Hold Me Close - RichardShekari

Description : Today I was scrolling through the Loop section and came across this guitar loop by a producer known as Nameless. Even though I don't usually work with loops, the melody was simply too good to pass up.

All I did was add a rock drum loop from FL Studio and build something around it. Hope Nameless likes what I came up with, and I hope you all enjoy it too.

Nameless really nailed that guitar loop, but what you did with it is top-tier, Richard! The way your vocals sit in the mix with that rock drum groove makes the whole track feel so seamless and organic. Incorporating the rain/thunder FX was a brilliant touch for the atmosphere. Outstanding work as always, my friend!

That guitar loop is used to it's fullest potential, sounds really good. I like the sound of the drums on this and the vocals and harmonies sit really well in the mix too. Really good track.

Hey, Bullitt.
I really appreciate that, thank you! Credit goes to Nameless for that amazing guitar loop; it made the creative process so much easier. I'm truly grateful I had the opportunity to build something around it.

Thanks as well for the kind words about the track as a whole. I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and share your thoughts!

Hello Richard. You made perfect use of that loop. As if it was made specifically for this dynamic track. Your vocals are exceptional. Drums are punchy and powerful. Oh by the way I thought to reach for the umbrella but it was just your creative genius LOL! The message is always uplifting and inspirational. Listen enjoyed fav given.

Peace,

Mark

Haha, I had to read that twice before I figured out what you meant by the umbrella. Good one, King!
I've always thought that working with loops takes a special kind of skill. In fact, I still do. Some producers can take four or more loops from different artists and somehow weave them into a solid, clean track. That always amazes me.
With this one, I didn't do much, really. I matched the tempo, added another rock loop in FL Studio, and voila... kaboom Haha.
Thanks for the kind words, Mark. I truly appreciate them. And yes, Nameless is a genius. The loops he creates are incredibly easy and inspiring to work with.

Wow! This is some good usage of a loop, eventhough you dont use them a lot. I like the rain effect, it really adds to the vibe of the song. Did you do the vocals of the track? If so, damn! You got some talent, good sir! I might do a LM loop mix as well. Fun to use some loops from other members of the community.

RichardShekari replied 24th Jun 2026 - 2 months ago
Thanks, mate! I really appreciate that.

You're right, I don't use loops very often because they're rocket science to me. Haha. But this one was too good to pass up. I'm glad the rain effect worked for you; I was hoping it would help set the mood and tie everything together.

And yes, those are my vocals. I still track my vocals in Adobe Audition 1.5... old school, right? Haha.

Thank you for the kind words! I'm primarily a vocalist, so hearing that means a lot. I'm looking forward to hearing your LM loop mix as well. It's always fun to see how different people interpret the same source material.

Hey man, glad you picked up on that loop. It's really cool. The drums are nice and it's very creative what you have achieved with what you had to begin with. I liked your voice in this one, goes well with the well thought out lyrics. You must be chuffed. If not, I certainly am for you! Keep it up man. P.S - I noticed the thunder in there too, nice touch!

RichardShekari replied 24th Jun 2026 - 2 months ago
Ah, don't praise me too much on this one, though! Haha. The drums and guitar are actually loops; one from Looperman and the other from FL Studio. I just stitched them together and built around them. I think I have no excuse to be lazy now; seeing what can be done with a few good loops has definitely inspired me to keep creating.

Thanks again for listening and for the encouragement. It means a lot.

that was such a beautiful reply to my comment brother, i took a few days absorbing its message, and thankyou for your prayer, my aunt, my moms brothers wife, catholic and very devout and a beautiful woman inside and out, she has prayed for me many times, i do believe there is something in prayer, believe me, and i do question life myself, i survived a horrific road traffic accident at 13, people died, a young mother too, i was worst off out of the living, i was in a coma for 6 weeks , i have a scar on my chest 1/2 inch its shaped like a horse shoe, my lucky horse shoe i call it, it was the volume button on the stereo in the car as it crushed my chest, i was a passenger, i had my last rites read to me in hospital by a priest, I question why i survived and others didn't, it took almost 3 years to recover i had partial paralysis down my left side and i spoke like a 9year-old it was a tough time, physio 3 times a week, then mom walked out, two years later she was murdered. its no wonder my lyrics always show real hurt, i know what it really feels like, and i am so proud of myself what i have gone on to achieve, always worked, my own kids and grandkids and I'm not a bitter man at all either, i think i have been blessed enough in general even tho I've had hard battles, thanks for your caring reply

