I must say you two pair VERY well. The vocals effects are perfectly suited for the track, and of course Dante's instrumentality is always superior. Well done to the both of you. I'm definitely "saving" this.
Thanks, Mykael! Choosing the effects was the longest part of the process. I tried many different attributes, all giving a different result, but I was happy with this selection.
Mr. James Brown would definitely APPROVE!!! I hate to say it, but it's true...many folks on this platform (and others) totally miss the mark when it comes to FUNK music. They don't understand the language. From the very beginning your intro sets the stage...the horns are so in the pocket. Then the funky guitar and baseline come together and it is magic. As if all that wasn't enough, you throw in jazz influenced keys. The percussion is sitting right where it should be... I hate that horns are not as predominant in music as they were in the 70's. It is so refreshing it hear a horn section arrangement done as flawlessly as you have here. The synth is Currrrazzzy. There is nothing NOT to like with this polished version. Well done, you!!!!
Mykael, first off it’s been a minute and it’s good you stopped through. Your critique hit pretty much everything I was attempting to say. James Brown’s music has permanently effected me. PERMANENTLY! From his arranging chops to mastering that “On The 1” groove and everything in between. I’m with you on horn arrangements. There’s nothing like that sound . I’m happy this hit right. Thanks for sharing everything you enjoyed here. Be safe and stay cool.
However this got bumped up, I am so thrilled it did! That sax is sexy good, and I love the way it weaves in out through the piece. That sax is soooooo in the pocket, it's goosebumpy, and then that Rhodes--total bliss. How you managed it without coming off dated is magical. The fade out is bonus! I would pay tons of cash to hear (and watch) this being played live. Well done, you!
Hey Mykael, it’s great you’ve stopped thru. This one was a breakthrough composition for me. The one where I took a simple melody, a bass with a touch of drive, that sweet sax, the in the cut Rhodes, and the tempo balancing drums. And all in 3 1/2 minutes. Plus my wife who is my harshest critic loves it! Thanks for checking this out. And have a awesome and safe weekend.
I throughly enjoyed this track. I wish you'd edit your description and take out that self-deprecating remark; your vocal is very nice. It reminds me of stage singing which is an art form, and requires a lot of discipline. Might be your calling?! LOL.
Hey Mykael, thanks so much! You're really on to something with your stage singing observation, as my undergraduate degree was in opera. And I still sing in operas from time to time. As cool as it is, it's not really a very lucrative calling lol.
Also, I appreciate your concern but self-deprecation is just kinda my thing lol
EARTH TO MICKY!!! What a magical interstellar musical trip you have created. I love the throwback sound, the vocals are perfectly placed, and the message is on point. This is one of those times I want to break out my Bose S1 Pro because I know you have some hidden gems in this piece. Well done, and thanks for sharing it.
Flippy! That was definitely worth the 6 minutes spent! If Herbie Hancock, Partice Rushen, and Tom Browne got together and produced a lovechild, this is what it would sound like! What an awesome dance track. Well, done, you!
My vote? YES!!!! YESSS!!! YESSSS! You got this in the bag, my brother in music. The beat is very catchy. This sounds more like Lo-fi, than House, but some of these sub genres tend to meld together. I'm digging it, and I'd stream it in a nano!
Well done!
I am THRILLED to be the first one to comment on your track! I Love Love Love acoustic music for starters. This track of yours soars! It was simply a joy to listen to. I think I have a vocal idea for the part you mentioned. I'm gonna give a go. Well done, you!
Gracias amigo Mykael, me alegra mucho que te haya gustado la pista. He reducido la parte final para no alargar demasiado el tema, por lo que me he visto obligado a suprimir parte de las voces. Que tengas un buena noche querido amigo. Paz y salud.
Wassup, Wayne! What a Fun Tune! I have no idea what the chorus is singing, but it must be pretty happy!! This song's visual is a group of folk drinking and dancing bare foot outside in some dirt road town, just as dusk sweeps over. AWESOME!
I don't know what's happening lately on Looperman, but every time I log in I am treated to some real deal rock! This track of yours does not disappoint. I love the raw quality and the production is top notch. Well done, guys...
Very nice instrumentation. The backing vocals are in the pocket. It's a very catchy tune, one that you might find yourself humming throughout the day. Good job!
Wow....everything is simply sweet about this acoustic love song....the vocals, lyrics, the whistling (which sent it over the top brilliant). I believed I smiled during the entire time! Well done, guy!
Masterful guitar playing pairs well with the tribal percussion. I love how you use the vocals sparingly. What a wonderful alternative rock treat. Well done, you!
Gracias Mykael, esta es mi primera vez produciendo rock, ya sabes que soy más electrónico, pero quería darle una sorpresa a un amigo mio de infancia que le gusta este tipo de música. Espero no haberlo defraudado. Gracias amigo mío por tu apoyo siempre agradable. que tengas un buen día.
SPECTACULAR!!! I am thoroughly in love with this track. You've done a brilliant job with the mix. I can imagine this being heard at a stadium EDM fest, absolutely! It's going onto my fav list.
You took Funk, went through it with the the force of a tornado, tore it down to its bones, and resurrected it to a glorious state! This is what the genre is out about. If my ears aren't failing me, I thought I heard hints of Psychedelic in the blend. Spectacular!
I'd definitely say this is Lo-fi. It's a genre I've been listening to religiously lately. I know that this genre borne out of a necessity for students to have something calming to listening to as they studied. I use it when I'm writing (not music, of course..lol), and when I'm doing house chores, or when I just want to recline on the sofa and chill. For someone new at the game, you have done a fantastic job. It's catchy, the vocals are just enough. Thanks for allowing downloads. It's going into my rotation.
I always enjoy the unexpected in music. The acoustic guitar intro is definitely unexpected in House music. I can't think off the top of my head ever hearing it done. The tune soars with promise and hope, and good old-fashioned feel goodness. I could listen to this one all day and never tire of it. Well done, you!
One word...EXCELLENT! I am not familiar with that band, but it's probably safe to say you knocked it out of the park. The production is radio-worthy; very nice vocals, and that guitar!!!
Thx Mykael for your kind words
Listen to my other stuff when you got time and if you want to collaborate i'm always looking for some cool vocalist
cheers
First, I am a huge fan of Patricia's! Second, you are among a handful who has a clue about how to envelop her vocals with instrumentation...very impressive work!
