Listen To SMILE Jazz Song By MichelleSakim At Looperman.com

20th Nov 2013 20:00 - 12 years ago
Description : Produced and written by Michelle Sakim. This is A track I writ produced in 2007 in my bathroom. The drums, and bassline are copyright free samples. With a classical guitar played by myself. I basically made the beat and recorded the lyrics within a couple of hours. On Acid 4. It definitely needs a better mix. Please take a listen. I will appreciate your feedback. And will return the favour by checking out your tracks to. Blessings to you

i love hearing well-mixed percussion because i am feeling my way through this particular dark tunnel lately. the singing is beautiful and the mixing is excellent. the mood/genre is some sort of beautiful element of bassa nova sound. it's a beautiful listen. big congrats. much success.

Hello. I'm also only very occasionally a fan of r'n'b though I do love No Diggity.

However, I can hear a lot of talent here. Lots of vocal ability and I find that guitar interesting. It has a nice lilt and tone to it.

Both the mix and recording need to be improved as they're totally letting the song down. I think there's a lot of noise on the vocals and guitar (it's more obvious without the beat)so recording process needs to be better worked out. If not (or maybe as well) noise removal tools can be employed to help remove some of it.

Ah, I've just read it was made (recorded?) in your bathroom. It does actually sound like that as I can hear the bathroom sort of reverb on it.

I can hardly hear any bass on this and was going to ask if you plan on adding a bassline of some sort. I now see there's some sort of bass sample in there though I still can't really hear it.

Also, the track's a bit short.

Good work but I hope you can improve your recording and do this song the justice it deserves.

hello Their!

Thank you for your feedback. Definitely need to do what you mentioned above. Its just a demo as far as I'm concerned and would love nothing more than to record it with a live band. In a real studio. Redo the whole thing. Bathroom is not the best place to record. Any tips for recording would be appreciated.

But I'm glad you can here the potential. I am a performer and recording is not my best quality still learning and need to work at techniques. Thank you Static Nomad I really appreciate your comment. Blessings

Sweet track! Love the voices

Could do with smoother mix and a gentle pad in the back at times.

Very good vocal track! Agree to Spiv: we have a new star here on looperman!
You should only clean up the mix a bit, this is top class material and it deserves the best!
Ciao, Domenico

First let me say, I'm not a big follower of RnB music. This is a fabulous soulful track! This would be just great in a film of some sort! I really like your vocal style, it sounds like we have a new starlet in our midst! Can't wait to hear more!

Jazzy in most of the aspects. It is made single handedly so please consider it an experimentation for the thrill of making music.

Description : "Oh no - not jazz metal! You're not supposed to mix those genres together." Yes, but someone's got to and the musical gods have chosen me for the difficult task. 9 mins of instrumental jazz metal - damn I sure know how to write a hit song - US No 1 here I come. Anyway - there's some dark, swinging groovy jazz, with Rhodes and guitar as the main instruments, for a few minutes and then some haunting, thumping evil breaks loose. Look out for the powerful synth horn sound. And then it just gets heavier and heavier before returning to some nice chillgroove funky mystery jazz. Instruments played and/or programmed: electric guitar, bass guitar, electric cello, multiple programmed acoustic drumkits, filtered strings, Rhodes, big synth bass, evil synth horn and a few other assorted synths. I assume this has too much jazz for metallers and too much metal for jazzers. So, only for weirdoes like me who enjoy both. This will surely be too odd for most people but I like to think it's pretty interesting and powerful. Let me know how its weirdness worked for you...

Description : Something a bit different from us. I (Bobo) played guitar, synth, midi bass and percs to this piano loop by LM's most excellent Rasputin. Wataya, stoned as usual, thought he heard Barbara Streisand singing. This is the result.
