Description : Here is a Jazz oriented song I made using Fl Studio 10. It is the first Jazz song I've done ever. Please enjoy~

Collab: I would like to work with someone in doing a deeper instrumental version of this song. Same tempo, and general sound, however with stronger and better melodies/harmonies.

I love the spacey feel , yet with a nice older jazz vibe. The EP patch was cool with the hint of sustain. Nice work PDMuzak

I remember sound of FL studio and times I was working in it. Everything sounded like MIDI. I am a fan of jazz too. Drums does not sound much jazzy at least when comparing to real jazz. Melodies and bass line is quite well build. And also there is space to make sound more acoustic, using live samples or multisamples, not to sound like ringtone of cellphone(I mean MIDI sounding instruments - ). Depends on what the goal is.

Thanks for the comment! This was rather a bland track of mine at an attempt to make Jazz. I assure you, I've improved since this. Jazz is one of my favorite genres, and I've pushed myself not to disgrace it in any way. Take care!

I'm not a huge fan of Jazz but I decided to give this one a try. I enjoyed it a lot, and while I am open to all genres Jazz generally doesn't get to me. Well produced and some interesting ideas were put into this!

Thanks! I appreciate your comment. Jazz is a bit iffy genre for me, but I took a shot at it. Take care, comrade.

The bass would of been nice with a double bass? :)
Sax is interesting, sounds good though.
Feel like a ride symbal would be VERY fitting for those drums - follow or be a little off time. Would give it a little more character
Nice sounds man, keep it up :)

I very much like the movement into the piano (before the break). You had a way of sneaking in a build - I didn't even realize how high we were. ;) fantastic. really lives up to it's name.

i like your mix a lot. the notes when piano first comes in under sax are really neat. kind of non-tonal sound which I like (as you may know!) beautiful sax playing. i assume that is acoustic (if not - I am seriously amazed).

Thanks, Midisparks. Everything is (in a way) artificial. It was all the Fl studio presets. I simply tweaked certain things to give it a more natural sound. I am happy to see you enjoyed this track. Hopefully I'll be able to continue to amaze you. :)

Jazzy in most of the aspects. It is made single handedly so please consider it an experimentation for the thrill of making music.

Description : "Oh no - not jazz metal! You're not supposed to mix those genres together." Yes, but someone's got to and the musical gods have chosen me for the difficult task. 9 mins of instrumental jazz metal - damn I sure know how to write a hit song - US No 1 here I come. Anyway - there's some dark, swinging groovy jazz, with Rhodes and guitar as the main instruments, for a few minutes and then some haunting, thumping evil breaks loose. Look out for the powerful synth horn sound. And then it just gets heavier and heavier before returning to some nice chillgroove funky mystery jazz. Instruments played and/or programmed: electric guitar, bass guitar, electric cello, multiple programmed acoustic drumkits, filtered strings, Rhodes, big synth bass, evil synth horn and a few other assorted synths. I assume this has too much jazz for metallers and too much metal for jazzers. So, only for weirdoes like me who enjoy both. This will surely be too odd for most people but I like to think it's pretty interesting and powerful. Let me know how its weirdness worked for you...
