Hello ....

A track that I replay with pleasure .... A concept of high precision, with a very attentive development of this piece .... in short: "meticulous work" .... ^O^

Love the subtle nuances. Love the somber tone, that isnt too overbearing, but still leaves room for light at the end of the Dark Corridor.the chimes playing thru from start to finish, give it that drone effect, that keys you in and keeps it locked. Dig the keys, drums, and guitars. But (being the type of person that is always looking for that certain sound of subtle movement to latch onto),I'm really diggin that vox element and the panning on that lil clicking sound...but im kinda kooky like that.lol.........Great Work

I would say thats a perfect review, because it sums up every little effect and element i had in it. Some people tend to listen to the music as a whole, and some people shops up the music or tune in their heads and starts to listen to the small things that makes the difference in the end. Seemes like we have a lot in common (so far:) )

Big thumb up and thanks for the review and ill make sure to return the favor..

ominous intro mate, diggit... especially cool how you hold us in anticipation with the contrast of the drum track and synth lines, then when the arp'd synth comes in, it's perfect and doesn't get boring before it's gone.

definitely remix worthy, love the 'western' sounding guitar, ethereal yet foreboding and reminiscent of coming home. nice work

love the common change ups with additional motifs flowing in & out, good touch. wow, some of those sub-bass, growlers kill me man, did i say definitely remix worthy ? lol, betchya people'd love to have the chance, just a thought.

excellente,
visher

I shall see what i can do, im currently in process of creating an additional site (not named yet, tho) where i publish .rsn files and specific own-created stuff as loops and well.. The problem here is that my loops are long as hell, because im still a big fan of variation in the loop, witch makes it a "non-loop" if you read through the LUA here on looperman for instance.. So there for there hsnt been any loops-upload on this site from me "yet".. but im working on it. Every tune i have on here is up for grabs tho in its own specific state, so if you can make something out of it as it is by adding, extracting, pitching or whatnot, feel free to do so..

And im also glad that you enjoyed it.. Thank you once again for the comment..

i relly like this, its a rewarding journey with just enough to stop it being repetitive (but i dont like anything that doesnt alter partly every 8 bars lol)and if you were struggling with that kind of latency its even more praise worthy !!

Decnet replied 4th Dec 2012 - 12 years ago
That has to be one of my main problems.. Both good and bad i suppose, When creating tunes i always start out creating a loop that sounds aweseom in my ears and to quote Brillbailey in a previous review "I wrapp the rest of the music around the loop". By doing this there is always at least "one sound" or "loop" that follows through the entire tune, making it (if you concentrate on that specific sound) repetetive, BUT at the same time trying to alter it all by using sounds that steals the attention of the main loop..

aaah.. sounds like blabbering jibberish but you are probobly an intelligent being and knows exactly what im talking about.. lol.. anyways.. Thanks for the comment!

Hey D. We don't care what software you use. It's all good as long as it sounds good. And this one is a really cool song. Very melancholy and moveing. a very emotionally felt song. More later. Your fighting through the computer problems in fine form keep it up!

2 weeks later and heres a reply.. (i NEEEEEED to get faster at replying.. lol.. but blaming it on too much work, too much kids, and my clock seemes to be supercharged and the time just flies...)

Thank you Ed anyway, and i still think this is a great initiative.. Its fun to see that even when quiality suffers and the tune in my ears didnt come out as expected its still audiable to others. Feel good.. thanks again mate..

this one is rather dark... alsom somewhat melancholic and a tad frustrated, at least thats what it sounds like to me.
That eerie, slightly bitcrushed glockenspiel-thingy is a awesome in my opinion and that overall slightly low quality (meaning the quality of the file, NOT the quality of the music itself) actually somewhat fits the track for it gives it a somewhat detached, foggy and nearly suspence-horror-edge... and it has a nice drive while being chilled at the same time...

you really don't stop to amaze me mate. Big thumbs up!

so far~

PS: this really does sound like D'n'B with half-time drums...

Detached, foggy, susepence-horror-edge... I like that description.

When it comes to genre.. well.. I suck at placing them in the correct section so, mainly i say either "techno, Industrial, or chill" depending on the mood.. Ill might sort this one correctly one day..

Anyways, Loved the comment, loved the description and stay tuned for more.. Ill make sure to drop in and give a listen to your work as well.. ///Dec

Real chill, like the vibes. the eerie glockenspiel type of sound gets a little repetitive for me. The drums almost makes this a slow liquid drum and bass type of song, but i'm not the type to be a genre nazi. Alot of the sounds fit quite nicely together too. I would of like some of the high end to come up a bit more, but i'm guessing that's due to the length and the quality had to be squashed in the long run. I would of also liked to hear more variation, it's just a tad too forward for me. Although that's how i usually like a song to be structured. The kick could also come up a little more for me, but the snare is at the right level. Overall, a pretty solid track. like it. keep it up. Peace out.

