Composition/Arrangement/Instrumentation
Description : Music composed by Alex Richard and Laurent Wirz. With: Hanspeter Dubach Lead and rhythm guitars, Alex Richard Bass and rhythm guitars, Claude Barbotte Hammond organ, Jol Perrin Saxophone and me at the drums. The two grooves I used for this one are to find under Loops and Sample, member laurentwirz, reggae. Also an excellent loop from member ebae. I have to say that I asked Michael Mayo before publishing it but I received no answer yet. It was pretty difficult with his acapella because it's a pretty short loop with not a lot of words (for an almost 5 minutes track)! You can ear also some background vocals from Patricia Edwards and I hope it's okay for her.
Description : Vocal stem available in Acapellas section :)

Description : A quick idea I did in one day, 2 mixes, more an exercise for myself than anything serious. Inspirations were a Peter Tosh docu for the reggae feel, a surfing vid on what a point break was for the vox, the Ace of Bass vid The Sign for the drums and Jaco Pastorius song Crisis for a bit of inspirational bass thrown in. 2 drum loops used and a vocal effect loop for the heck of it in the middle, he. Live percussion, cabasa, guiro and double maraca. Me on git, bass, vox. Here comes Summer!

Description : Quick song, nothing special. But nice chill music.
Thank you so very much. I will put your links up.
I am putting together a radio stream in memory of my son who died of cystic fibrosis and wondered if you would give me permission to use this track, and others which you have uploaded. The stream will be ad free and will not pay royalties, but it will be linked to a website on which I would be happy to give you a credit and any links you might like.
Excellent Joe!! See if you can sing reggae you can sing some blues ;) for the male choir maybe you could try fading the individual oohh ahhhs in and out may help it not feel so computerized. I know what you're saying about get started on others and never get back to older ones, I got a ton! that never got finished.
hello Joe.
I really like this version a lot. Adding that another background vocal layer was some very nice little change. from around 2:41 it sounds cool:) solid structure and perfect length for a song.
somehow that background male choir loop seems like it is still a bit too computerized but I really enjoyed all updates.
your song reminded me of one piece from danish group Analogik: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AalMTXaiWzc
Will you be reworking this once more again?
Very fine work!
Nice day to you, Alex
I think the new addition is very fitting to the song. Its now a song of proper length with a catchy ending.
The only thing is at the end my ear is telling me the song should end at 3:34.
Why? Because at 3:12 the fade out is clearly noticeable and it indicates the beginning of an 8 bar outro, and you did a 12 bar outro.
But thats just my opinion its not breaking your song lol. Its just what my instincts tell me. I think from 3:12 to 3:34 it serves the purpose of an outro and the extra 4 bars are not needed.
You killed it with this one. I liked the vibe to it. Good job with the lyrics too.
Its unlike any reggae I've heard before.
At 2:28 you repeat something and the vocal play goes great with the music.
Nice track!
Cool track Joe...
SOLID PROJECT...
Peace...TG.
Joe!
Normally, I hate these one themed songs but yours is the exception...I'm not an expert of reggae but I would imagine a bombastic chorus (I think, this is out of this genre's standard)...but why not?
Loopers are all from the greatest so you had to pay attention...:-)
This song otherwise balancing between ska and reggae...I tell you, who is the top man in both genres...:-) :-)
Anyway, it's a good track, dot!!!
With appreciation, Danke
Great song man! The instruments were on point, was the guitar real or virtual?
Not your every day reggea and a lot darker but love the idea. When i heard this song it reminded me on this dutch song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGf_RFcqkvY
I dont know why :p
Sehr schn gemacht und mchte es hren wenn es ganz fertig ist!
This is a really lovely listen. A very original, unique take on the reggae genre.
Hey, another winning song by you! I read the english translation, and I really like the lyrics/message! You captured the reggae vibe very well, and it is unique hearing that style in a different language. You used some classic loop makers' work in here too, and it shows. Excellent work! Fave!
Wow, Joe...this was a sweet listen. Nice to hear some reggae flavoured track after a long time and you took all the necessary steps for not sounding conventional...on the contrary, the sound design is very inventive. Btw, some vocalisations reminded me on Yello (not a bad reminiscence).
Well done and keep up the good work
Cheers___Orlando
