Clever.
Lily und Wulf I don't know but she sounds wonderful.
Shamoozey I'm familiar with and find something very interesting about his voice. But hell it's so far out off the norm that he's very difficult to do anything with.
For me that is.
You've pulled it off here and made an interesting piece.

Hey Silverman,

Thanks for listening. I wasn't aware of Lily und Wolf either before last Thursday. I was just scrolling through the female acapellas while playing my raw track. And there was a perfect match. And as far as Shamoozey is concerned, to be honest, for me, because he is out off the norm, he is rather easy to work with. This is my 4th track in which I used his vocals. He just gives my clean and software produced tracks a raw edge that I am looking for.

Anyway, thanks for your comment again!

on Here It Goes- by DaveThorne555
Don't put yourself down mate that's what we're here for!
No seriously I'm just an old fart who has a hobby and I post my stuff. Sometimes I get great feedback sometimes not.
I listened to it all the way through .... always a good sign and it sounds just fine to me. One criticism from me is .... needs a little more variety chucking in there.
DaveThorne555
DaveThorne555 replied 18th Mar 2016 - 9 years ago
You are right, I was thinking of using the repeat as a chorus and adding a new intro and in-betweens, kind of like 'rising nuclear sun' or 'I'm fine really'. This was just an experimental track I made and ultimately somebody wanted me to use it to remix their song. And I had to adjust it for better or worse to neutralize the tambourines in the background of his track. Not that it worked too well, but it sounded more interesting than the original. Looks like it will be a while before the new version gets uploaded. I'll probably do it in LMMS just to test-drive the software. Listening to your work you are definitely a long lost golden relic of the 90s will definitely follow some of your work in future. Danke's and Tumbleweed's works are already starting to shape my style and take it in new directions. Anyways, thanks for pointing that out. I'm lucky to such good feedback here, this is definitely a community full of quality musicians who too can be mentors with a few amateurs like me in between. lol.

on Touch Of The Irish Aka One For Ed by Orlando51
Wow powerful!
It hit my sadness button.
So so sad.
So many tears have been shed by so many people in this scene but at last it's over.
It will probably never be the same but at least it's over now.
Brilliant.
No no no I don't think the word brilliant is right here.
It some how takes away from the pain of the piece.
I'm lacking the vocabulary to use a different descriptive wor/phrase .... I'll be back.
Orlando51
Orlando51 replied 17th Mar 2016 - 9 years ago
Very interesting reaction I wouldn't think of..I mean, do
you really find it so immensely sad? In fact you're the first reviewer to mention sadness and even strongly emphasizing it ! I agree there are apparent waves of melancholy but I really wouldn't think of overwhelming sadness...Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely excited about your observation cauae it makes me really curious now and I would be glad to hear some more about your view...afteral you're saying you will be back...and you are most welcome my friend..:)

With much appreciation_____Orlando

on Xyilent - The Pavilion by XyIlent
I think this is more cinema than X-Box.
Very atmospheric and just tense enough to put me into anticipation mode.
Actually what do I know about X-Box?
Not a lot and thinking about watching my grandchildren playing theirs then I suppose there's not that much difference these days!
Great little piece.
XyIlent
XyIlent replied 17th Mar 2016 - 9 years ago
yeah theres not too much separation between the two these days, and where music is concerned there is virtually no difference. you could use one of the best movie soundtracks and fit them into a story driven game perfectly.

Im glad you enjoyed silverman :)
thanks for the feedback

on Dont let me go by RemDee
Definitely cinematic this.
There's a sadness to this with a positive time to move on kind of feeling.
It's the end of something
... it's over.
It's finished.
It's completed.
My work is done.

Very nice piece.

on Tang Butterfly World by DanGoldstein
Very interesting.
I love the weird side of creativity.
Next time I see a flutterby as my granddaughter calls them it's going to be a whole new experience.
There's a flutterby palace in North Wales and I stood watching a huge one tapping it's foot against the log it had landed on. Pointed it out to my wife and she said oh yes and look ... every other tap the opposite wing vibrates. Now I know why ... it'd been round your place!
But next time you see a flutterby charging up it's solar powered wings watch for the foot tapping and think .... Is it one of those aluminium ones from Monsanto?
I'm going to think of you and this place a lot this summer!
Unusual and wonderful.

it was a fine line between animating the butterfly and making a monster out of her (and the other insect sounds for that matter). yea - all the high self-esteem monarchs drop by my place for the latest moves, you are right. glad you got into it. thanks. Dan

on Orion by toastedavalanche
Nice little number.
Enjoyed listening.
I have no idea how these genres are arrived at. This to me sounds like something I would have listened to back in the early seventies from stoner hippy band ... that's a compliment not a put down. Just stressing I really don't the genre thing. My latest effort has the word God in it a few times so for once had no problem which label it was getting ... straight into the religious music group of course!
One criticism is ... I think the vocals should be a little clearer. Little sharper. Little bit more prominent.

