Description : Here it is the --- Midisparks feature Stephanie Kay Hussar - Stars collide - Fresh Dance Remix by Joe Cramer. Everything is remastered and the drums are now complete. In my opinion, it's a really good song. Stephanie sang very well, Midisparks composed excellent music, which I expanded, edited and mixed a bit. --- Dans original mix can be found here on looperman - https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/189042

So I am back listening and loving this version. I'm not analyzing but getting absorbed in the beauty of it. And that's when we reach the moment of art and genius. I love the ending on the drop BTW, that is outstanding. Thank you for the download and fav'd accordingly.
Great Job
Steve
I was surprised to hear a song such as this when I hit play on your profile! Definitely not what I expected!
I found it to be a sort of timeless pop song in many ways, and that is meant as a compliment. It is possibly even pop enough to make it so I wouldn't listen to it unless it popped up on the radio (also rare for me).
This comment by jamid I found interesting - "Yet again wonderfully constricted and arraigned."
It may be simply a matter of difficult translation from a non english speaker, but this is something I would have taken initially as a bit of an insult. I should probably be less sensitive!
Seriously though, It was an excellent song. Though I have not heard the original, I can say that this is a cool remix!
Surprise, surprise ...... do you remember this old song - this is what you want and this what you get - ... just a joke. You know that i am mostly anywhere around the minimalistic, dark, hypno body wave, side of music. And sometimes i love to switch and do different stuff and in this case i loved the idea of doing a pop song/dance song and not a joe cramer song. Dan's song is way more "freaky" then this version but this version shouldn't be else "freaky" cause it should be a pure pop song. I tried to stand behind the idea of a pop song. How should or better say must a pop song be that even a joe cramer would maybe listen to it. And that is what you got :)
And you are right that you maybe a little sensitive (about Jamids comment) :) but i didn't realized it before you point it out - great
I am always happy to read something from your hand Spiv.
Nice to know that you invest some time into stuff i do, even when it is something like real pop music. Be sure the next one will be more a real joe cramer one.
I think you did a great job remixing this song. Though both are good, I found the drums more enjoyable in this one, and the mixing and mastering sound more precise (arp synths spaced out nicely for example) and powerful (the drums feel like they have more power behind them). Excellent work.
Hello Sheen, thank you for the nice and gentle comment. Sounds like i have done it not the badest way. Really good to know that you found time to listen to both tracks and sure good to know that you could hear what i had done.
Hi, Joe. I really enjoyed this remix. Haven't listened to the original version, but liked this one a lot! I agree with you, Stephanie did really nice vocals on it. I see that you've got all sorts of detailed comments from other members. Crucethus' comments are great. I wish I got that kind of attention and advice on my tracks. I liked the mix. I did think the level of the drums could be scaled back a bit in the mix and still keep the driving dance feel that it has. If the high hats are on a separate track, I'd dial them back and maybe roll off the higher frequencies a bit with an EQ. But, that's probably a matter of taste. I'm recognizing more and more as I listen to tracks from Looperman members, that I'm definitely stuck in an "old school" zone. I had someone tell me once that my stuff sounded "old school" and I didn't realize at the time that he wasn't giving me a compliment! :)
Hello Eric. Thanks a lot for your friendly words.
In a way i am also often "old school" and i think it is ok as long as you wanna make some "old school" stuff.
But sometimes i love doing different things. Like a new genre or style or collaborations and so on and in this case a remix/master. And if you wanna learn something new about yourself and music, then i have to tell you that a remix from a pop song (if you are like me not a big fan of pop music at all) will teach you so much .... strange but true.
Hallo Joe.
Hello Joe,
Yet again wonderfully constricted and arraigned.
However, in my view, the bass and tom are way to upfront both are the domineering factor of the track at moment.
I do believe they should be scale done by 4 to 6 Db at least to balance the mix.
Overall it is still a wonderful mix.
Great job.
Jamid
Thanks for your view. And i am mostly 100% on your side. I did already a better mix from that version. Oh i really love that one but now i done the last step and mixed it just a little bit different and added some kick and played a bit more with the frequencies. I just tried to do a real dance remix.
I am immediately taken by the intro. grande and majestic. the build with the vocals is amazing. the subtle chorus is sublime as well. then that drop. then the vocal section. which is good but it needs more dynamic separation here. Try in the mixdown lowering the gain and increasing your dynamic head room. because all your instrument placing is perfect and all your instincts are spot on. 2:58 is where your dynamics come together. you need that crisp bass sound in the earlier parts as well. the middle frequencies are too muddled together. now don't take this as a negative as this is easily fixed. And As I have said before to others I will only give this detailed of a synopsis and critique if I hear something of genius that is so close to perfection. Keep on it my friend I love what you are doing.
Steve
Thanks a lot for this wonderful comment Steve.
I took the track again into my kitchen and worked a little on it with your words in mind. It would be nice if you could listen again to the song and tell me if i did it wrong :)
Hey Joe! "what are you doing with this gun in your hand?" lol
nice remix but for me, if it's a dance sound, it needs a kick in the drums, i didn't hear it during the track ^^ is it a personal choice Joe?
Without this detail, it's a really good work! i didn't listen to the original, i'll do later :)
Hello Bleep
Thanks for your friendly words. Always nice to see people like you around who listen to some stuff i made and write some words to it. I am on your side with this kick drum in a dance track but i have to say that Dan hadn't a kick drum in his steems and i only used his stuff. But in fact i tried to bring one into the track but i failed and couldn't find a good sound and or a good way to handle it. So i said to myself - just take it as it is cause it sounds good in the way it is - :)
Hello Joe
Wow mate it is hundred percent better than the original.
It is really Garand braking mix my friend.
No disrespect to our friend Dan but your version is on the stratosphere mate.
Really really well done Joe

Nice to read that you really enjoyed the listen and liked what i had done.
I did my best to make this very nice song from Dan sound good. And after Steve's comment i worked on it a little more to make the bass sound on all places a little louder and hopefully improved the overall sound a bit. If you found some time i would enjoy if you could listen to it again and tell me what you think

Description : I have been using LooperMan for practice for some time now. This my most recent track. The only loop in the song is BabyGee's vocals. Free to download and if you repost tag me so I can share it as well.
Description : A psychedelic techno cello epic. It's not really techno as it's only 110 BPM but something like that (eg breakbeat), with lots of banging beats and arpeggiated acid synths, plus a whole load of my layered cello playing techniques. There aren't that many synths used but they do a lot of work and are carefully automated. No guitar. Drums are mostly a lot of drum loops, supported by a few programmed acoustic drumkits. Very busy and complicated with loads of different sections (funky, chilled, fast, heavy) that make up a constantly progressing trip. I don't know if there's any other cello music like this so let me know if you think there is. Interesting feedback appreciated - criticism, praise, ideas etc. Enjoy...
Description : Summer type dance track, for those precious 2 weeks off, if you can get them! Made around a selection of different loops and some keys from me.
Description : Inspired by an experimental percussion piece I heard. Rhythmic ticking builds into pounding beats and heavy soundscapes. I haven't done any mixing or mastering yet so tell me what you think. Any and all comments are welcome.
Description : A song about a damaged soul. Sadly, based on a true story. Gorgeous loops here are by Hardstyle Rythm, Aboe, and Princess Hollywood. All basslines by that fiendish genius Rasputin. Take a bow, gentlemen
Great Job
Steve
Thanks for all the time you invested and all the gentle words you wrote. I really enjoyed them.
