What a nice and warm crispy intro...a real moodstarter. The progression is seamless and the distortion on the guitar somehow fits very well with the rest of the track(which is oddly satisfying). Nice piece of music you made here.

Thank you. Distortion doesn't always have to be thrashy. If you'd like to hear smooth distortion, a lot of Pink Floyd's music has great solos. There aren't many guitarists as smooth as David Gilmour.

Pretty laid back track, with one big difference and that is the subbass that puts some real heat in it. I think some rap storytelling would fit nicely. It definetly deserves some good vocals. Well done!

Sounds really good in a very weird way. Love the bass transition. The beat fits nice and has some surprising rythmical flavour. The reverbing fx fits like a glove. Nice work!

on Its my wrap by LOOPERGIRL13
Very creative and interesting track. Its very epic sounding with all of the orchestral loops that you used. I used magix in the beginning as well and it is good for starting producers. After a while you will notice that you are somehow restricted with the VST and mixing programs. Nevertheless a good production.

Nice to see another collab from you guys. The intro definetly has a Pink Floyd vibe to it. The transition to the rest is surprising yet very welcome. The Piano sounds really warm and goes well with the drums. Your collab made another pearl. When can we expect the album of you guys?

Very nice modern jazzy chill out track. the melody is catchy and constantly evolving. You made nice use of panning the sound to give the production a fuller body. You might turn down the synth sound a little as it is a notch too loud in my opinion. Still a very nice and original song to listen to. Tres bien!

on The Music Goes ft Michael Mayo UPDATED by darkhorsebeats
The track itself is pretty good. A nice variation of drums and percusion. The bassline is strong and the vocal shot is ok aswell. Problem is that the mixing is almost non existing. The sounds are all struggling which creates distortion. Try looking on youtube for mixing techniques. It is not that hard but will definetly give a boost to this track.

You should also add a little more vartiation as well. A bridge might work. Adding an extra melody or synth will help as well.

A good starting point for a nice track! Well done!

darkhorsebeats replied 17th Mar 2018 - 7 years ago
Thank you so much, this is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for :) It was a lot less murkier and then i started messing with the levels and volume on the instruments but I'll have to go back to the drawing board. It really is just a starting point at the moment and hopefully it'll sound better once I implement the changes you've recommended.

You have created some eerie sound here. The intro hooked me directly to the track. When the beat drops it all gets blended into a very nice composition. I like how you mixed in the vocals. The supporting melody is smooth yet unsettling. A big contrast but it works well in this production.
Well done!

Nice, nice Intro. Really gets the tension going. The drop really turns the track in a fastpaced dnb track. Really energizes the crowd when played in a club.

Thanks for the comment. This is my first track. So the track may seem raw. In a free time I think to change little bit the intro. Anyway thanks for the advice!

In short sidechaining makes other sounds lower when the beat kicks in. With heavy sidechain you got a pumping effect(which i dont like) but when used balanced it will make the mix more natural. But you have a lot of creativity and that is something you cant learn. Good job!

Nodog replied 24th Jun 2017 - 8 years ago
Hey Mudhoen i think i get the start of an understanding i'll study that tonight and try to get a grip of it im 63 going on 20 in my head but there is always something to learn every day thanks for making my day a better one. Best regards Robbie.

Nice use of theg loop. As DI already said, the sub complements the loop very good. Very clean mix. Maybe a hook or other loop to keep the tension. Nevertheless good stuff!

on Angel of light by Nodog
Very awesme intro....classical choir with some nice spacelike evolving pad. Creates a nice flow. You should use a bit of sidechain to let the drum pattern be in the mix instead of on top. For the rest it is a fun to listen to.

Thanks mudhoen your comment is appreciated i need to learn what sidechaining is all about i gather its a form of trigger. Best regards.

Nice to see(or hear) that you are busy making new stuff. Your vocals are great as usual and the beat fits perfect! Im glad to hear you have more bass in your voice than before which naturally comes with age of course. But it makes your vocals come out even more. Really looking forward to your new album. Your last was very good!

on Pavement Hitter by Spivkurl
Very happy to see another release from you Mr. Spivkurl. As soon as I hear the first note I hear the typical lo-fi synths combined with some crazy rythms, melodies and glitches. The bassline is beefy without overdoing it. The mix is great and very clear. Many thanks for sharing!

Spivkurl replied 15th Jun 2017 - 8 years ago
Thank you for again visiting my selection of songs!

My synthesis style is becoming even more spontaneous, if that could be possible. I don't even have most of my gear hooked up at the moment, so I just connect what I want to record, whether midi and/or audio.

There are some reorganizations going on in the home, especially regarding live performance and visual/concrete art. Can't help but feel the changes and the losses. We lost a huge section of our willow tree in a storm this week, a tree which we planted around our wedding time. Hard loss, but we were lucky.. leaning against the house it was!

I am picky about my subsonic frequencies. I'm not one of those mutha-frackers. Happy you liked the sound of it.

Have a good one!

Very nice uplifting Track! Love the intro as it instantly gets tension in the track and gets you interested in the rest of it. In the 2nd part after 2 minutes some notes are a little bit off. You might wanna check it out. After the drop its sounds very nice again although there are some false tones aswell in there. If you can clear that out you have a very nice and solid track!
