I love this song. I would add some pads when you start singing. and then it needs a strong piano just playing ne note at a time. when i have the time, I would love to add to this one Joe. A great piece of work and very catchy as I keep thinking of it in my mind.

Thanks a lot for your gentle comment Steve.
Really good to know that you like what i have done.
I would be honored if you would take the time to compose something for this song.
Since I intend at least to resume the choral part, it would be nice if you, whatever you produce, send it me as separate steem file, so I can mix it again properly.
If you want i can send you the steems to work on/with

Very deep and interesting feeling to this song! The rhythmic elements are obviously very prominent and also quite good, but your vocals as usual steal the show and make this a song rather than just a "track."

It was interesting hearing someone reference PJ Harvey, as I can definitely hear what they mean. I would say that it is more well represented in her deeper tracks. Love and I used to listen to her various albums fairly obsessively, and very loud. It is simply a great comment to receive, from my point of view.

I hear things like this, and see the request for assistance, and I always want to get involved... then later I realize how many things I am already involved in, and I become timid. So I probably should not even bother at this time in life. I fail too often, and I don't want people to hate me (much).

I enjoyed the song a lot, and it's recorded oh so well! Fave!

joecramer replied 5th Oct 2017 - 8 years ago
Don't worry, I will never hate you. I often have the problem that I want to help and do more as I can sometimes afford.
I have not had much to do with PJ Harvey so far, but after reading the comment, I listened to a lot of them. Really good things which I like very much. And I can understand the connection between them and me well. Although there is actually no connection at all.
I am really happy to hear that you could enjoy the listen to this "song". And also that you think that the vocals work well.

If you change your mind and/or find some time anywhere, i can send you the steems from this one.

Thanks a lot for the really nice and friendly comment.

thanks Joe,
i read in many comments that your track was in a kraftwerk spirit, i agree with that but it was not my own feeling when i listened to it... your voice remembered me some intonations from the wall, Pink floyd. Particularly in the tittle "comfortably Numb". Don't ask me to explain why, it's just a feeling. I listened to your track several times, and each time, i said myself: "there's something from pink floyd in this one"

be sure i will listen to it again and again, it's really a good track!

Respect

Hey Bleep,
mostly i got the connections to other music stuff much later then the listeners. Often i can't understand there feelings but i always go to youtube and do a listen to the suggestions. So i found sometimes something i never heard before and/or i listen to some (mostly) good stuff i already know and like. Same comes with this Pink Floyd feeling. I am in love with the The Wall album almost 37 years now and i am happy that you send me to youtube cause i had some nice listen. But for me Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, PJ Harvey and so on are a number to big to be named in a row with me. For my understanding and or feeling i always just do another little Joe Cramer track.
I am delighted that you like this song so well that you have heard it several times already. So i want to say thank you for all the nice words and the feedback and time you invested.

I am really pleased that you have made the effort and have played something new to it.
It would be absolutely great when you post it here so I can listen to and also others what you have done.
Since I still work on this piece it would be nice if you can somehow give me the two steems as wav. If these are too big for you to send, I also take mp3 files. Unfortunately, I work with Magix and not with Ableton, but I would be really happy if you can send me also the midi files.

Hey Joe!

It seems I'm the second one after our friend Silverman who smnells the reminiscences of Kraftwerk, although I'm completely taking in regard your explanation that the similarity wasn't intentional. Great work again Joe and it seems you'll be developing it further and maybe it even emerges on one of your future albums...I'm really holding my fingers cross for you to achieve that goal..:) Fave for this one !:)

Thanks for your nice comment and the fav Orlando.
May your crossed fingers bring me happiness

Good to know that you could enjoy the listen.
All I tried was to create an unusual mix between lyrics (a socially critical challenge to think) and music (a relaxed offer to dream and chill). And it turned out that it worked well.
Actually, it is not like Kraftwerk but somehow a little as in the spirit of them.

Kraftwerk definitely made the German voice THE voice for electronic music.
This is superb.
My wife came in and said it's years since we listened to Kraftwerk but I don't remember this one!
I really hope you're going to release an album one day Joe I'm sure it would sell well over here.