I appreciate you opening up like that, brother. Thats a heavy story to carry, and Im sorry you had to go through so much loss and recovery. The fact youre still standing, still creating, still present with your kids and grandkids says a lot about your resilience. I hear no bitterness in you, just honesty and depth. Respect to you for that.

Excellent new way of working, Richard. I truly liked your lyrics and your vocal performance. You used this loop in a seamless way, so everything sounds natural and artistic. The song is so beautiful and contemporary; you've been making good art, my friend. You're gifted and true to your wishes, and it all resonates with us. My compliments on this track.

Richard you are a respected member of our community and using loops is just another great way of showing what you can do, and the many different ways of being creative, i thought this also had an extra bit of style with its layers of natural sounds in the background and the guitar was a great shout, and fantastic to see you big-up that artist for his loop, little things like that make big impacts to people who upload loops and i think its the correct thing to do show appreciation massive respect, i also notice there is a different vocal chain used here slightly different, still a good listen, i'd recognize your work anywhere these days mate, your a good guy and always bring your message and positiveness to the community, what's not to like about that, we're kindred spirits brother and we use our music to show who we are as individuals. its 3.20 am, i retired just after midnight, i am in excruciating sciatic pain and had to get up for a warm drink, this has been the biggest battle I've faced for years, the last month, it WON'T win, offer a pray up for my recovery bruv, he might just listen to you your a true disciple

RichardShekari replied 18th Jun 2026 - 3 months ago
You know, Paul, I first heard the word "sciatica" from my wife towards the end of her first pregnancy. Before then, I had never even come across the term. Trust me, as an African, words are only important to us when our survival depends on them, if you know what I mean. Looking back, it's possible she was dealing with a different kind of pain and figured that anything that intense had to be sciatica.

Anyway, I brought that up because when you mentioned it, I went and looked up the common symptoms. Man, just reading about it made me uncomfortable. If a few paragraphs can make me not want to continue reading, then I honestly can't imagine what it's like having to live with that kind of pain in your own body.

Now, I think you and I both know I don't have the power to heal anyone, and I don't believe any of us do. But I do believe the One who made us knows us better than anyone else ever could. So the best we can do is take our requests to Him honestly and sincerely.

After all, He said in Matthew 7:8 that everyone who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. To me, that means we don't have to approach Him timidly. We can come confidently and lay our burdens before Him.

After seeing your message, I pulled out my little worn-out Bible, the one I always run to when I need to hear His words. I read Luke 10:19 and Psalm 23:1-6 with you in mind. And since you invited me to pray along with you, I used your name specifically when I prayed. I asked the Lord not only to heal you, but also to walk with both of us and continue guiding us through this life.

Just so we're clear, I'm no pastor or priest. I'm simply standing with you in spirit, believing that God's healing isn't limited by distance, circumstances, or anything else. In a way, I read those verses as though I were Paul, the one dealing with the sciatica. Maybe when you have a quiet moment, you can read them yourself and spend some time reflecting on them.

I pray the Lord becomes your shield and your protection. I pray He takes you under His mighty wings and heals you in a way that leaves no doubt about where the healing came from. And when that day comes, not if but when, I hope you'll give Him all the glory.

One thing I've learned the hard way is that the secret to getting through life is found in the very name the world often overlooks: Jesus.

So that's my prayer for you, my friend.

Amen.

Not my lyrics.
The experiment began with asking GPT to write lyrics for a 3-minute house track; I ended up with way too much text, and I don't sing that fast. Next, I started coming up with melodies for the vocals, recorded the vocal parts, added instruments, and reworked the melodies, drum, and bass lines over and over again in an attempt to create a cohesive whole.
I made extensive use of JS: Vocoder (by Geraint Luff).

I hope you enjoy
