Man...this is beautifully done Tony....definite fav...I had occasion to do a tune for exactly the same reason a few years ago...my sincere sympathies to you...it just seems like emotions and talent result in the best music...Ed
Thanks for the good words! Joe put in a sidewalk in front of my house that summer so I get to walk on that every single day. It's a good thing. We grew up on Trower, UFO, Lizzy, Allmans, etc. Man. we would listen and talk music all night!
There is a beautiful haunting quality to your voice minette..It is the star of whatever you may accompany it with...I downloaded your Nova track as it just grabbed my attention immediately. Don`t know when/if I will have a chance to try adding to it (but have a few ideas)..Would sure like to have the vocal mix separately as it is and should always be the star..Have moved it (yourMP3) over to my studio PC to see what I can come up with....all the best...ED
superbly done guys...something this good aught to be getting a lot of airplay on a much bigger stage...great thoughtful lyrics perfectly delivered and love the tone and talent on that acoustic guitar...Excellent...Fav for sure....keep on.....ED
Thanks Ed!
I did the guitar a year ago and SpellJammer has been working on lyrics/vocals for a while.
This is one of those songs that moved both of us for the same reasons...the journey and the destination..."home".
A real easy listen here...The one key groove does have its limits but you have added enough compositional variation to hold the ear Hutch..I have used most of the major recording software over the years & from my experience if you want something that makes stretching, key-changing etc a piece of cake...check out Sony Acid..Its as capable as any DAW on the market and you will find you can do everything easier, less mouse clicks, etc & most of it while the tracks are rolling...I have been using Acid Pro for about 7 years...used everything under the sun for many years before that..including tape & hard disc etc...Keep on mate...Ed
I might go back and do something with Friday Night at some stage at the time I was discovering stuff and it was just a sketch really. Will check out Sony Acid just about grasping Reaper now but I'm all ears for trying new things. Thumbs up Ed appreciate the review dude
H
well done Hutch82...I hear why you were tempted to do the slide thing in this one, but the guitars come off nicely....reminds me just a wee bit of some of the stuff John Kay was doing in his earlier solo days (after Steppenwolf)..so thats a good thing....Keep on...Ed
How spooky is that Ed I played Bto BeWild for years in a covers band I suppose some of that DNA was still in there lol. Will check out John Kay's solo work cos I don't know it at all. Cheers mate
just had to log in to leave you a few words after listening to this one Kdlucas...you`re right..beautiful guitar sound and wrapped perfectly arount those extra talented vocals. A great listen over my way and kudos to you on the composition..the variation you have developed sets aside any limits the little chord prog may have....Everything needed is here and it all sounds great....a well done to all....Ed
Thanks for stopping by and giving this one a review. Yes, when I first heard BadHuman's chord progression I knew he was onto something special, and with just a little additions here and there it could become a full blown song. Lacey's vocals work well with this genre so I'm glad we could put something like this together collaborating with a total of 4 members on Looperman.
I`m o.k. with the effects Mauste..it still leaves the guitar up front & I like the rhythm tone going on....mic does sound a bit middly but enjoyed the song....well done...Ed
some very tasty playing easy listening music Hutch...love the guitar tone & the panning effect..This is just what a guy needs to lay back & put his feet up to after a hard day...There is a group over in Holland who have developed a tape echo modelled on the one Hank Marvin used with The Shadows...Its a free download with abunch of presets (I`m just trying to find my way around it)...Just Google ETap2 if you want to check it out....Enjoyed this one....Ed
A nice simple little mix that makes good listening over my way Jdashit..very different production here as the vocal and accompaniment sound like they are in two different rooms...doesn`t detract from the fact that its a cool song...Ed
wow.....you can put this one on a loop and play it on my radio for the rest of the night StaticNomad...Kudos to you on the production too..Really like the genre mix with mainly a blues vibe but some very cool little deviation....really well done....fav here...Ed
Thanks. I love this one, as does pretty much everyone who hears it, in my experience. There's a real depth to it and I will be happy to listen to it when I'm 100 as there's that much depth and emotion and enough going on in the ambient bed that makes it all so compelling.
I know of no other track quite like it and I have listened to quite a bit of alternative blues and some of the artists who combine blues with interesting technology eg Little Axe, Tangle Eye, Jeff Beck and others.