I don't know either mate. I just panic and choose the first one that seems kinda right. But thanks for listening and for your thoughtful comments.

on pretty ricky beat by 85dcizzle
There's something about this that puts me slightly on edge.
There's a warning happening soon.
It might go bad any minute.
Be careful your a stranger in a stranger land.
It starts out clean and innocent and doesn't change much.
It's that lack of change that somehow injects the uncertainty in this uncertain world you take me into it.
Tense.
On edge.
Keep wanting to look behind me.
Paranoia building.
There's something you're keeping from me.
Make a great little background in a film scene.

Takes me back to when I had hair on top of my head and not only just on the bottom of my head like now!
Reminds me of something from Jillys rock world ... a club Manchester England 1978ish so it must be good!
I think the club's gone now.

on Junior Beatz- Something Interesting by juniorbeatz123
I wasn't expecting that voice to pop out!
I have no ideas about genres so trap is a meaningless term to me. I've just uploded a track and I swear there are more genres. What's the difference I'm thinking between electronic and electro?
What the hell is cronc? Can't wait to hear some of that .... maybe.
There's a spooky uncertainty to this that I can't quite put my finger on. Spooky old house or leaky old boat. But the way it's put together it has to be a fairly modern spooky house. Nice listen and I'm even downloading it if I can and that doesn't happen often!
Nice little number.

Sorry if I'm confusing anyone here I thought I'd popped back to the acapella not realizing there was already a track done. I've shortened my track that I made with this acapella is what I meant not this track .... I think I'll go for a lie down.

on BRAIN WAVES1 -Original Mix-instrumental by lechina
Very very nice sound and feel.
There's carnival here and calypso and coconuts and rum and sunshine!
Remember sunshine? If you're in the U.K maybe not.
It'll be back and I can hear this playing away in my garden as I sip cool drinks and watch the grandchildren playing and the adults getting a little high.
This is sunshine in a bag!

on Uncle Johns Boogie by ScottB55
Love it and it sounds so authentic ... it's the real deal!
I've heard quite a few New Orleans funeral tunes in this kind of style but usually heavier on the bass drum because it's for a march.Keep telling myself I've gotta go out and buy some of this stuff and then forget. Thanks for the reminder.
This really does sound like the real thing and what a great ending! Faved and downloading now.

Not my kind of thing but you've created a great sound there.
Sounds the part and I know one of my sons would be bouncing all over the place at a festival or club to that.
I could imagine that easily being played in a club.

on In My Mind ft Oceanically by promenade2239
Very nice late night sound to this.
I love the way some of you use Oceanicallys voice and lyrics so professionally.
It's something I have to learn but am still struggling with.
This is nice and easy to listen to but there is no way I can get someones vocals into anything without it sounding like crap no matter how good the vocals.
Well done on a very professional sounding piece of work.

Very interesting sound here.
Magical and original.
I can't understand the words but how many times have you heard that since rock n roll arrived?
There's something not right though with the mix.
It sounds a little muddy but it could be my at the moment slightly muffled headphones but I haven't noticed that anywhere else this evening.

Wow that's one deep freaky sound!
I have no idea about these genres.
Just a great sounding tune to me.

Does that mean you're stuff is sometimes not free?

Well, a musician has to eat, haha! I have an older EP for sale, and I plan on releasing another one. I'm going to do some more mastering/mixing work on those tracks, but otherwise I am waiting for album art.

But, in all seriousness, I need to make some cash, here, soon. My PC's power supply is going out. And those mofo's are expensive.

Regardless, thanks for the lovely comment!

on Codera by skwishfish
What's this about an EP?
Extra long single back in my youth is that what it means today and does that mean you're signed with a label?
Sorry about my ignorance but I see quite a few people on here talking about releasing albums and EP's and tracks from albums and stuff. Are some of you making money?
skwishfish
skwishfish replied 25th Aug 2015 - 10 years ago
Hey there Silverman!

An EP in today's lingo normally means "Extended-Play", but as most artists release EPs before they release LP nowadays I assume it is adopting more of an "Early Preview" definition.

As for a label, I am currently unsigned and release my own music privately. I produce, mix and master all of my tracks as well as print out all physical copies and merch out of pocket.

I have made money off of my EPs and LPs in the past, but currently the ones I have out are for free on my Bandcamp page. Check them out when you get the chance! You can definitely hear how I've grown as an artist.

Hope to hear more from you soon brother!

Best,
Skwish Fish
