Heya Blair, I'm getting it in mono too. I suspect that the crackling is related to the mono thing. Dunno what program yer using to record these, but there are a few ways around it (if it was inadvertently captured that way). 1.) Take track & copy it, 2.) Place it on the next channel, 3.) Click on the HELP menu and select Index, 4.) Now search for- Mono To Stereo, Make Stereo Pair, Swap Channels, (Make) Mono Left... (kind of a tricky pain in the butt coz it varies from program to program, sadly {shakes head}).
As for the song, its pretty powerful and I imagine its for those who've gone through rehab, coz most of the addicts I know are too self-absorbed to be mindful of the feelings of those around them (course, that'd depend on the drug, was thinking coke & speed with the above). Besides the previously mentioned issues this isn't half-bad for your first go 'round @ recording. Keep bangin on brother!
I really loved this track, big fan of your voice. Just with the help of guitar and vocals you have you have expressed all the emotions so nicely. Yes I agree that's the true art. Thanks a lot sir for uploading such a great track.
So f^^^^^^^^ nice vocals and so good music. You remind me about, yeah i dont remember me about, yeah i dont know their names but they song about a red house :D:D
Didn't ya use this riff on another song or am I having a 'Stoner flashback' here? Either that or I've heard this before, but for some reason didn't review... ???
I'm so confussed, R2. I'm afraid my circuits are failing me.
Ok, I'm not below so it's gotta be the other. Anyways, I liked the riffs before and still do. Gotta question, you ever think about doing a bluesy rendition of the vocals? With some Harmonica and maybe some Piano or Organs? I could totally see this being sung in that fashion. Brother, you got soul (slaps hands). Later on!
Do this with effects? The Guitar sorta sounds phased and airy. Very pleasing on the ears mate! The riff itself is like a mix between Lynrd Skynrd and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Good stuff!
Sorry to take so long responding to your review. I used the effects with my Sequel program. I've stopped recording because I hate doing it and don't have good recording equipment. About to try to record a few videos. Will post them on TT.I like writing and playing more than recording.
Undertones of 'Driving' in this track. Kind of like they're sister songs. There's this indie college film we watched last semester called "One of these" or "The least of these" (a play on the phrase 'one of these things is not like the other'). Done by kids working on their Master's submitted to a film competition (and the winning entry, if I remember correctly). Anyways, the story of this kind of reminded me of that. Interesting & mellow interlude (?) music. Lates!
they are sister pieces in the fact that the same person did the music for both. Good ear to catch it. I just wrote and recorded the accapellas. I had a lot of fun working with Dan on both songs. I wrote drive to the music and FX. He put the music and FX to ARK afyer I recorded vocals. Sorry about late response. Been sick.
Song that this is reminding me of, but I couldn't tell ya who it's by or the name of it. For some odd reason I'm thinkin it's something that Staind did when they started getting into doing more mellow stuff. Now that you're gone or something like that is what I'm think it is.
Anyways, this was a great rendition of the classic. The only thing I beg is that ya do something about the cut off at the end. Other than that I love it. Later on B.
Spaced out and nice sounding. I absolutely, absolutely love the Guitars on this (especially that secondary riff that kicks in after a bit). The vocal melody was nice, but I couldn't really make out what you were saying. It could just be my speakers though, I dunno (shrugs). The crackles I heard, if intentionally placed (and not coming from my speakers, gasps) make it sound old timey (like being played from a phonegraph). Oh, and now that ya have Magix you can go and mess with the effects do make the whole song sound like it's being played from a super old record. Anywho, awesom track mate. Later on!
Getting around to catch up on reviewing some tunes here for reviewing mine.
I like this song a lot. Has a good feel to it. I'd say the voice is a little too bassy as it is a little hard to hear it clearly. Other than my opinion on that, it is a very nice song and well put together.
The car sounds came out very good. The crash at the end is sobering!
..."There's a dark cloud" Oh no, watch out! It's the Green halocaustic fog of death!!
Well sir, they might give you gas, but they make me irregular (as if to say, I was regular to begin with). Now all that remains is for someone to do a song about Dutch Ovens, lmao. Thanks for the chuckle, bud. Later on!
A great sounding guitar.I can see your going to spend many happy hours with her...I was looking at some of the pictures from the Martin web site and this guitar has a dual pick-up configuration..mic & piezo...that's really spells out a nice mix as many subtle nuances are lost with just a piezo....I do like the black machine heads...reserved with an emphasis on the sound not the exterior.....keep it coming!..cheers :)
The tuners are a shiny Black. It looks like a powder coat. That stood out to me when I first looked at it. the double pickup system is excellent. I running it about 50/50. To much mic and you can get feedback. I've definately been playing a lot more since I got it. She looks and feels better everytime I pick her up.
yeah, this baby sounds wonderful!!! you're a happy man at the moment, right??? it's great when dreams come true ... I once had the chance to play a very expensive Taylor ... the first chord was like a sunrise, it was unbelievable, I almost startet to shiver ... so a Taylor is my dream ...
back to your song ... it's a very beautiful piece, reminds me of the times of my classical education, there's nothing better than playing things like that to improve your technique, I still do it myself from time to time ... well done Blair!!!
thanks for listening. I love the guitar more as I play it. I also find that type of soft fingerpicking soothing to my soul. I'm working on lyrics with a Roy Orbison sound and style to them. I hope I can do it justice when I get around to it.
