Twilight - Zootman

Name: Twilight
Duration: 314 s
Channel: Zootman
Description: Veeerrrry ammbbiieeent. A few treated accoustic guitar tracks, bass and minimal percs (LM buffalonugaluss and another I can't seem to track down). I'm sure only a few will listen right through, but in the right mood, five minutes can pass pretty fast.

one of my old instructors in earlier days used to say,,,if something doesn`t add in a meaningful way to the mix, take it out...will keep it in mind

Zootman replied 3rd Aug 2022 - 4 years ago

i hear exactly what you are saying, no pressure at all and I won't hold my breath. when i think about it i can't really imagine what i would add either. i wonder what beat measure program you use.... I have yet to work out how to do that in reaper, when I try it never seems to work. besides which, the guitars/bass on this were done off grid, only the wee percs have a bpm and that was 75.

not too long at all..needed all 5 min to let the sound carry me away with it...great to hear some of this kind of music on LM. My own efforts have gotten so mellow in recent times I seldom thought of posting on LM (keep a few posts going on SC) as I didn`t think there would be much interest. This is really well done with fab production values..paints the picture you title perfectly...keep on..Ed

Zootman replied 2nd Aug 2022 - 4 years ago

Nothing wrong with mellow Ed, don't let that stop you! Valve driver suggested in his comments on this track that he'd love to hear you lay some guitar on it. I have to agree! Thanks a lot for listening, I like to hear from you.

Zootman, WOW! What you’ve done here is exactly what I experienced sound wise at the Chicago Adler Planetarium IMAX Dome where the screen is in the ceiling and the seats recline back. Beautiful work, simply Beautiful!

Hi Mark, I could just imagine that! Thanks for listening and comment, and the fav!

Beautiful and dreamy ambience - soundtrack for falling asleep in a hut in the wet wilderness, slow gentle breath, a few random thoughts skating in and out and a sense of deepening relaxation and peaceful contentment ... I could have some more of this : )

Thanks Ian I always appreciate your ears, insight and encouragement.

Wow, Chris.
This is lovely and not too long at all mate.
Well-produced piece of music my friend.
Well done mate

Zootman replied 19th Jul 2022 - 4 years ago

Thanks for the vote of confidence Maj! This started out as a rather different track but kind of fell into this form almost by accident. I like accidents. Hope you're on the mend mate.

This is a great piece as it is. I do love the rolling pads. The bass has a killer tone and it fits so well. Not to take away from your work, but it's too bad Tumbleweed doesn't come around anymore. I'd love to hear what kind of sweet guitar he could lay down with this. I don't know that might be TOO relaxing. It would probably send people into meditative comas. Which, honestly, I could for one of those for about a week. Do a little catch-up down time, ya know?

Anyhow, excellent work. It's in the faves file.
Take care.
V.

Hi there, thanks a lot for the listen and fav! Always good to get some feed back, that's what I love about this wee community. The 'pads' are actually a couple of accoustic guitar tracks. And yes, I know tumbleweeds skills, he's popped up once or twice over the last year or so. I'd love to hear him on this, or anyone for that matter. Thanks again.

Hovering, yes I like that description. Thanks Michael.

Jkingz 15th Jul 2022 07:19 - 4 years ago

Awesome track ! Ive already been a big fan of ambient / chill down. Its really hard to find those lush pad sounds and mix them perfectly, but you’ve nailed it here. Faved for sure

Zootman replied 15th Jul 2022 - 4 years ago

thanks for the listen, comment and fav man, much appreciated. the 'pad' sound is actually a couple of accoustic guitars played by me, mixed together, double tracked, and panned, with a very long 95% wet reverb/delay on them, plus slowed down by at least a half.

theHumps 14th Jul 2022 11:25 - 4 years ago

I really like this kind of music, ambient, spacey, ethereal...

It's a nice piece, calming and peaceful, would be good for meditation. Well done!

Wayne

Zootman replied 15th Jul 2022 - 4 years ago

thanks Wayne, yes i find it quite meditative myself. i wonder if somehow our minds realise that the sound source is comes from something physical rather than electronic like from a synth, and that helps with the vibe?
