Listen To Late For The Train Acoustic Song By ShortBusMusic At Looperman.com

Description : I wish we still had a forum. I kept hearing about AI taking over for musicians and singers and thought, no way. So I decided to explore a bit, and created this song using only AI. All of the instrumentation, vocals, lyrics, all created by AI. So that brings me to my question, on a loop based site that I have participated on for over 15 years, is AI the future of music? Do we need musicians? If you have any thoughts, I would love to hear them.

Description : A track I did with a friend ages ago. I play the guitar and he sang and wrote the lyrics. The lyrics came mostly from headlines in the newspaper that sunday. Recorded using a crappy old microphone direct into cubase with a few overdubs

Description : There were two separate tracks in work, but who knows why I got tired with them and then decided to merge them (or at least what left from them) into one piece hence they originate out of same musical purpose. No worries...no world war was ment here, except my recent personal one...haha...and you don't want to know about it.:) It's not real etude by any means, yet it's quite alot about practicing...practicing...

Description : Again, another early production from like two years ago. I had a cheap little Yamaha acoustic guitar that I borrowed and mic'd and some congas that were given to me as a birthday present. I used my iPad GarageBand app to record the strings and the big bass drum thingy at the interlude and little electric guitar parts in there too haha. All the vocals were done by myself and my brother throws in some little things here and there with his voice :P Enjoy!

Everyone's talking about the impact on musicians and music, but what about the most likely illegal use of copyrighted material? Music companies with big money for lawyers, successful musicians with big money for lawyers, can get money/license fees for their material being illegally used to train AI models, but what about the hundreds of thousands, or is it millions, of unsigned music creators whose creations are being used? I checked some AI resources (academic use) and came across Jamendo collection (Dataset is made available solely for non-commercial research and academic use) but you could download and use it, it's just 508 GB ;), tools for ripping audio (wav) from YouTube based on genre. In my opinion, AI is probably based on theft. Why theft? Have you all, and all other music creators around the world, given these AI training material collectors permission to rip your/their songs and/or acapellas for free for commercial use by AI? If not, then it's illegal commercial use of copyrighted material, right?
Most likely I'm stupid...

"Major Label Licensing Deals
In a separate development, all three major music labelsUniversal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Grouphave signed licensing agreements with the AI music startup Klay Vision Inc..
Platform Functionality: Klay is building a streaming platform that uses an "ethical AI" approach, allowing users to interact with and remake licensed songs in different styles using AI tools. The company aims to respect copyrights while creating new avenues for fan experience and artist compensation.
Legal Settlements: These deals follow a period of legal challenges, during which major labels sued other AI music generators like Udio and Suno for copyright infringement. Warner and Universal have since settled their lawsuits with Udio and plan to launch a collaborative, licensed AI music creation platform in 2026 that will provide artists the ability to opt-out and receive payment if their work is used." The AI Artist: Xania signed for a reported $3,000,000. I don't like it, but maybe I should...
I see you have turned off comments on your other tracks but I gotta say there really good man, the instrumentation and sentiments are powerful and rolling my heart, I hope you don't mind me saying this and wish you wellness and great things with whoever you meet and whatever you do. Peace Sounder

Anyway, the song is ok. I guarantee your worst song without the use of A.I. is 100000000 times better.

Anyway, I liked the song but the lyrics truly made me trist.
Best regards, Anthony

i agree with another poster Morgan, 100% AI should only be given a non- comercial licence, not for profit. but that wont happen. sorry its a long mail, but i know quite a bit about said subject everyones on about it, that creates the fear and as you asked, i answered, and the moral of my story 10 billion dollars spent this year on AI in music AND, this is the cherry on top, the first AI artist has just signed a 1.3 million dollar contract, when U2 and the Rollin Stones join Looperman, i'll be saying i told you so, lol

My foray into AI includes creating photo-real images of brass players for a fictional big band with a story round it that's going to be web based. I don't have a budget for a photo shoot and it's unethical to use lifted images of real people so I justify a best use case, I will also post process them into Polaroids in Photoshop. AI is able to augment what I'm wishing to do in this way. The fun part of writing and making music are mine. I suppose I'm interested in how people are going to use AI in their projects but AI has also pushed me into seeking 'Outsider Art' also.

Ai just copy others artists and make songs copying existing music.
It's the people who push the boundaries of music with their imagination and creativity. As a tool AI can be useful, but as main creator, i don't think so.
