Nice work on this one Ookami.
Does have a tinge of dark and devious melody and the bells suggest something related to children or adolescence. I think it works really well for Halloween as the name says. For who knows just how much of a deep impression Halloween actually has on an innocent childs Psyche !!!
I appreciate it, SN. I will continue to do better. I have never attempted a holiday themed track, so this was very difficult at first, but I am impressed with the results. However, if it sounds similar to a Christmas theme, it's somewhat of a failure for me. Nevertheless, I'm glad you took the time to listen and comment.
Reminds me of Danny Elfman, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands. Impressed me immensely as the subtle build and addition of instruments was right on cue. My anticipation of each musical movement was met as, my ear, expected. This is a wonderful theatrical theme and soundtrack. Well done. :)
I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed the track! It was a hassle at first, since, once again, I don't really make much holiday-themed soundtracks. Perhaps I'll get better over the course of time. Thank you for the awesome comment!
Sounds really good! I agree that the melody could pass for a Christmas tune on its own, but it makes the track more creepy since its with everything else in the track.
Aww man. I can't believe it. Does it really sound like Christmas? Well, I'm glade you commented and also pointed it out. I am, however happy you think this was somewhat creepy. Thanks again man.
Great track Ookami. Honestly i thought it was more of a Christmas tune than a Halloween one. I felt that it was not dark enough or maybe cut back on the main bells synths and replace it with something distorted/ scary. Thanks for sharing brother. Oh and drop in a horror movie sample in there!
Sweet! Thanks man. I haven't thought of it as being a Christmas themed track. I appreciate you pointing that out to me. Also, a horror movie sample sounds like a cool idea. Unfortunately, I haven't mastered the ability to add sound samples and stuff such as that yet. Perhaps you could make a remake of the track and add such thing? Thanks for the comment, mate!
ive way.
i prefer to have a well-defined attack phase for the strings, but of course that is also a matter of personal taste. i just feel like it can make the strings or woodwinds sound a little more realistic.
other than that i enjoyed it greatly.
nicely done! :)
Hey, this is pretty cool! It's minimal in a good way. I'm kind of curious what synths you were using to create this. They're unique sounds, kinda old school. Good work!
I greatly appreciate it. It was a fun track to do. I shall, as always, take your words into consideration from this point on. I am looking forward to doing more tracks with your experienced critiques.
hey man, job well done for your second orchestral piece, repsect!
i like both the arrangement and mix aspect.
to give you one tiny constructive criticism if i may: there is some sort of glissando/portamento going on in some of the legato string/pad sections, that stood out in a non-positive way.

Thanks man! I am glad you said this. It'll, without a doubt, make me better at this style of music. I'll keep your preferences in mind. Perhaps there are others who share your mindset to orchestral pieces. Thanks again.
by 1:05 in you have found your way nicely (IMHO) i think you might look for a different sound in the opening (and for subsequent usage). i like the active quality - the counterpoint of different lines. a lot to work with here. all the best! Dan
i like your mix a lot. the notes when piano first comes in under sax are really neat. kind of non-tonal sound which I like (as you may know!) beautiful sax playing. i assume that is acoustic (if not - I am seriously amazed).
Thanks, Midisparks. Everything is (in a way) artificial. It was all the Fl studio presets. I simply tweaked certain things to give it a more natural sound. I am happy to see you enjoyed this track. Hopefully I'll be able to continue to amaze you. :)

Maybe it would soundtrack a hip hop Halloween scene?
I'd prefer those drums to have the reverb decreased as I find it a bit too much.
But the drum programming and sounds are decent.
You definitely like melody and have quite a considered composer's approach (what I've picked up from the 10 or so track of yours I've listened to).
And you're only going to get better over the years.

I think this is probably the best I've heard from you and it has a good foundation.
Lead part coming on 0:57 is cool and there's good space in the track with the way that bass moves.
1:26 and a good new synth joins in - an even better part.
This already sounds quite sophisticated, actually, but with an easy sort of simplicity.
Effective removal of drums on 2:29, this is moving along nicely. Of course they have to come back in (and do).
On 2:50 I'm not keen on that lead synth sound - just a bit too cheesy (though nothing terrible) and could do with a bit more reverb.
Try switching that sound for a better one.
The penultimate section (3:10-3:40)is probably a little too short so try lengthening it, bringing back a synth sound or two, maybe adding another.
But it's overall it's good work, as my above words should clearly indicate!
