Last one for today listening to this SERIOUS TALENT. You know the Bass intro hooked me! I gotta get back to work. This is a serious tune. Enjoyed!! Fila

Fila, yep I'm a drummer with serious bass envy LOL! I just can't get enough bass in my musical diet. Doc said I got a bass deficiency so I go and do something like this! Glad you like this one as well. Thanks for checking this one out. Peace.

...and hey presto, another one! There are some really great sounds in this that evoke a certain musical era. I kept imagining James Brown shuffling onto the stage, to do the old cape on / cape off routine. The horns are the undisputed stars of this track but that Rhodes is stalking the measures also. This is a cracking track Mark - great stuff!

    Reply by kingmt77

Discipline, this tune is the result of being exposed to the greats of that era. So a couple of days ago I was listening to some old James Brown. What I noticed was that it had been many years since heard his earlier works, so when it comes to this tune I just implemented hitting on the "1" without realizing just where that came from. So your observation hit me. I hold a deep respect for your opinions, musical acumen, and our collaborations. But for you to call this a "Cracking Track" is a really big deal for me. Thanks for this listen and feedback.

It's strange, after using your content in the past I've programmed myself to hear the parts I arranged in remixes, so listening to it now feels like a remix, even though I didn't write it :D

Excellent of course. I don't remember that brief reverb drenched guitar in the original content, but I could've just forgot. Sax gets down pretty good. I like those high notes in succession. Also I think I'm hearing some new harmony (am I incorrect?). The flute part is my favorite (it's what's making "markenstein" get those likes).

Obviously keep it up, we could all use more music education.

    Reply by kingmt77

bringer, Thank you for your listen, comments, and most of all your support. And you noticed all the subtle changes (I just can't leave well enough alone). As soon as I add the drums and bass to your 3 tracks, I'm feeling another BOD-Jynxz-kingmt77 collaboration coming soon.

Hey Mark this is still a blinding listen, it's so nice to here a mix with so many instruments complimenting each other, but what I particularly like is that at some point each instrument gets a solo spot at the same time as being accompanied it really is great sounding funk

Awesome intro, is those Nylon strings on that bass? Great Mix. Love the elec piano solo. cool reverb VST effect. Some serious sax sounds. All in all awesome work mate as usual.

    Reply by kingmt77

crucethus, thank you much for listening and commenting. The bass was played thru a Digitech Whammy pedal, a beast in pitch bending and harmony shifting effects. The reverb I used is Valhalla Vintage Verb. Take it easy. M.T.

I like what you have done here! My 2c would be to work on the levels and the mix, I felt like they were all at the same level, give space for each instruments in the mix. IMHO.
    Just a thought.

    Reply by kingmt77

Alien, you giving this a listen is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your comments. Im two years in writing, composing, mixing and mastering so this is a whole new world. Im fortunate to have a good friend thats a pro in the industry that critiqued this for me before I uploaded it. I had percussion in this originally and he said was taking too much space from the drums but everything was excellent. Through the process of continual improvement Ill consider all feedback to help me to reach that goal. Peace. M.T.

Paz y salud.

Hey King, 3 in 3 days, you are a funky jazz monster, another really good listen, I'm normally a 3 min man, I'm a Street dancer so like variety but your funk keeps me listening, like my friend he's drum and bass does some really long pieces like 9 mins, but because he's now adding liquid parts the changes keep me listening, also notice your a fan of Herbie Hancock, I danced to his stuff growing up another good listen

    Reply by kingmt77

dimestop, welcome back, thanks for your kind remarks. Herbie is a virtuoso! And you street danced to his music! Amazing my friend. Stay tuned.