Thanks mate for the analysis.. When i did this tune a lot of things didnt really go as planned, and the only thing that whent with it was the liveplay of the piano. I always record the piano at the side together with the tune itself to make it project emotions, well, my emotions to be exact.. The quality of some of the specific sounds got ruffed up when going from 48k to 22500 and theres a audiable difference when listening to the original on my puter at the correct hertz.. But i hear you, and if i ever bring this tune to life again ill might consider what you said, but for now, this tune is at rest.. so 2 speak..

Your music comes from the heart

I cant read music,so i go on feelings!how a song takes me,how music paints a picture as i drift along it's waves

This is what music is all about to me,its an external expression of internal thought!

I feel this, you've captured your thoughts in this for sure!

I wish for your tomorrows to give you a break!

Life, love and unity to you and your loved ones!

Thanks Brill.. I hope i took you on that emotional jurney when listening to the tune. As long as I can publish something more than just a basic drum and commersial fiddle into it, im good.

Emotional touch if you could call it that.. :)

Thanks again Brillbilly. ///Dec

It is true that often the music is a reflection of a certain behavior inside a state of soul.
Also true that it is not always enough to have lots of money for make, music tracks, as I listen right now.
My humble opinion is that this is an excellent piece, created with a good basis, and instrumental in some detail, very meticulous. I really appreciate ....
It is also a privilege to be able to express themselves musicallly ....
Good luck for the future. You have talent ....

I like it..I tend to like dark, moody songs/instrumentals

As for the quality, maybe my ear isn't as sensitive as I like to think b/c I think it's fine..prob not professional/studio quality, but definately far from "pure shit" LOL. Though you may not have the best equipment or software, you know how to use it to your advantage, and that's all that matters. :)

Im using reason and a CME-synth mainly and liverecord every tune with the piano and synth sounds with prerecorded drumbeats and ambiance. But today my PC wanted to do shitload of stuff in the background of processing witch made the latency of my keyboard up to 7 ms and completly unplayable so i fiddled with the audioquality instead of waiting for the computer to be finished with background activity´s.. lol.. Im lazy.. lets just call it that.. :) Anyways, a big thank you for your comment.. Ill make sure to keep you in mind when it comes to gloomy tunes in the future since its one of my favorite ones as well. //Dec

the drumloop is really cool too

Thank you for the comment!

When it comes to the "sadness" behind the song i often do music thinking of my sons life.. Im glad that you noticed the gloomy appearence of the tune. My sons mother is an alcoholic and most of my tunes never gets published since i try to musicalize his thoughts and what he might be thinking.. Its a rough reality out there, and im just trying to make a beat out of it. /:)

After moving to the city one sunny day I was telling stories to a friend about living by the sea and started making this track.

Description : I used some new "Anthem" pickups from L.R. Baggs on my Martin acoustic to see how it performed, and it definitely beat my expectations. Captured the sound perfectly as I needed.

Anyhoo, this song is almost a prayer, hence the repetitiveness of the verses. As Christians, we believe that God will one day return and take away every suffering and all evil for good; in that regard, this song is almost one of waiting too. Very simple, with vocal harmonies and whatnot. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it. Made in 13 hours.

Someone else wrote the words, I was just inspired to use them. I only added the "Yeah" and "Amen."

Description : So a guy buys a nice guitar at a pawn shop but returns it a few days later after waking from a sound sleep to hear it playing by itself. When he tells of his experience he is shocked to learn the owner had actually died while playing it. Is it fantasy or truth? Is the guitar in this track that very same guitar? Its all part of the mystery and fun of Halloween !
EDIT: modified ending to a deeper voice

Description : A progressive journey incorporating deep ambient chillout, swing jazz, hip hop, d'n'b, trance and a slight touch of acid with a thousand ninjas battling in space. Features a great deal of my lead slide resonator guitar playing. Also a whole load of synths, programmed acoustic drum kits and manipulated drum loops, big basslines, regular electric guitar, vocoded guitar parts and bass guitar (distorted right at the end). If you like deep chill, far out soaring beauty, fat beats and 170 BPM uplifting slide trance controlled mayhem, you might just get into this. In my heaven there is an endless supply of honey mangoes (an exquisite beauty of the fruit world) and even more slide guitar. A 1,000-year-long version of this track plays there on a loop (long enough not to get bored of it) but here I offer you the Earthly 11 min version. You must be very good to be accepted into my heaven to hear the full thousand year version so best start now. It may be heaven's main theme tune but it's not above criticism so feel free to let me know what you think of it. Maybe you prefer the soundtrack in hell. I hear it's pretty badass...
