thanks for your input man, glad you like it... ive just uploaded a fix now, where ive added a level to the bass, fixed the first drum and toned down the vocals, let me now if its any better :)

Well let me put it this way...Get a microphone, find a songwriter and record an album. Although this song is simple it's very trendy if we can use that word and it would do great with a bit of production work.
I'm gonna keep my ears on you (well you get the point).
I get what you are saying and I definately need a producer and some assistance on the songwriting won't hurt. I'm glad you like the vocals and I'm assuming you like the melody...these are raw tracks inspired by loops, samples and tracks I have played with on looperman and I truly believe it is the beginning of something amazing...so I agree that you should keep your ears on me lolI
Now this is how it should be done. Nice work! The mix sounds pretty darn good as well! You might not have to wait to reach 43 years to take the industry by surprise like Guetta! Lol!
Loving the changes in there and the arrangement is really cool! Would be killer with a rapper in there as well to change the sound a bit. This is going in the favs!
If I get half the success David Guetta's had, I'll die a very happy man lol..
A rapper *would* be a great idea. If/When I turn it into an original song I'll be sure to put the word out.. Just need to find the right singer with the right lyrics first.
As for the mix, I'm glad it has your seal of approval! If you get bored/have nothing better to do - you can have the stems if you like? Just lemme know :)
Now from a musical point of view this sets a new standard of quality. The phrasing is interesting and the instrumentation helps the song evolve really well. This really proves how sometimes 4-5 instruments can go a long way in creating a moving piece.
Now from the point of view of someone who has the job of finding flaws in audio recordings and fix them I'd like to add a couple of advises...
The reverb on the vocals....use the pre-delay setting and make that reverb longer(at the moment it sounds mono to me so a stereo one will work better) as it will widen the vocals and by using a longer pre-delay (above 30ms) you will have a nice lush sound that will create a smooth glue around the vocals (think India Arie - Ready for love....for a lack of a better explanation)
Overall I'd guess that I'm gonna say that reverb is needed a bit more on instrumentation as well as everything is a bit dry at the moment and reverb gels like nothing else.
So that was the technical review...
You obviously have a great set of songwriting skills and the quality standard of your work is quite high which always get's me wondering why didn't you follow a music career, you could've had a great career.
It's amazing - you have such a great pair of ears!!! I have just had a look at the settings for the vocal on this track and the pre delay is 10ms, is mono and it isn't up too much either. I will have a play around with your suggestions tomorrow (my ears are asleep at the moment!) so thanks very much indeed for the advice. Yes, a bit more reverb on the instrumentation too maybe. It's down to me being "minimal" and not wanting to smother it all and wash it away.
My "career" in music has been (and still is) very enjoyable and the current work I produce is, I think, the best to date. I was professional in the late seventies but a band of serious songwriters didn't really stand much of a chance once the punk thing erupted! We tried!!
Thanks again for the technical advice and for the very rewarding comments on the track. Much appreciated.
Whoah! The harmonies in this are amazing. The way the musical elements interplay with the vocals melodic line is fantastic. This is a true representation of folk music and a really good lesson on how to use modern elements and yet create something that takes you so far back in time.
Excellent choice of instrumentation and a great delivery. I must agree with Dave it can easily be played as part of a large concert.
Wow thanks Mahloo. I can tell you must be a real lover of any kind of music. Just from review, I can tell by you have keen ears. The song is over 150 years old. I guess a writer can definately make a song timeless. I wish I could do the same heheh. Cheers and thanks again ! - Bill (Bilbozo)
Ahh yeah! It's about time you get some vocals on your tracks. The vocals sound a bit thin! Maybe because they are so centered or maybe just lack a bit of body.
The delivery is great an the track supports the rap really well.
vocals being thick, i agree. i thought it was too much at the high end frequency boost. but i cut too much on the low end either. the first rapper has not bass at all in his voice.
hopping to get better after some subsequent releases.
thnx for the comment man. i appreciate it
Ahhh now this is pretty cool! The intro is really cool but when that synth comes in it sounds out of tune. It might be the synths own sound but it doesn't really song good on the breaks.
I like the way you've worked the track otherwise and this is a very professional sounding track otherwise.
Aah! Now that nylon is something! Very smooth! I loved the bass sound and what's going on with the ride's and cymbals is fantastic, now that's some attention to detail I'd like to hear more often.
The overall sound was a bit dark for my taste but it works extremely well by setting the listener in a pub where there is a live performance going on.
I don't know if you have latin roots of you've just had a glass of red wine but that acoustic is smooth and intimate as it should be.
Hey Malu thanks man!..actually I do have 1% Latin(Spanish) blood from my Grandmother's side I've been told.hehe.....You know it's interesting, when I start a project I'm visualising it in a particular setting and obviously attempt to make it sound so......However I've pretty much come to the conclusion that musicians don't make the best sound engineers!lol..that is unless they've been successful enough to employ professionals and learnt the ropes from them through association over the years....thanks mate,I always appreciate your insightful comments!..cheers Dave :)
Ohh that start was awesome. Had a nice vibe! I would've loved it to continue that way but the change was a nice addition after all and it turned out pretty cool.
Some cool guitar thrills in there would have worked wonders, some interplay with your vocals, always works well with blues.
i hear ya, had the main loop in a file for a long time...doing some cleaning and i found it liked the way it sounded...think thats why i only did 2 16s on it though. and i cant ever find anyone to spit on my stuff. or if they do, i dont hear it.
Try rolling of some of the low end on those vocals (go as high as you need) and don't boost so much highs as it sounds bad.
With a bit of work on the timing and the pitch of the vocals this could be pretty good. It has a nice feel and vibe (Ryan Leslie/Drake comes to mind). The instrumental is fabulous I really like it.
Thanks man..appreciate the feedback..Definetly understand what your talkin about..I figured if I got positive feedback on it..id remove the tags and record in a real studio..
Once again the track is really great and has a nice lounge vibe to it.
The same thing about the vocals. Not really on time and in tune. Some editing would be beneficial for the tune as the track has a fabulous quality and with proper vocals it would be great.
Thanks again for your comments. DJ Malook took my original acapella and tried for a different feel. We agree that it is more off beat as I recorded in different bpm. I'll see if DJ Malook wants to rework this with me. :)
I'm not sure the vocals are in tune with the song, at places it just sounds a bit of. They also sound way to filtered, to me at least.
I would have loved them a bit more upfront and more defined to be honest.
The backing track has some potential if some transitions would be present. It sounds a bit repetitive at the moment which is a surprise as there are enough elements in there to build something great.
Thanks for commenting mate. Great to hear from you. It was my first experiment with doing an acapella so I'm still learning. I wanted to add some effects to my voice for my first few experimental tracks so I could compare them to when I sing a bit more exposed on a dance track. The next upload I do, I'll give it a go and take effects off.
The intro is fabulous! The song could easily go as a soundtrack in a movie, maybe something like CSI since you added the percussive elements as well.
I like the strange percussion, well not strange but wet (effected) and the vocals really make it memorable. Very well put together and arranged. The changes is mood are awesome.
Thanyou very much…. it was a bit of a shot in the dark, as my voice was really not recovered from a bout of flu. I love the idea of it being a soundtrack..I appreciate your positivity and thank you for your time.
Well I'll be.......! Clutz! How's the movie going on? Nice dark elements going on in here, will wait for this one to get some lyrics and then listen to it in it's full potential.
mahloo man how you doing man! good i hope. well ya def some dark element. been going off the deep end last few years and we broke up after 14 years so been real down and this was acually made with the beat, when im gone" by eminem. its what i used to write the lyrics too and what i was going for as far as a kind of feel. i just need to record it. beet is 75 beets per min same as ems beet. so ill get back as soon as i can get a decent mic at the moment i need a ubs because my reg mic inputs are shot so just waiting on crazy chris. hopefully later in the week.ill check out some of your tracks as soon as i get a min bro. cant wait to hear what you been working on. im not really up and running yet my main pac kinda bit the dust so this is a recovery attempt at best on a laptop fron a desk top, honestly im hating it. lol. be easy man. will get back with you. :)
Now this is hardcore mate! Techno on steroids! Nice effects on the vocals and that lofi effect got me checking my speakers if they've had be blown by the track.
You could add some variation to make it a bit more complex or mainly just add a couple of transitions.
I couldn't agree more. i only made this because i was hanging around waiting for some stems for another track. Now this one seems to be doing alright and i've lost the plot with the other one for the minute. Funny how things work out sometimes huh.
Thanks for stopping by.
Did you watch the Chinese goose stepping video? I'm sure i can grab an idea or two from that. ha ha

