A classic funk track from the 70's, featured in Cheech and Chong's "Up In Smoke".
I have always loved this song and also love to perform it. It's a fun one with a really tight groove.
I am performing vocals, bass guitar, rhythm guitar, harmonica and the casaba. MIDI instruments used are drums, timbales, cowbell, shaker, horns and tenor sax.
Hey Mark,
this has always been a favorite of mine too and you're doin an excellent cover here. Your voice suits perfectly, and damn - it makes me wanna roll (another) one ....;o)
Greetings from germany,
Michael
This song is very "understatement" ... everything is so relaxed and still it have groove.
Well done.
If I have to find a "critique point" ... the rhythm is a bit too "loopy": it would be interesting to hear more of a live feeling on drums and bass.
But I am nitpicking here... great production!
And probably I already told you this some time back, you have a very good voice.
Relaxed but interesting.

TYVM for the compliment. I am glad that hearing this brought back good memories.
Sorry to hear about your father. I lost mine in 2015 and my mom in 1995.
what a groovy 3 mins...bass guitar is frantic as your vocs too...the atmosphere was very special for me...not a typical funky song...special build up...no chorus for example...really cool...
Description : This is kinda like a funky electro acoustic type thing. Definitely our funkiest piece yet, trying to explore a few different genres here, hopefully you enjoy it! :)

Description : Continuing my journey with sampling. This was mostly an accident, and not where I originally thought it would go but I'm happy with the destination. I started with the track Real Reel Switcher by Eunice Russ Frost, which has a slower melancholy swing to it, however I've been playing a bunch of older video games lately, with SSX being in the mix heavily, so this track ended up taking on a bit of that for inspiration as well. Would love your thoughts.

Description : Updated 12/2/2022. This is an interesting redo of a funky and fun composition. I gave it more polish by switching to a different drum kit, swapped the flute solo for a synth, then infused more flavor into the guitars, bass and organ. Then lastly tweaking the final master. Can you tell the difference? Let me know. Enjoy.
Description : This is the first production for STAR TRAVELS in collaboration between MICKY (LM) and JYNXZ (LM).