What a gentle comment. I didn't had this Kraftwerk connection in mind but after your comment i listen to the track again and your wife could be right. Maybe i listen to long to too much Kraftwerk music when i was a young boy.
If there is anyone around who wants to make an album with me and try to sell it, in GB or anywhere else, just call me.

Thanks for your friendly words Mr Silverman

It's been awhile since I've been around Looperman and I came across this one at 5am in the morning (I never sleep lol)

Wow, this is older and I really like the 80s vibe I'm getting from this. The reverb has that classic long tail that was so prominent in that era of music. Fun listen! Hope youre doing well :)

The guitars just flat out rock. Love the guitar solo that comes in at 1:38. The vocals while good should be screamed. Maybe not like Judas Priest "You've got another thing comin'" but maybe :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biXnwOMznkg

Yes the guitars are cool and really rock on. Burt did a good job and his work fits well with the vst guitars. This track is an old one for me and i done it into so much different versions that i can't count them. And i know really what you mean when you wrote they should be screamed, cause i done that in the past often and it works well.

on kaufen ohne Geld - buy without money by joecramer
Holy crap that "Achtung" remix was awesome, and now onto something of yours I have not heard... and it is a good follow up!

MrWolf obviously went straight to theft in regards to this theme, however my mind went to barter, which I suppose doesn't involve as much running (in my country, at this time, as a disclaimer).

I do love that sort of thing, though I have also been an advocate of theft at times in the past. Barter is my more common method now, or dumpster diving. I try not to need "things," however I am an addict. Also, it often ends up involved in my arts. Ended up with weeks worth of frozen organic broccoli last winter through barter, and that was great... and now that man is no longer my friend, after fifteen years or so. It's too bad, since he was the last one standing from our wedding.

Man, your music takes me places! Now I am playing it again, after reading you lyrical translation (thank you again for that). I could not help but get an impression of credit this time. That could be just due to recent experience though. I like when a song has infinite interpretation.

Almost no one does this sort of thing anymore, and I respect you for it. I can't help but wonder what your life is like. One never knows.

I love the song, and I will be faving and downloading. Thank you for sharing! Have a good day!

When i was younger and had no family and nothing to loose, that where the times i had nothing to fear at all.
Good old days :)
Right now i am much more calmed down and just try to get not into to much problems, so i can do mostly things i like to do and also mostly in the way in like to do them.
Same thing happend to me and my music (in a way). Often this days i do some more "clean" and "easier" stuff (in my eyes/ears) but sometimes i can't resist to do some more "real" stuff. Sometimes i just have to say what was, is, or will be and i have also often the feeling that this world (and also the world of music) is much to soft washed and needs some more raw power.
You wrote that you wander about my life, i also wander often about it, so let me say it in this way - we would need days over days of drinking, smoking, eating and talk together, just about god and the world and past and future and behave and meanings and feelings and emotions and believe or not believe, love and hate and pure power of friendship and sure about time and space and universe itself and the meaning off life and books and cartoons and stuff. Then you would maybe be able to understand my life a bit :) ... and this is my true will/wish, if i get the money/time to visit people i am really interested in, then you will be on the top of this list.

So stay tuned Spiv until that day

Hello Joe,

this time i won't write in english i'm sorry but i don't find the right words in english so i'd rather let my comment in french :)

Hello Bleep

Ok, my english isn't the best but my french goes mostly around zero. But it looks like the grammar isn't that fare away from german, cause google did a almost good translation.
I really enjoyed your friendly words. I am happy that i did a track where you get something from that told you to write something in your nativ language. Cause it shows me that you really had the feeling that you should say something really in the way you wanted it. I really have to say thank you for that. And it is a pleasure to read that you find a connection between Leonard Cohen and me. Wow.
This mix is almost 2 years old and i believe that i right now a little better into mixing but i don't think that i am really close to a good mixing with (my) vocals :) I still learning by doing and maybe some day ........

Comments like yours encourage people to go their way further

All the best
