Love the skip beat, wish it changed up a little bit in subtle ways like adjust the hi hat hits to break them up a bit, little things. Other than that i dig the idea. The guitars are very cool, sound great in the mix. The heavily fx part at the end was fantastic! Great producing, well done!
If you are interested in learning about NEUs! (the name is written with the exclamation mark) I recommend you listen to their first self-titled album from 1972, easily available on Youtube. This group is particularly representative of the German Krautrock, a little known musical current but fundamental in creating today's musical sensitivity in the electronic field. Best wishes
The minimalist and vaguely threatening arrangement of this song is very beautiful. The melody lurks under the rhythm to emerge at times like a predator under the surface of the water. At certain points your work reminds me of some of the most interesting songs by Neu (Krautrock 70 years). Best wishes
Appreciate it! I always found the melody to be vaguely ominous as well. Like an intrusive thought during a stream of consciousness. I've never listened to Neu. Do you recommend anything in particular or anything this songs you reminds you of by them?
Awesome chill track. The more I listened to it the more I liked it. Love the panning, especially in the beginning. The sample at the break was indeed unexpected, and that's why it's good! :) I read your backstory on what you were thinking while making this which is always interesting to hear. Great job though. Maybe your feeling of lacking in the production department is actually a benefit! ;)
Hi there, GrotiRoti,
I am a guitar/bass player too and I just love your song. To me it's pure, relaxed beauty. 5/4 is cool and used very rarely here on LM. The only thing I don't really get, is that it all sounds as if it's going on behind a curtain, but maybe that was your intention.
Have a nice day,
Michael
Thank you! The overall muddled sound is a bit intentional but also just representative of my lack of production abilities. Everything was recorded directly into an interface with no pre amps or anything. I only have audacity to mix with, so to keep everything from sounding too dry I rolled the treble off my guitars and drenched most of the tracks in reverb.
I think it complements the overall vibe well but I feel some stuff could shine and shimmer a little more if I knew what I was doing.
Wow what chill hop this is! Has movie feeling like romantic love story. I certainly vibe to this. Vox is cool wasn't expecting that at break lol. Awesome work!!
Thank you so much! It actually does have a bit of a narrative to it, or at least a character scope I latched on to as I was arranging it. The instrumentation is very chill but the time signature and pulse feels kind of anxiety inducing to me. So I wanted to capture the feeling of being busy but sort of lost in your own head and detached for better or for worse.
In short, it's about a person going through the grind of catching a late night flight (a red eye), mindlessly going through the motions of boarding said flight, nearly missing it (perhaps intentionally), and finally taking off (or landing) and snapping back to reality to do it all again. That's the ambiguous story the vocal samples tell, anyway.
The guitar at the very beginning and end to me symbolized an alarm clock going off. Representing the repetitive, daily grind. The noodling guitar lines feel like the mind wandering elsewhere and the bass is desperately trying to pull it back to the present.
But you can interpret however you want! That was just what I used myself to make it feel a little more cohesive.
This song strikes a very personal chord with me. I've never been so moved to create or collaborate with anyone before, so if its ok with you, ill send you whatever I can contribute to an already amazing piece!
I really appreciate it! Feel free to download it and mess around. I always thought some light synths could sound good or sparse vocals here and there. Maybe some spoken word over the "Last call, please proceed urgently" section. I'm open to try whatever.
Description : Headphones are recommended for a more immersive experience :P - - - A weary American soldier is walking through the remains of what used to be a small town in the middle east, only to rediscover the horrible reality that sometimes war can affect even the ones who have no part in it.

This is my first attempt at creating a virtual environment to tell a story and convey emotion. Hope you enjoy! Comments are welcome!
Description : the other end of the scale from me, yep people, this is a ballad. its for all the people who have lost somebody long before their time was due,
i used my experience of tragic loss and how i hid my mental health issues that stemmed from it while writing it, its repetitive but has fresh verses
its to Matthias music Du Bist Nicht Mehr Hier almost the same title, He has suffered too that's why he wrote the music and dedicated it to his brother. i hope i have done it justice
Description : This track contains several loops, all of them are from looperman artists - listed below. I don't know if "ambient" fits well for it, but i get most loops from that category. :)
Inspired by the Final Fantasy series and my ex girlfriend. Hope you will enjoy it (not my ex! :D). As always, free to use for a song, any opinions-critics welcomed... UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!
Description : Working with DarkKZ by Beatskillz, Synthmaster 2.9, Waves Bass Fingers, Microtonic drum synth, Izotope nectar 3 elements, Ozone 8 Elements & several other plugings I'm trying for the first time. The vocal samples are from Ghosthack, LANDR & Sampleswap. Hope you like it. Cheers.
Post script: The word "Ambient" has come up several times in the comment section for this, so I switched the genre to that. Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.
Description : Ambient, psychedelic chill out rock or something or rather. Lyrics, vocals, guitars and keyboards myself. One drum loop used (free Loopmasters ambient pack). If you want a bit of a back story on the words check the lyric page.
Description : I made this with Garageband and was inspired by Anime music, such as Naruto. And if you noticed one little part is very similar to one of the melodies.
Description : Depression and sadness can sometimes serve as motivation for creativity as in the case of this track. A few months back I went through a period of loosing a few friends and co-workers. Attended a few funerals and as a result found myself reflecting on life. One night I had the urge to try to transfer my feelings into music and this is what came out. Some baratone guitar accompanied by synth and accapella.
Final EDIT: Further tweaking on levels and a slight change up in the timimg of the choir section.
Description : Hello,
this is a track between composition and cover.
Amandine (Sova Berry or Dine on soundcloud) made a cover of the a cappella "Song of Sophia" by Dead Can Dance.
I liked it very much, so i decided to make an instrumental with her vocals.
Hope you'll like it and if you want to comment, you are welcome, whatever you think.
Bye
Description : Ambient, Chill Out, Cinematic .... I´m not sure ... Take your headphones. Close your eyes. Start the engines and have a ride into the unknown. A spacy little trip from somewhere into anywhere outside. - U_P_D_A_T_E - I made a video to this track. So you can enjoy now the flight with open eys. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON4u0bRZJ4k