Regardless of what instrument plays a latin variation it's never going to sound as soulful and warm as a guitar.
Very impressive and full of emotional charge. I can hear a lot of influences in your playing style and how you manage to combine them every time is amazing.
The first part is incredible, not that the rest is not as good as that particular part but I just feel every note in that part.
I seem to be stumbling upon smooth tunes today and this one ain't no exception.
Fabulous work on the guitar and the percussive elements work so well with the tune. The strings really gave it a different vibe and once that percussion came it it was just the twist the track needed.
Thank you.I'm humbled and I hope you can tell how much I love playing guitar to these guys song.

Love that bass line! The drums are amazing and the percussive elements give it a nice ethnic vibe. You've got a certain sound, your sound that's for sure.

This could easily replace the definition of dub so you could contact Wikipedia to wipe the page and post a link to this song.
Nice, very nice sound on those drums and the bass is fabulous. Very trippy!
This is a great job from all of you guys involved. Now go get Damian on it.
on Dont Be To Fast by chrisseastream
I must say however that the drums sound doesn't work for the track and you could've had a better result with other drum sounds.
It reminds me a bit or Swedish House Mafia, but it definitely has it's own sound.
With a bit of production work this could also become a bit more professional.
Cheers!
on Time Has Come Feat RomyHarmony fix by chrisseastream
Otherwise the track evolves pretty well and has a really addictive vibe going on.
It could also work better if you'd make the track a bit wider to embrace those vocals and make it more impressive.
Could have also cut the vocals here and there as the first bit is just to much vocals.
Anyways a pretty cool effort.

On the verses you could go with a slightly less distorted guitar and maybe play some chords to emphasize the emotion, I don't know it's just an idea.
The snare sounds nice and smacky and there is a pretty good balance in the track.
