on Purple King by SeaDog
Ahh that first note, my heart just skipped a beat. I love DP and Rainbow. I love how John Lord left his Hammond for his replacement in retirement Don Airey. RIP John, good work this song is awesome

Thank you, my friend...I'm glad you liked it!

Well, the Hammond sound is one of the most difficult instruments to render digitally because it has that ... very analogic peculiarity!

So this is only a "synthetic" view of the original monster!

Thanks again for listening and for your kind words!

on PASSIONATE SOLDIERS by GeePeezy
Nice workings of Minor 2 go's awesome loop, I have used this exact loop before myself in one of my tunes. I like the bass-line on this as well. Nice job.. See you even got an atheist to comment on your song ;-)

on stress by Sherris
Awesome, this is brilliant. I love ambient music and you combine elements of ambience, atonality, dissonance, chillout and deep dark electronica that breathes as if it has it's own soul. good work!

on Come Alive by imwesharris
Nice, love the syncopation on this. Hip hop & Rap are really starting to take influences from other forms of music (Jamaican, reggae, dub, ringbang)(Jazz) (Step) (Minimalist electronica) and it's getting interesting. This piece is interesting!

I agree! I think that's the beauty in music. There's no limit on it. And how a culture can be shaped and inspired by other genres

on I Cant Save You from Yourself by CitizenMofo
I am Impressed Citizen Mofo, you are doing an awesome job of creating some very interesting pieces of music on this site, keep it up. I love the disjointed feel of this piece with the pella-vox having a very indie feel as well. good work

Thanks, crucethus, it makes me feel really good to get such comments from real musicians. Without the loops on this site, without others' work to build on and with, I could do absolutely nothing. Can't sing, can't play - helpless. But with this site and the mutual support of its membership, I am all-powerful! What a deal. Thanks again, man - respect.

on Im Not a Machine by CitizenMofo
Very nice, you are exploring Laurie Anderson territory with this piece.
CitizenMofo
CitizenMofo replied 7th Jul 2013 - 12 years ago
Thanks for the listen and comment, crucethus. I wasn't familiar with Laurie Anderson and so watched her video "O Superman" on youtube. Yes, strange, wonderful stuff, and I can see a definite lining-up of sensibilities there. Thanks for turning me on to this and helping me learn something.

nice work my friend. Good trance-house feel with an underlying element of jazz. right at the fade out at the end you were doing a breakdown that sounded interesting to me. I would love to hear where you were going with that!

on Charle funk a doodle by RichieWinn
I just finished my listen and I would say that this is not house, it's more of a funk-jazz fusion. If you change the beat to a more 4 to the floor house sound of which it has the potential to be a massive jazz-house tune. That being said, it's a really good tune on it's own and I enjoyed listening to it.
RichieWinn
RichieWinn replied 8th Jul 2013 - 12 years ago
Funk jazz fusion it is then! OK I'm learning all the time and maybe sometime I'll change the drum pattern to a four on the floor variety and see how it sounds. Thanks for listening and appreciate your comments.
