Pretty nice start I must say. I'd wanna nast y it up some. The detuned soundsin the bass are ok, but it needs 1 dropped octave bass sound under it, in the 2nd drop maybe.
This sounds weird, but thinning the kick drum out so it has less sustain and higher esonance will give it more rrom in the overall mix. listen to some old school jungle breaks to hear what i mean.
Thing with DnB is creating just thr right amount of space for all the noises to fit in.
wicked stuff man. i see what ur sayin with the kick. i know its all pretty damn sloppy at the mo n the sounds dont match too well, but just had to kinda feel my way thru without any guidance. i'll be dropping another stab at it on here soon man. much appreciated.
Thanks bro.
Nice but you need to work on that reece thing, it needs more distortion and it sounds to thin. I create dnb a lot, to create reece you take 2 saw oscillators and detune them slightly. run them tough a notch filter and use a lfo on the cutoff. Slow rates work best. Next you add some distortion, tape or tube type distortion works best. Next add some phaser effects, if you like. Lowpass the low frequnecies and hipass the high. Then put a bandpass filter over the highs, and automate the cutoff.
Hope this helps. I use Reason 4 so I don't know how to do this in FL. Creating dnb is hard and know I am just now figuring out some things to make my tracks better. Keep making dnb, you will get better.
easily most helpful review i've gotten. i'll give all those things a try man.
hopefully i'll have more to show for it soon.
mind if i message you if i get stuck on somethin? you've already helped alot anyway and i really really appreciate it.
take care!
Electronically based noises from the other side....I think...where did you get that wicked sound....it sounds like a synthesizer that's been bored out and oversized pistons inserted!.....very heavy and dominant..I'm not totally versed in House music...but this is liken a TRex....it takes no prisoners...cool work!...cheers planet
thank you very much!
thats what i was goin for! thats one thing that must be said for electronic music, when your instrument is the manipulation of sound waves in their rawest form the products you can end up with are limitless. (bearing in mind i am a rock musician at heart and play guitar and bass religiously =]). As for the noise, you pretty much summed it up, i hollowed it out to its base form and filled the holes with some good old fashioned distortion and bunch of other little tweaks, well worth the extra time spent. It's always rewarding to see someone who is not usually a follower of your genre have appreciation for your work, thank you again planet.
Take care,
TJ
haha thanks alot toxic! props go to paul and dj4real more than anything, my part was a small one. glad you enjoyed it! keep it on 100 thats the way to do it. lol
pce.
yeah man it came out really well, next time we should keep swappin it round a bit so we can EQ it out proper. it was great tho, awesome idea man. let me know when the next one is comin up, im in for sure. ill work some dark dnb in next time!
haha HELL YEAH!!!!!
that means alot man thank you very much.
Paul and I have some ideas cooked up on how to make this track even better. i'll let you know when it's up! you'll enjoy this. it had me smilin so hard i thought my teeth would fall out first time paul brought it to my attention. not givin any details tho! haha!
amazing synth! i loved it, great stuff man, a true hardstyle beat, just mabye get some panning going with drum beat, the clap seems to over ride the song a lil,, love it when it kicks in though =D
Your on my list for reviewing a tune as you did one of mine recently.
This one has a good steady beat...I guess that is what house is. So many genre's out there, I can't keep track.
I just upload a Latin type tune and no genre for that. Amazing.
I like the variety in this tune. Very nice production.
haha it's always good to step outside the lines but with everyone trying to make their own sound these days its becoming very hard. but thats a fair enough interpretation of house. just something strong to dance to. anyway thanks for the review randy and ill be checking out that new track of yours now!
I like this a lot!!!The track has a good feel and a great driving groove. Arrangement is very pro as is your mix, I love the bendy effects. In my opinion, a faultless track...
as always slap the review is much appreciated! i've been putting alot more emphasis on my arrangement and mix in this one than i usually do, im glad you noticed! =]
very nice change.
super upbeat forgot to mention the 1st time..a low underlaying pad would work wonders in this. not too high...very subtle, just for background atmosphere. but dont take my word for it...its a fantastic track as is!
yeah its a bit more happy than i usually like to go for, that chimey shit got thrown in cus i was rushin out pretty hard and was on an up slide, so i was just like fuckin yeah lets throw some crazy sparkly shit on it haha. check out the one called through the spektrum, that ones a bit more my normal style when it gets goin (ignore the limp bizkit shit, idk wht i was thinkin)
On a sencond listen, I was surprised to find myself searching for a tempo. This doesn't happen inmy ears... EVER! ;) You did a great job of blending the cut time beat into the 4 drop house riddim. That's tricky to do and still keep someones attention that long.
K, now I'm thinking I do wanna make it dark >:). Sounds like there may some sinister intentions behind that deep cold space.
hahahaha yeah man! these are the reviews i love! if my tracks are makin you actively think bout the music instead of just listening to it then im a happy man.
good shit.
Pretty chill man. I like that you didn't decide to fill every single space with a note. It works as a minimal kinda stepped out tune. Don't know if I'd call this dark or just kinda cold, but I like it.
thanks for takin the time bro. glad you liked it. and yeah, i dont like when a tune is too crowded, makes it harder to pick out the different sounds if that makes sense.
thanks again.
cool track you got here. you may have invened a new genre! i call it "electro-noir" i can see the "perp" planning his escape! but p.i. falter is on th case! while the local sheriff yells, "drag the lake!"

New synths are great aren't they. A little repetitive though and the energy never seems to come. I think you need to use a different kick and at one point in the song add a hardcore melody, something using the low high type melody. Where you have say, C2 then C4 right after it in eighth notes, repeat and add variations, if that makes sense.
yeah dude, that totally makes sense. ill give it a go, good effort mate. i've only been workin with some 'okay' headphones so the kicks sound different to me than to you, you know? my stuff should shape up when my new system comes in. cant wait man. i love xmas presents haha.
