I like this for the fact that it is completely different from your other stuff. I mean in every way! It's pretty cool in a funky way, although not anything that I would listen to outside looperman. That said, I really admire the way you are trying something different. I could not make a track like this. Not one that was any good anyway...haha. Very cool. Peace, Six

Something my Dad useta sing to me when I they'd lay me down to sleep. 'Hummin sumfin somethin hummin, and she'd be the Queen of the land. Like a Dimond shinin so brightly. Hummin sumfin somthing, and she'd be the Queen of the land.' The only bits I remember, I know, bad, right? Haha, so if ya ever need a way to knock yer kids out here's a good way (and if that fails you could always go all caveman Nugett and bonk 'em over the heads with the base of it, kidding kidding, besides, that's what they made Sudafed for, kidding, seriously, I'll stop, lmao). Interesting chune mate!

Whatcha mean. A few weeks ago I did some that I later tried to upload on here and they turned out to be too big. And I'm not really a keyboardist either. Perhaps if it was practiced more, but you know how much of a pain it is to hook everything up. It's one very big GRRR!

So the drums were pretty tight and I'm with what the others said. Perhaps you could divide down those into sections- Using some kind of acoustic sound for the bass and I have no idea on the melody. Umm, maybe keep the low key stuff as is and swap out the higher tones with, (scratches head)... Not strings, there's too much punctuation in them now. Uhh, wait, I think I got something that would match that and give it a string sound. A mellow Harpsicord or some kind of Organ (the 2/4ths one could work, if yours has that font).

Definately has potential. It sorta reminded me of a blend between Charlie Brown stuff mixed with the Napoleon Dynomite score. Later on!

This music is just too great for me to pass by without leaving a comment. Great lyrics, voice, arrangement. I know, everybody loves this one, but this is the kind of music you can't just listen once and forget. Came to me in a dark day and lifted me up. Cheers!

Thanks and glad to lift up. A friend of mine played the lead guitar on it and that adds a lot to it. And may your dark days be few and far between. Thanks for taking the time to listen and review it.

Yes I did. So hit me baby one more time. Now wait that would be a good parody about brittney. Having someone beating her up and telling her to stop singing. and she keeps going "hit me baby one more time" Not endorsing domestic violence of course. Glad you liked it.

I was over at a friends house that has a bunch of recording equipment and used Voice FX box set on Helium to do the vocals.
He has Animation movie software and wants to make a smurf video for the song so we can post it on Utube. I'm hoping he actually does it. Going to check out your track now. I love writing lyrics. Started writing poetry when I was 13.

Hello Blair,
Thanks for steering me to this song. With over 6600 tracks on here, I can't get to them all. So I tend to just listen to the most recent ones since I am fairly new here. :-)
I like this song very much. The mix was professional and the reverb came out just right for the drums, etc.
You have a good voice too....so all the elements are there for a hit. Just a matter of getting enough people to listen to it out in the world.
I can't compare it to any other songs I have heard like some others can. There was a time period of years really I didn't listen or play much music at all because of working so much.

I'll checkout some more of your work. :)))))
Thanks for posting it.

Almost reminds me of some Johnny Cash. Solid lyrical content. I'd love to help out in making this a rap tune if you'd like, whether it's giving you a beat or vocals. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Cheers.

on How much, guitar instrumental by blairrock957
A couple things. First, consider using a tone for a lead guitar part that stands out a little more from the rhythm part. It's pretty close here, but it needs just a little more sonic separation. Second, I really like this track! It reminds me of when I was less skilled (no offense intended at all) and played with more heart than technical ability and knowledge. In a lot of ways, you cannot ever recapture that. I could not make a song like this. I would feel the need to make it "polished." So hold on to that fire and feel for as long as you can, because sometimes the best music comes from that place! Peace, Six
blairrock957
blairrock957 replied Unknown
I definately appreciate the advice. Agree with it to. No offence taken. I'm left handed playing right handed and just starting to mess around playing a little lead. Most all of what I do is strum chords or finger pick chords and sing. From doing praise and worship in jail. I've played on and off most of my life. More off then on. Never played full songs or sang till 3 years. Never used a pick till then either. I don't even think I'm a musician. Just started learning Chord progressions and a little theory. always feel free to critique it helps me as I try to learn more and get better.

Yea I did it that way just to show the peice. cause I'm hoping to get some one to do it as a rap song including them doing the vocals.
I play and sing this song but when I do it's almost like Willie Nelson singing to the tune of David Allen Coe's You don't have to call me darlin

Mouko,
That would be great. I just loaded a Accapella but waiting for review so I just down loaded it as a track. check it out Four gray walls.
Also have a song I've seen better days that I haven't recorded yet. About the homeless that would like done Rap to the verses then chorus Singing and rap. Tell me what you think about four gray walls and I'll try to get a recording up of I've seen better days. I picture it as kinda a Lincon Park type of song when it gets changed.

What are you using to record with? Perhaps I or someone here on the looperman experience could help you with some technical issues. Please don't take that the wrong way. I just hear a lot of scratches and such and want to see if we can't get your sound a little sharper. Peace and love, Six

Don't have midi cable or port to to go to from keyboard. 1/4 in cable from head phone jack to small mixer. Mixer to M-A udio Fast track interface. Could be time for some new cables too.
Using a Not so new HP laptop. And Sequel Software.
Any help always appreciated.
