,I must decline.
Thanks for your review,
Allen
I appreciate that and I think I'll do more after the very kind comments...It's nice to know that all music is accepted here and you really don't know what works until you try.
Thanks for listening.
Allen
This review is gonna be short, because I just typed it up once and I don't fancy typing it all again. Everything seems to flow really well, and the electric guitar and piano worked really well.
Sorry for the briefness, but I gotta move on to some other tracks I said I'd review and I really have to do it now.
Hey Allen this is one hell of a great track man!And I definately can relate to what your saying as far as this being a learning process.I'm impressed with how you played off of the piano, eveything fit together really well.I have a ton of loops myself and am nervous as all hell to try and fit them all together and post them here.I know I have a lot to learn. But I dig the way this song came together for you.
Thank's alot Jim.It took me a month solid...I knew nothing,I had to get my son to show me how to load the loops in FL and make it do what it does, and that was just a month ago.I was trying to use a beat the other day and had to call him and ask how to load the sample...again!It's gettn' better though and I'm having a great time.I told you before, you gotta a great voice and I think you could do whatever you want here.
Allen
