on Chill em by Diskonnect
Well this is nice and layed back, has a kind of groove armada feel to it which is a good thing because they are f***ing brilliant!
I like your diversity of styles, every tune is completely different from the last one and this is no exception, i'm also getting perhaps a little Moby influence in this track.
It all slots together niceley, it's well mixed and it's as sweet as the jam sandwich i just ate so thanks for that.

Thanks for listening and the comment. I'm a big fan of groove armada especially the black light album, so that was nice. Glad you enjoyed listening again :)

on admiration of the nature by deciBel
This is very mellow indeed, kind of astral feeling in the intro and then into a fabulous piano piece that's kind of melancholic.
I like the effects that you used in the back ground and that ethnic sounding flute thing gives another level of depth.
It may only be a short piece but it's a good one.

on We re all people people by bobbybooth
I find myself listening to a lot of chill out stuff on this site. It seems to be a very popular genre and it's easy to see why.
This to me sounds more like down tempo house music but it's very well put together. Like the key pads and the swirly synths that you've used.
It's helping me to really enjoy the bottle of bud that i just cracked open (in the hope it will relieve my writers block)
What programme are you using to make this with?
There's some great synth work in this track.

on DJ Triple C - Jazz Slidin and Groovin by DJtriplec1
The opening reminds me of a 70's kung fu movie, then it progresses niceley into a sweet electro lick.
The mix quality is a bit muddy but nothing that cant be sorted out with a bit of EQ.
Other than that i thought this track was pleasant to listen to. especially like the vocoder effects, gives it a kind of daft punk feel.

Nice atmospheric piece of guitar work with subtle reverberated drums. This would be good to have in the background when your just chilling out and having a cold one.

This is a good track but you need to bring the levels down a bit as there's quite a bit of heavy distortion going on in the bass department.
The riffs are really good and you have some great idea but i'm sure if you just dropped the master a couple of notches it would sound much better. I do like the sound selection though, it's very new school.
Glad i dropped by for a listen.

on Low Key Love by StaticNomad
I see what you mean about maffin's review, It's more like a novel than a review and this one isn't going to be anywhere near half as good because of my lack of imagination when it comes to comments. I'm actually a lot better at slagging things off than i am providing positive comments which is one of the reasons i get annoyed that you HAVE to be nice around this place in order to get feedback returned.(not that i can slate this tune in any way)
Everything sounds on point to me and i do enjoy a jazz number from time to time so i'll just finish by saying....you guessed it......great track!
(see, i told you my reviews are shit)

Word up, dutiful little link follower. Regarding Maffin's review: told you so!

" I'm actually a lot better at slagging things off "

I think what you need is the hip hop battle jam version of Looperman, where eveyone tries to slag off other people's tracks in the most imaginative ways. Maybe with collaborations, you try to fuck up other people's beats or do death metal growls over their pretty little ballroom waltz string chamber quartet tracks. Sounds like a place for nihilists. Maybe it could be called Haterman.com.

Hey, you do a decent job providing positive comments and you're one of few people here who regularly amuse me and show honesty and character and appear to speak their mind. The world is full of dull, uninteresting people with very little to say for themselves but I doubt you're one of them.

Yeah, the socially enforced niceness of the site does annoy me a little, as does the individual I told you about on that forum thread who will not accept any criticism of his tracks (including constructive stuff, which is what I always give). So, I won't comment any more on his unimpeachable tracks that sound just as he wants them to, which is pretty much what he's said to me. If I ever try to suggest that what I make is beyond criticism, punch me square in the face as that is ridiculously arrogant and absurd. Why even post tracks here with comments enabled if you won't stand for any criticism?

Anyway, I had fun doing this track and would like to make more jazz, not that this is at all a conventional jazz track. More jazzy things I guess is what I want to make.

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts and screw you for leaving that review.

on Juancho Libre - M RT N remix by M8TN
I'm not clued up at all as to what dirty music sounds like but so far it's fun to listen to. Sounds a bit like a cross between dubstep and reggae or something.
It's cleanly mixed and very original so yeah, kudos from me.
Well done.

