Description : This is my track for this "ONE VST COMP" Ok, maybe it isnt a real competition and this track is maybe not realy rule comform, cause it has vocals. But all others was made only with one vst. No efects or else added. Only a EQ on the overall music downmix. This is a bit dark and the lyrics make it not better. Dont listen to this when you feel real bad. Like mostly, did i translate the german words and put them under the lyrics. BTW - i am not religious and the words are 30 years old and right now i do NOT believe that the apocalypse comes soon :) but it sounds so cool - comments are sure wellcome

When I listen to songs like this created by you, and read the translation to english, I always get the reinforced feeling that I need to move to Germany sooner rather than later. If these lyrics communicate your true feelings, and there are others there who feel this way, then maybe I and my wife would fit in there. It seems like people in the US are so comfortable (and complacent) that I have grown to hate all of them, even family and those who were close friends. I firmly believe that the current course we are on as a human race will destroy everything which is of true value.... very soon. Your song speaks to me. Doesn't matter what synth you used here, you made an excellent expressive piece. Reminds me of when the only synth I had to work with was the Casio CZ-101. The good old days. Now it doesn't even turn on... I could fix it if I wanted, but it is like a shrine or grave stone in my studio. Amazing work! Faved!

    Hello Spivkurl

The lyrics are truely what i feel when i look around. When i wrote them i realy hateted all this "others" out there. Stupid little humans with no real live ...... Right now i am not so extreme any more but thats is maybe just the way how -being a father- change things to see. So right now i believe that it is not right now the time of the end :) and i hope that the times of the sighns isnt start already. But to be true, if i look around right now and think about the "others" i am not sure that this freaks will change the world to a better place......
And it is hard to say but i didnt found much germans with the same feelings about the world and the meaning of live :)
So maybe you will not find here realy where you looking for. Best way to get out of all this -problems- is just focus on yourself. Switch on your inner light and start to shine. Forget all others and be just a clear light with no needs in getting of anything. Be part of the "right feelings" nothing more nothing less.
Nice to know that this song gives you so much feelings.
So thanks for your comment and chareing your feelings and the fav.

    stay tuned my soulbrother

Great man. It's challenging to work with simply one VST. Impressive to acually create a track, good job.

    Hey jklice

Cool to know that you think i did a good job with this 1 vst.
This one vst thing reminds me a bit on the very old days, where we all just had one synth ...... so it is a kind of
    - back to the roots - (for me) :)

thanks for your kind words man

    Hello again.

Ah yes - Laibach. That's one of the groups I was thinking of but I couldn't remember their name.

Good to hear the apocalypse won't be happening in 2015. Let's put it off until at least 2016. I've actually done a huge amount of music work in the last two years. I've made a whole long album in just the last two months.

"i tryed to sound so much german that i could"

Yes, you did perfectly! Could not be more German.

Waiting two minutes for the vocal works fine because your ambient vibe and simple groove is easy to listen to and, while you're listening, it sounds like it's probably going to be an instrumental anyway so I'm not waiting for and expecting a vocal (as with a rock 'n' roll song).

I think what I wrote before was not clear. I wasn't saying that I would play this track for other people. What I meant was that I would not mind if I went round someone's house and they played this track, perhaps while we were talking or something. There's a lot of music that I choose not to listen to but son't mind hearing eg at someone's house or at a club or in a shop etc.

Best of luck with any more mixing and mastering. The track doesn't sound like it needs much more work.

    Thanks again.

In a way it is funny how much Laibach sounds, for an english ear, like a german band ......

Nice to know that you think it is already a good mix/master.
And i would love it, if you would listen to this song anywhere outside of looperman :)

    stay tuned

Actually a very good work for one VST. It feels like the beginning of a scifi movie or a thriller. Good stuff. Keep it up, make another one with one VST! :P

    Hi Joe.

From an English perspective (mine) this is so very, very German. That may sound extremely obvious as you're singing in German but I'm also talking about the music. Very minimalist and perhaps like some of the German bands from the 70s/80s who I don't listen to eg Amon Duul, Tangerine Dream. I'm not quite sure as I don't listen to those sorts of groups.

It's a cool, simple groove. Not really that dark - just melancholy. All the synth work sounds good and I like how you wait 2 mins to bring in the vocal. It's really very chilled out.

