interesting..if you slow the tempo a bit and change the solo to an electric distorted...then i can imagine a marilyn manson vocal type performance on it..it's a good thing because it means the song is great in a way that allows different versions..and ofcourse industrial gothic is my influence.

It's always amazing to hear what others compare a song too. When I posted "Out in the Storm" on another site someone compared that to "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica. Glad you liked it.

Hey mate...nice modulation in your voice..love that phasey guitar....You know I remember you saying how you'd been ridiculed at another site for your beliefs...I don't think your ever going to have that issue here..this place is civilised in that regard...so while the description of your song is true I don't think it warrants the disclaimer...In fact more power to you for singing about something that has real meaning to you..the more the merrier...cheers planet

Thanks for the kind words. I enjoy singing that song a lot. And I believe you're right. I should just state that it's a religious song and leave it at that.

Nice guitar sounds...especially where the melody changes up towards the higher notes...vocals sound quite inspiring...Wicked cat BTW...

Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I spent a lot of my life in a dark place. Even though I'm not there anymore. I reflect a lot of it in my lyrics to relate to those that may be there. I deal with a lot of homeless people and people in jail so a lot of what I write is stuff they can relate to.

Kinda remind me of an old acquaintance of mine and Jazz singer, Arlene Murray. Met her on a now defunct blog site, but that's another story.

That was one wild story in the desc to this. So how'd everything turn out? Was it her first kid or...?? Hopefully it's all cool there. The 'Never Give up...' part, before the back up singers was kinda remindin me of Sade. Choice chunage. Lates!

Donnie, It turned out wonderfully. I was at the hospital when baby Danial was born. I brought her a 1 ft. christmass tree that everyone got a kick out of. Danial's 1 1/2 years old now. He's big for his age with the biggest full head of hair you ever saw. It's like a 1970's Afro. He's a Mama's boy and everone is doing great. V. brings Danial to most of our song writters group meetings. Thanks for asking.

on How much, guitar instrumental by blairrock957
I could maybe do somethin with this. I'm think that I could lay down some vocals (wait, don't everyone run away just yet, haha). It wouldn't be rap or falcetto singin. I'd go all raspy with it.

As for the song, it sounds kinda like Pat Metheny on speed. And I'm lovin the effects ya placed on the Lead. Makes it sound very Spacey or kinda Tubed. Lates!

I never heard of Pat Metnany. Googled him and watched some stuff on Utube. Wow he's phenominal.
Thanks for your kind words and thanks for turning me on to a great guitarist. I watched the live performance in switzerland where he did a acoustic piece. watched a couple others too.

Hey mate...sweet tune!...love the strings...I sort of agree with Rei, it's hanging for a bass line..however I like it the way it is..sometimes when you leave out some instruments in a mix it gives it space and a different dynamic......cool and clear work!...cheers planet

I still may sit down and see if I can play a simple bass line to it. I'm just not that good on bass. Just started playing it.

Nice tune, it had me banging my head from the first beats. Chill track,a bit dramatic(violins...nice), the piano sounds great too. It's just the sax, it feels like it's being played at the other side of the room... maybee less FX on it. Apart from that, you got it right. Will you be uploading another version of it? If so, please let me know, I'm sure it will sound good, and I'd love to here the bassline.
Excellent work my friend.
Cheers S.

well, the thing with the volume of the sax is mentioned several times ....
but there's one thing that's much more important: there's no bassline!!!!!!
music like that only works with a strong and groovy bottom ...

apart from that it's a track that makes me want to jump in and jam .... and this is the best thing I can say about a song ... lol

peace, rei

I was having trouble finding One. May try to lay one down myself. Going to tone down the sax too.

It's a rally cool track...but like Elaine and MrE said the sax is a bit too loud...would love to hear the strings brought a bit more forward...but really nice arrangement nonetheless...

Very cool track musically speaking. The sequencing is very good and sets a great mood. The sax is overwhelming in the mix. It needs a little space to breath, a little reverb and/or a very, very light chorus would do wonders to give it some real life. Just drop the volume in the mix a little bit and you will see an incredible difference. Also consider a fade out at the end, that will help make it less abrupt and chopped sounding. But these are all technical comments. From a pure musical point of view this is a great track! Good work. Peace, Six

Original, DJ BlairRock, I like the synth in your track. Like the others, I think that the vocal are a bit to dry, maybe try with reverb or phaser, your software is bond to have one. Last thing: Your convertion to the dark-side of the dance music, is almost complete my young apprentice... ;)
Cheers S.

LMBO, Oh no not the dark side. Yes, my software has that. I just never think about it. I'm trying to redo the vocals. I keep recording and deleting. Will change it when I get a mix I like. I'm having a lot of fun going through all the loops and FX on my software. Thanks for checking it out.

Man I dig this a lot. Good lyrics and solid singing. I agree with DV that the vocals need some room to breathe. A little Reverb ought to fix that right up. The vocals definitely make this track a lot more interesting. Good work. Now just blend them in with the rest of the track and you are gonna have something pretty cool going on. Peace and Love, Six

I've done a couple of more takes on the vocals. And still not satisfied yet. About to pull my PA upstairs so I can get reverb that I like. I like the concept bot your right I need to get it tighter and some decent effects on the vocals. Some delay might work too.
Thanks.

Goodness golly, oh miss Molly. Just do me a favor man, and never start singin in 'Tongues', haha. I tell you what, I was at this place once where that happened and it flat flipped me out.

So I was thinkin that this would be a pretty sweet song to be played on a Wednesday Youth Group meeting or something. You know, the part of it that's kinda like a party. I'm thinkin it'd be pretty jammin. Though I dunno exactly with the group I was a part of back in NC. It was more of an alt-rock crowd there.

One last thing before I bounce out. Maybe you could redo this and add some effects on the vocals to make 'em sound Spacey or something. I was also thinkin humor-wise on my sinister side, you could add some sample of a chick doing a horrendously bad fake orgasm, hahahahaha. Or not!? Later on mate!

Oh yea. And buy a disco light, and hit the nurseing home curcuit. All right Grandma, get that wheel chair moving. Get funky. Was easy with the program. Just had to click and drag what I wanted to where I wanted it. Just had to listen to a lot to find what I wanted. Only had to shorten 1 loop at the end. Cut where no sound to not get clipping.