I don't know about genres at all, its compulsory to choose one but I feel im very ignorant in that area! :) Please advise me on what this (or any others I upload) should be classed as, I'll change it right away. I understand it upsets some people if this isn't done right.. :)

Nice pop track mate. The vocal fits perfectly, the music is all on point and it has breakdowns in all the right places. Could this be a sign that your mellowing out in your old age lol?
I enjoyed this piece of radio friendly music.

on Sacrificial Turd by AJE1000
well i couldn't resist reviewing a track called sacrificial turd and i'm glad i dropped in because it's pretty darn cool. Dubstep is really hard to make (i reckon) and this is a splendid example of how it should be done.
The only drawback is it finished too quickly. That could have gone on for another five minutes and i still would probably want more.
excellent track.

This was pretty much my first dubstep song. Sampled from mixcraft/YouTube. I edited the drop wobble bass and made it into this. I agree it ended too early, but for some reason i cant stand dubstep that repeats too much :/ Some dude decided to be a jerk when i uploaded the sample and he complained that i didnt give credit and that i said it was mine. Funny thing, I never said i owned any of these tracks! xD. Thanks for the review!

Nice drums, sounds like a battlefield backdrop.
It's not that easy making a drum based track but you've pulled this one of splendidly. The vocals compliment it perfectly.
I could easily see this being used in a movie.
Great stuff Anubis, really great stuff.

Blimy thats some heavy bass, I think my house is shaking.
It's pretty creepy but at the same time it's quite mellow.
It's making me think of zombies crawling out of graves in a graveyard.

This is pretty wicked since it was your first tune on Ableton. It's not an easy programme to get the hang of and you've done well to do a track this good on your first attemp.
I like the synth that comes in around the half way point and from there on it just gets better and better.
Quality!

Hi Freeradical,
Thanx but it's not my first track in Ableton.
All the tracks from 'Bert' are made with Ableton.
This one was made with Ableton and the controller Ableton Push.
It was my first track created with Ableton Push :)

on A Perfect Story Ft Miper And KnowKontrol by SeriouslyJoking
This isn't what i was expecting. This is leaning more towards chill out than drum and bass. this is what drum and bass sounds like https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/155362
The lyrics and the singing are nice and it's a pretty good track but i was expecting something more upbeat.
You should alter the genre.
FR
FreeRadical
This sounds pretty good even though i can't understand a word of the lyrics.
Sounds pretty well mixed but as i say a can't comment on the vocal.
I would have liked to have heard a bit more of a tune going on as the whole thing consists of just drums and vocals.
Where's the music???
Still, i like what you've done with the drums and the percussion.
Keep it up,

I did not add music to this track, because she is so powerful in her voice, that I did not need to add more to it. Sometime not adding stuff makes it more powerful.

Nice intro with the spanish guitar. Then also niceley in with the congas.
I see you labled the tune as "weird" but i can tell you that it aint weird at all, it's bloody good.
There's a mixture of all kinds of things coming throught here.
The percussion is excellent and so is the guitar.
and i like the little vocal samples here and there, There is just enough of it to give the track an extra boost.
You done really well with this piece mate.

this is a very soft piece of music. the backgound sounds are a little strange but all the instruments work in perfect harmony with one another.

on Peril - Nefarious - CLIP WIP by SUDDENSHIFTOFFICIAL
Not a bad piece of techno once it gets going. I thought the intro could have done with being a little shorter, I like the bit where you bring the bongos in but then it just fades out.
It's a good start but you could add so much more to it to make it better. For example there are no cymbals, hats or crashes used which are pretty imprtant in a dance piece.
Still, i like what you've done i just can't help feeling that it needs a few more layers to get it going.

and this is just the WIP, I've started layering in some more samples now and I've just compressed the kicks and the bass, working on the transitions and added the subs so it's getting there :P
Thanks for the input! and cheers for listening

on mini mix by smallpaul
I see you've caught the minimix bug. In some ways it's easier than a track because if you get stuck you just fade out and bring in another. I've been working on one that's now about 40 minutes long and boy is it getting tedious.
Anyway, this sounds really great so far, I'm going to take my time with the review as i've got nine minutes of tunage to get through.
Second track has just started now so i'm getting an idea as to how your week off work has been going. It's very deep sounding, I try and do this style of house sometimes but it just always turns into techno.
Wow, it's gone piano house now which is great, like the way you added the vocal to it then picked up the pace with some nice acidic sounds and trumpets and stuff.
Third riff was definitely the best as far as im concerned.
That trumpet thing sounds really authentic. Did you make that or is it a loop?
Anyways nice listening to this.