I wouldn't choose to llisten to this at home but would be happy for someone else to put it on. Also good soundtrack music. And it's well produced so congratulations again.

Finally, is it really the acpocalypse in 2015? If so, I better finish some of my many albums as that will probably be quite difficult in a post-apocalyptic world (maybe no electricity).

    Take care.

    Reply by joecramer

    Hello StaticNomand

Ok, first - NO, the apocalypse will not come 2015! :) Im sure. But if it brings you to work more on finishing music things ..... :)

I do this apocalypse thing since 1985/86 and there are a few difrent versions out - The first version was just - Apocalypse - all others get a year in the name, the year when i made it.....

This "german" thing is intresting, cause when i listen to this version, i have more stuff from the 80s in mind like Laibach and so but maybe the influens of this "older" stuff is sooooo big :) but i am not a real big fan of them (to slowly for me when i was young). That a german voice sounds german, ok sure and in this special case i tryed to sound so much german that i could. So you got that point and thats cool! Same with this "dark" thing, i just wrote - it is a bit dark .... a (deep) melancholic feeling goes for the most into the "dark" direction .....

I didnt go for this groove in the beginning but when i found that sound while playing with the vst, i know i had to use it. Sometimes (thats my opinion) music needs some time to come to the point where the vocals should start. And here the music just needs this 2 minutes to go there.

Nice to hear that you would play this for other people but you should maybe wait a little with that, cause this version isnt mixed and masterd realy. And i think i should do that, not for this comp thing but just for that track himself.

So thanks again for all the time you spend, until now, with listen to my music and all the friendly things and opinions you always write.

    stay tuned

Joe, this is so sinister that I love it. Great great work. Minimalist. Kraftwerk like precision with your Teutonic vox makes this just so so good. I love how it builds with a cool stereo pan mix and then that bass. I like yourself am not a fatalist and believe in all that apocalyptic BS, but if there were an end, I would believe that this tune would capture the zeitgeist with the utmost accuracy my friend.

    Reply by joecramer

    Hey Crucethus.

what a friendly comment. Nice to know that you believe it captures the Zeitgeist of a going down world :)
Cool that you think the vocals work with the music and the idea of the song. Sure it is dark cause it must be dark at the end of the world :)

yes ...it is a bit dark in both music and song Joe...but you have accomplished a lot with just one vst and it follows your intentions well...good job....Ed

    Reply by joecramer

    Hello Ed.

That was right the point i try to go to. Make a track with just 1 vst and let it sound mostly so that it fits to the idea behind.

Nice that you think it works in a way.

-When i started making music (at least 35 years ago) we did all our music just with 1 cheap yamaha keyboard (i forgot the name of it, but it was a mini key one, with a very easy ADSR thing) and it works well) So i think it isnt to hard to do a track just with just 1 vst ......

    stay tuned

Awesome sound! Fits the title indeed. Very dark. Wasnt too big of a fan of the SFX towards the end due to them being too high pitched and it conflicted the deep sound/vocals you had going on the entire track.

    Reply by joecramer

    Hi King Vortex.

Nice that you take yourself the time to write a comment to this little piece of music.
I think i will do a rework of this track, cause i had a lot of audio problems and could not realy "play" the music, just programming it.
So lets see how it will sound then :)
In a way i can understand your opinion on the SFX but on the other side, i love it right the way it is ..... mmmmm but maybe it is a bit to much.

Thanks a lot for your friendly words

hi Joe, I am not religious as well. But still it is a bit dark sounding piece here so ultimately it's a kind of apocalipse going on when considering the middle age sound-image. reminded me of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYjJSEKtyvQ
nice take on one vst contest and songwriting. alex

    Oh, Ingmar Bergman, wow.

Nice to here that you like the songwriting.

And right now, i am on a point where i can make realy much easyer/better music then i done it here :),
cause i checked out all my midi/audio/asio/daw/win8.1/vst problems and fixed them :)
.... NOW I CAN PLAY AND LISTEN at the same time and also can change things while playing ..... jippy :)

If i see or better say listen to the other tracks in this comp/contest, then i think i should do a real mastering and so on ;) cause noone does a real only one vst thing

Thanks for your nice comment Alex, i let me watch, at least 30 minutes, old Ingmar Bergman movies. (this new internet age is a real cool thing)

    stay tuned
