I dig it, man. I remember back in the early 90s when all of this was really taking off. I liked it then, too. It's something that I never really submerged myself in, but it was always on the outskirts of what I was doing, so I do still have a fond appreciation for it.
I absolutely love the intro. The sub and the kick are blended so well. I'm assuming you had to have sidechained, but I don't hear any ducking at all. Did you EQ the kick? It has the perfect mix of low end punch and that snap on the attack. It's very clear and present without overtaking.
The synth that comes in at 1:48 has a unique sound. There's a lot of dynamics and movement. You don't really realize on the first play through that the section leading up to it sets a perfect stage for it to really move around.
Another thing that is so well done here is the different textures of the bassline. For most of the track it almost has a Vibraphone sound to it, then at the start of the second dropout, it switches over to an almost harpsichord sound. Brilliant.
A lot of times people aren't sure where to go at the end so they fade it out. Not this one, I love the way you automated the ADSR from a high DSR into a pluck for the closing. Like slowly shutting the door on it, as to say "goodnight".
Good work, man. I'm thoroughly impressed. For such a minimal sound, you have a lot of work put into this. You should be proud.
Take care.

Thank you very much for your extensive review. I really loved the early deep house and a lot of the deep house you hear nowadays are remixes of well known songs. It is nice but doesn't really catch the vibe it used to. I tried to make a more authentic appraoch and I am glad I get so much positive reactons. Really happy with it. I used sidechain compression on the bass and even on the chords to make room for the kick. Then after I used a limiter to bring up the bass again and give it its lowend. I really like that you hear the details I have put in. They are the things that make a track more complete in my opinion. Thanks again for your review, made my day!
I totally agree with what is written. A well done piece of music oriented to the specific genre of house. Your sound is good and the overall impression is really intense and "colorful".
My best regards, Anthony.
Hey bro!
You know, I'm not an expert of this genre but what I hear is an absolute pro sounded track ... catchy tunes, huge drums, white noises ... and vocal fxes ...

I think Manuela makes some good points on this one. My suggestion is to take the BPM down 5 to slow it down to a better groove. There is an anxiety about this tune that could be relieved by that. Also some more percussion ideas. like when you drop to the synths only, use a high hat to continue the idea of the rhythm. I would look to some of the techno producers back in 2000 who were played at Tresor. There minimalist style melds with what you are trying to do here. It's very good.
It must be almost christmas getting these great tips and ideas from you and Manuela. I usually set my BPM around 130 and this one is 135 BPM. I like the jumpiness it creates but i definetly agree that overdoing it turns up he level of anxiety. I will go and try to play with the bpm some to see what fits better. Some extra percusion and hats are always a welcome addition if used well. Because i like how the drums turned out I kept some room for them to run almost solo. But again you are right about keeping the groove. I am very happy with your opinion. Love to learn from people like you!
Honestly, I think this is a GREAT! beat! the track has a plethora of intricate sounds and the vox is well placed within the track. What's not to like. TOP WORK!...I hit like yesterday & just had to take another listen/comment. Kudos!
Hello mudhoen
Mate, I love the intro wow it is great.
The whole track for techno I think it needs a bit more volume to keep the listeners moving.
Nevertheless, it is a hit in my view.
Well done.

what a great journey, very nice work on the track! I just listen it over my open headphones which only got decent bass, I think there is too much low end inside which make the mix a bit sluggish.greets over the Netherlands
Thanks a lot for the listen and reply. I tried to boost the bass as good as i could without tresspassing the 0db. Maybe thatswhy it is a bit muddy on the lower side of the frequency.
Very very good! What stands out is you achieved a big sound under -0db thus not driving things into clipping. I can listen to songs like these all day because you took the time in post-production and in your mix to get things balanced and right while still having a huge sound. Not my particular genre but you made this very easy to listen to and to enjoy. Great job!
Thanks a lot MrAxel and nice that you noticed that! There is a lot too learn as suggested in the post below, but its always nice to hear some positive feedback. I spent some hours boosting the sound without getting over the top. Starting at -12Db and listening to a mix on low volume really helped me get a few steps ahead. Thanks again and cheers!
Always nice to hear(read) from you! I think it is definetly a step forward. Had a frew sessions with some good producers which made me realize i have a lot to learn. So had to step my gam eup :-).
Good vocals are hard to come by. That makes me always comeback to LM. Next to the community that is, ofc.
