I love the lyrics you put into this song. It's nice and even too. Your voice isn't knocking out your great guitar or just the opposite. Well done. -clap clap-

Sorry, the intro verse reminded me of what he was sayin and the way that Churches are named (I swear you could demographic an entire congregation just by what it's called, usually). All of it's kinda silly to me coz a temple's a temple. Course I'm the type that believes I don't need one to worship/pray. That's for another chapter altogether, though.

So this was a pretty cool track. I like the bouncey bit of synth it's got and the triangles part was choice too. And I think they did a pretty good job in getting their message across. Lates!

Go to you for mentioning this track in the review. I'm really digging this. At first I was thinkin Guns'N'Roses mixed with Stevie Ray Vaughn. Then when ya started signin it began to sound more like Southern Rock stuff. Like Lynrd Skynrd mixed with Johnny Cash (lightly). You've got an amazing voice my friend. This has got to be Sav/Fav'd, it must be! This is hands down an 11 outta 10. Cheers!

Had it compared to Metallica's "Nothing else matters" too. Thanks for the kind words.

It was the first time for most of us in a real studio. With horns and other musicians. Glad you like.

Something about it very upbeat and just had happy overtones I
would love to loop it and throw some harmonica into it, maybe some lead or even vocals I know its just a sample but I am going to fav this one to, Something is telling me to do it!

Johnny Gadget
P.S. When you said stop at the silence or maybe that will be your
favorite part I thought there was more after the silence part! I
didn't get it till I realized there was nothing there, the subliminal sarcasim had me rolling LMBO!

I'm LMBO right now. I can just see you sitting there with a puzzled look on your face waiting for more. Your cracking me up.

go ahead and do something with it.

So I just had to check it out. I grew up listenin to old timey stuff because of my dad (huge Bluegrass and Gaelic/Celtic player). I actually enjoy the lo-fi sounds of this. In fact I think it'd be super if you could add some kind of Phonograph crackles and the likes.

As for how to convert something mono into stereo (depending on what software you use). (This is what I do on Magix to give my stuff a lil more umph and hi-fi-like sound or just nifty FX if I mess with volume panning)-
1.)Post the sample (if it isn't already)
2.)Move the sample one channel down
3.)Copy under the Edit menu or by pressing the keyboard short-cuts, typically 'Ctrl+C'
4.)Move the original sample back up to the first channel.
5.)Paste using the same method as three (short-cut is now 'Ctrl+V')
6.)Double-click on the sample to open FX master window and at the bottom,
7.)Uncheck 'Link' Box next to the master volume levels for each side/speaker.
8.)Drag the Right side all the way to the lowest number, click apply, and then ok.
9.) Repeat steps 6-8 for the copied sample, but dragging down the Left for 8.

If that doesn't work (like it only comes out one ear on an earphone). Simply do the following...

A.)Connect 1/16th male side with 2 female 1/16th ended splitter up to your Headphone jack.
B.)Connect 1/16th male side Y cable with female mono ended into one fem side of your splitter.
C.)For playback quality purposes plug your headphones into the other remaining fem side of the splitter.
D.)Connect a male/male 1/16th (1 ended) & mono (2 ended) Y-cable= Matching like-colors this time.
E.)If necessary connect the 1/16th side to a 1/16th female to female connector. Connecting the other end to a 1/16th (male) to 1/4th (female) converter jack. Connect your 1/4th ended audio cable. Running that to the microphone port of your computer capped with another 1/16th to 1/4th converter jack (unless you have other types of recording ports, like with my Edirol UA-1EX).
F.)Open your studio program and set everything to record.
G.)Press record and commence strummin, singin, hummin, blowin, pluckin, etc.
H.)Once done, save and repeat the process from D forward (flipping the cables around to where they are white-red & white-red)
I.)After all that just make sure to beat match or whatever you'd like to call it and you should be good to go. If not, I'm afraid it's beyond me. Good luck with everything!

thanks. I think the pan will do it. Just didn't really worry about it since it was first couple of recordings. Learning more doing more . Plus if I can't figure it out I know someone here or the steinburg software sight can help me. This is brand new to me and am enjoying learning this stuff.

This is a sweet piece of work. The opening reminded me a bit of an old Grand Funk song. "I'm Your Captain", I believe. I would also like to try my hand at creating something from this, with your permission. Moke

go right ahead Just googled I'm your Captain.
Yea I see the start part. Don't know why, but I thought that was a doobie's song. Must of been to many doobie's of my own inthe 70's.

All I am getting is a mono feed...I have checked out all my stuff and things seem to be fine...am I crazy? well maybe, but that is a whole other issue. Aside from that and the crackling sounds on the track. I like the basics of what you have here. Cool acoustic piece and your vocals are unique. Peace and love, Six
blairrock957
blairrock957 replied Unknown
with the crackling I think it was a bad cable.
Will figure out what to do to record in stereo.

Just wondering how you are recording and mixing because you are only getting mono. I like when people dip into the historical songbook. I like this little groove, needs stereo sound and a hint of reverb though. Peace and Love, Six
blairrock957
blairrock957 replied Unknown
needs reverb. Yea didn't have anything upstairs with reverb. I dont like the reverb from my soft ware.
Got to figure out to do stereo new to this stuff.

This is a good start to something cool and homespun. It has a charm to it that I can't really describe. When you polish it, be sure to try and maintain some of that. Good sound on the guitar too. Peace and Love, Six
blairrock957
blairrock957 replied Unknown
the polish is that I need to practice this peice a lot more. So it stays clean and in time. Will repost when I get it better. Do have some other stuff I do better that I'll post soon.

Hey I really dig this track. Kind of reminds me a little bit of a cross between late '90s Metallica and Widespread Panic. Sorry I hate giving comparisons, but I just got a really strong vibe from this. Besides, I LOVE those two bands. Really cool sound and distinct vibe. Nice work, Six

I've had someone else tell me it reminded them of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" I'm imbaressed to say I didn't remember the song and they shot me a link to it and I remembered it right away then. Thanks for the kind words and I love your stuff to.
