Oh, wait!! Patricia!!!??????? Where in heaven have you been? I haven't been around much, but you've been MIA much longer! Glad to see you back. I was thinking your vocals sound familiar....obviously there was a reason! "Full Capacity"...I like the sentiment!
Absolutely Gorgeous. Your voice is pure ear candy; very soulful and captivating. I love the lyrics, of course, but you make them shine. Your backing vocals--FIYA!!! Hat's off to the both of you! Well done!
Slick, cool, groovy, and funky! I am very eager to see where this goes. My only wish is that there was more wha guitar; otherwise, well done so far, Darren!!!!
There is a club in Berlin called M-BIA club. I can imagine this being played on one of the two dance floors on a hot Berlin night. Love the beat. It's a banger for sure! Well done, you!
In my view, the singer-songwriter era spanning from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s produced some of the most remarkable music. During this period, singer-songwriters crafted songs that resonated with their unique vocal styles. Their compositions were infused with a distinct passion that illuminated the lyrics. Additionally, it was an era characterized by an artist-centric music industry. This track evokes those sentiments for me. I found this track to be thoroughly enjoyable. Well done.
That's a huge compliment. I didn't grow up with those songwriters (I listened to classical music as a kid) but obviously people like Bowie, Jackson Browne, Marvin Gaye, Elvis Costello (and later Terence Trent D'Arby and Prince) influenced me massively.
If you can hear my passion for music and lyrics in my songs... then I did something right.
Thank you so much for listening and always being supportive Mykael!
It's Happiness that this popped back into the Featured Tracks Category. My sentiments are the same as the first time I heard this; only THIS time I almost broke my back attempting to dance in front of my mirror like Mr. James Brown. Kids, don't try this at home! LOL
Mykael ok youre gonna need some Icy Hot! LOL! You know better! Thank so much for swinging back through and sharing your impressions. Its good this listen was just as good as the first one. Peace.
TREMENDOUS!!! If this doesn't deserve to be featured on a film's closing titles, then nothing does. I have listened to my share of songs here on Looperman under the Cinematic category, but this track has to be top tier! I literally had goosebumps listening to it. Well done, you!!!
Brilliant work!! I love the juxtaposition of the lyric and the vocal treatment, your choice of instrumentation, and the stylistic prowess of the vocalist. I'd pay BIG bucks to see this performed live. Well done!
DANKE!!! What a treat!!! Country music is a GREAT Love of mine! This track is so fun, so light-hearted, and COUNTRY with a little bit of rock---the perfect combination. Well, Done you! If you are amenable to it, I'd love to see what I can do with it. Let me know!!
Spectacular! Love the Rhythm, the Beat, the vocals. The simplistic lyrics are so in the pocket for this composition. It's quite catchy. Well done, you!!!
It is obvious, you poured your soul into this composition. You play that guitar with such emotion and purity. It truly soothes the soul and demands complete and focused attention. Absolutely Beautiful. Congrats!
Hello Mykael, thank you for listening to this track, it's one of my favorite improvs. It's the joy of creating out of the blue and trusting your fingers to lay out what you're feeling.....might seem a little weird but it's how I look at.....the music is everything. I again appreciate your comments and time.
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful! If you remix this, I hope you will consider bringing the vocals more upfront. You have a very ear-pleasing quality to the vocals.
Well, it might have been made as a joke, but the composition is simply beautiful! I'd love to write new lyrics and lay new vocals to it, if that would be something that interests you.
Hey, My Friend in Music!! Whatever your "vibe" is, I'm vibing with it. Speaking of vibes, I'm really digging the ol' skool vibe. I also like the quirkiness and humor of the lyrics. For me, there is nothing NOT to love about this. track. Well done, you!
I hate to say this, but it's soooooo true! Europeans do it better! The composition is very clever. I really dig how the baseline comes in around 8 seconds into the mix; and it is that baseline that is the life source of the track. The other elements, though necessary, are just background. LOL. Well done!
Danke! STOP IT! This is crazy good!!! One would never know that the vocals and your composition were once independent of each other. That is your mastery. Another Brilliant piece of work. Well done!
Uh Oh! Now, you've done it!!! You've elevated the Smooth Jazz Art Form!!! This mellow-groovy track is infectious, very smooth, and simply a joy to listen to. The production is stellar, of course. Well done, you!!!!!
Well Mykael, after that comment, I will have to go out and purchase a LARGER HAT.LOL. My head is on swole. Thank you for a much-appreciated comment. I've been getting much love for this track, Much like your MOWTOWN VOICE. I will have to stop by and get another dose of the velvet voice. PEACE. T576 OUT.
Every once in a while something totally unexpected and wonderful happens on this platform. This is one of those such times. You have ELEVATED the art form. The beat is infectious, and the vocals are out of sight. House with a latin flair---doesn't get much better than this. I feel as if I'm doing something terribly wrong in downloading it. Music like this shouldn't be free! Well done, well done, and WELL DONE!!!
You know, one of my most favorite 70's funk bands is RUFUS (the group that brought us Chaka Khan). They produced some amazing instrumentals on some of their albums, and this track definitely takes me back. You have a very keen sense of story telling through music, in my opinion. Your outtro here is brilliant. But, there is a "but" coming...LOL. You sort of lost me from 3:14 to around 3:47. That section seems (to my ear) out of place and a bit disconnected. I don't think it moves the "story" forward. Luckily, though, you brought me right back to the groove, and as I mentioned earlier, the outdo does not disappoint. Overall, how can I not say job well done? The track is a "Killer" in every good sense of the word!
Mykael. Thank you for stopping by. Rufus gave me goosebumps! Had the chance to see them live back in the day. I’m glad you liked what you heard. The section you mentioned is under construction and my next move will make it make sense. I appreciate your time for this listen and compliments. TTYL. Peace.
BaoBou!! Lately, you have been in the zone!!! What have you been adding to your coffee? LOL. Another great track! I love the piano intro. For a second I thought you were bringing us to church! Your vocals are in the pocket, and it seems you are using less layering (to my ears anyways), and that is also a good thing. I think you have struck a nice balance. I hear the lyrics clearly, as well as your vocal work. The fade out is a very smart touch. Call me old-fashioned, but there is nothing sweeter than a fade out. I'd sing this at an outdoor venue without hesitation...it's just that good! Well done!
First of all, if you would actually want to sing this, that would be a huge honour and I'd be delighted. I'd love to see/hear that too :)
Yeah I can hear how this would sound with a gospel choir and man, that would totally be awesome. Maybe I can in fact add some more layering to the chorus. I was already thinking to add some brass, but my poor laptop was already struggling with just the tracks this has, so I'll need to use some trickery for that. First I need to improve the vocals a bit more.
And yes I've listened well to you and others who gave advice about lyrics/phrasing (hi Ruben). It takes time for information to sink into my thick skull, but in the end I do listen :)
