Kyle,
Fav'd. This could be a classic dude! You have a gift with your voice and I can hear you have really been practising that guitar. I am sharing this to my Facebook page if it works from Looperman.
Mark.
P.S. You should be very happy with this one brother.
M.
Musicante,
Interesting approach and the transitions blended well. The elements you introduced were brave at times but you had them under control.
Mark.
TV,
Fav'd. Enjoyed immensely. Sounds like raw early 70's when guitar effects really started improving. Psychedelic? Somewhat. Grooving gets a 10/10 though. Respect man.
Mark.
Danke,
This has a "pop" sound to it but I can understand why you labelled it "chill out".
It is a good start and i feel it needs some spoken word on it to further it's evolution.
Mark.
Hey Mark...thanks buddy, very much appreciate the thumbs up mate!..be heading over to your ranch very shortly to sample (no not the HipHop ripoff kind! lol)the audio offerings..cheers mate Dave :)
Axion,
Not my reg genre but I do listen to Spiv Kurls stuff. I cannot say I find anything wrong with this track at all. I really enjoyed this one; it has no gaps, all instruments are in their place, nice builds.
Def cannot wait to hear this completed….let's see if you can keep the interest level going…good luck!
Mark.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Hope to have this done before January knowing my tendency to move on to a new track before ever finishing the previous one haha. I hope the interest level stays at a max the whole time, as that is my overall goal. Thanks for the listen!
Patrick,
Your mastering of this song shows why you won Bear's contest….superb!!! The pleasure was all mine in joining y'all on this gem.
The lyrics sort of just fell into place … I wanted the listener to think I was singing about a lost lover the first couple of verses and then the surprise hits.
Bear, well Bear is Bear and he never puts out crap…hats off.
Mark.
Hey man, sorry about taking a while to respond, been a crazy few weeks around here. I'm sure you understand. Listening to this again right now, and it really is a winner! You're really talented both in performing and recording... not to mention song writing! I respect the fact that you have your own style, and I think it is very complimentary to Bear's work. It was an enjoyable experience to be a part of this songs progression! Hope you have been well! I've got a project in the works that I think you'll like, it will be posted on the blog in the next week or so hopefully. Thanks for the kind comment!
GC,
Starts off ambient then moves into the drum and bass … very different but enjoyed. The drum and bass really comes in abruptly though; may I suggest fading it in?
Mark.
Thanks for the feedback MW. I probably will take that into consideration and tweak in changes that are similar to anything in this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WwiOoTQiPo Monster quality mix from Goldie. Thanks again, peace
thank you for your comment Mark!
I think the minimal-music always sounds a bit unfinished. This is an experimental track of mine - it seems like it's repetitive indeed but actually there's a great amount of slightly changing things going on there. But still that's only my personal preference - I like american minimal-music like Phillip Glass or Steve Reich. Some people may find it boring and that's ok.
Thanks again for your time and review. Alex
Orlando,
At first I thought Cinematic but as the song progressed, I realized you were correct with the genre.
What can I say? Magical ear nectar and an easy ride.
Well done.
Mark.
Categorisation of music is one thing I'm least concerned with
although I'm well aware of different musical styles. But foremost I'm here now to say big thank you for listening and positive feedback..:)
yea. Burton comes up with the story lines and Pat managed to figure out my crazy time signatures and enhance as always. still tweaking this one. there is a zombie rock ending now. thanks for stopping by Mark. you have really heard the evolution like nobody else buddy.
Patrick,
I am very impressed with this. Fav'd. I would like to add some vocals and lead riffs to this if you are into that.?
Email me the mp3 if so with bpm. rat ridge@yahoo.com
This is the best I have heard from you…good luck.
Mark.
Hey friend, sorry for replying so late to this. Hope that you ended up getting the mp3 I sent. I forgot to mention the tempo, which is 80 BPM. It's nice to have been amongst the winners of the competition! I'd like to hear what you do with this!
Gentlemen,
May I congratulate you all on a spectacular performance. I'm standing holding my lighter in the air boys. Oh in case you didn't guess, fav'd.
Dave the comment on this started my voyage and it was a pleasant one. Love the sound of your bass, the guitars, the synths, the sax - hot!
I assume as the producer Dave, you mastered? I feel as though I am in the presence of some extremely gifted artists. Peace.
Mark.
Hey Mark, thanks for trolling this old cod piece mate!lol...yes I mastered the track, though I'd probably do it a little differently these days,I remember having to roll off just about all the treble tone on my bass to get the right sound and thinking, jeez I wish I had a precision!(which i now do) haha....hopefully I can get all the collaborators together again sometime and we'll do another....be dropping by your page mate to check out your material real soon, again thank you for your kind review very much appreciated! cheers Dave :)
Great ride man. Put on my headphones, pressed play and let the music slip me away. I could hear all kinds of David Gilmour style guitar throughout with some vocals. Good track. Fav'd.
Mark.
email me if interested in me adding some riffs and/or vox.
Thanks Mark! Sorry for the delay in responding. Don't get online that much now. Once I get internet again I'll definitely hit you up on some collabs stuff. I love your playing and thing I have some stuff you could make shine. Including this one. Hoping sooner then later but we'll see.