Listened to this one with headphones Richie, so the great work you did on the mix really shines & that low bass kicks in there perfectly. Beautiful job on the accompaniment overall....I thin k it takes particular talent to accompany the song this well (many tend to play over the vocal rather than around it)and this is about as good as it gets & lets the vocal be the star....very tasty playing Richie...Much enjoyed & a fav here....Ed
Really knocked out with your review - thank you for taking the time to listen and comment. I do try to keep everything as simple as I can and hope the vocal shines through. Nice comments Ed - thanks again.
I was just browsing some of the newer posts & had to log in after listening to this one LenaL...You ought to be very proud of it..super job on the vocals & harmonies but the whole thing just comes together absolutely perfectly....You can play this one on my radio all day...its a whole lot better that what I hear there..very pro sound and sure is nice to hear something this uplifting.....just a great listen.Fav for sure...all the best..Ed
A very different take on blues and on the original song aleksrutko...kudos to you for taking a bit of creative license...really like this one....very well done & much enjoyed....Ed
Hey Hutch...your mate sounds like he is in a very contented slumber..Love that LOW J Bass lick (I haven`t tried much in the way of fx on my old J Bass)..Some thoughtful compositional thinking going on in this one & very cool fx on the guitar...Held me all the way to the last note....Really well done....Ed
Very interesting mix D...The sound fx definitely give it that swamp vibe...The melody & instrumentation actually have quite a Celtic vibe too and considering the origin of the Cajun people that would be fair game...I have heard quite a bit of French cultural/folk music here in Canada and it also has that same feel as much of the Cajun (the French who moved South)...Anyway,...Its sounding good...lots of potential and I really like the modern touch that the beat gives to it....Well done...Ed
Thanks for your kind words. I do know the history of the Cajun people, and the fact that they are former countrymen of yours. I'm glad to hear that you like my music.
Yeah...when you hit that little progression with the key changes around 1:43 it just lifts it way up Brent88....Good listening R&B here for sure....the girl sure can sing...great job by both of you...enjoyed the listen big time....keep on....Ed
Thank you for the kind review Ed :) MIM4E is an amazing singer, i feel lucky have had her vocals available to work with. I'm glad you enjoyed the listen :)
Wow.....I`m not usually lost for words but this is such a great track I`m struggling for the right ones...Its just superbly done in every way and beautifully produced...Kudos on those harmony parts...love the acoustic...super piano...and being just a great uplifting song to start with sure doesn`t hurt....Absloutely a fav.....More please....Ed
Hey Ed, I hope all is going well for you. Thanks for the kind words. It is not every day I get a chance to work with a singer this talented. She could sing the phone book and make it sound good, so all I had to do was get out of the way. The final product is a direct result of her generosity with her time and advice. Thanks so much for taking the time to listen and comment.
every time I listen to one of your songs I seem to have a new fav. Vincen...Great job on the guitars, and once again you have those super chord progressions I like so much.Vocals are perfectly delivered even though I do not understand them all....I am going to have to visit your page more often.....Well done again....Ed
The translation of the lyrics of my songs is always in the lyrics section. I always do the translation. I'm glad you like my songs and I am honored that. You can visit my songs whenever you want ... you are at home. Thank you very much for your words.
A lot of talent going on in this one Lofthouse & real nice production values...Well done to all involved...good listening over this side of the pond...Ed
Thank you!

In our heads is where it all starts EjGeneration...Like the drum kit work & kind of interesting chord progression backing it up...Would maybe benefit from a few lead melody lines or some vox....keep on...Ed
Superbly done Twanna1...Its a beautiful piece of music for what must be a beautiful lady...It is a great priviledge when we meet those special ones on the journey..Note that you had some good company for some of the sounds too...Much enjoyed...Thanks for posting this one...Fav...Ed
Good easy-listening track Proxy....Has a bit of soundtrack vibe..perhaps its the mind pictures that this type of music tends to convey to the listener...enjoyed this one...well done...Ed
Ha....bangin good...If I had enough hair I`d be shaking it...could have listened a lot longer Storm5hadow...I`d rather play this than what I hear on my radio...I might be inclined to bring the lead vocal up just a wee touch (or just tack on a little soft-knee compression to raise it a touch)...Sounds just fine as it is....I have worked the production side for quite a few years & the idea that the vocal is always the star somehow got drilled into my brain....But I just do instrumentals myself so I certainly wouldn`t be the best judge.....Really well done...I think your vocalist would be pproud...Ed
Thank you very much for the appreciation... I totally agree with you about the vocals being the star ... and yes, this track needs a lot of tweaking. I was just too excited about using the vocals that I just slapped in the various instruments with it and uploaded it here. I have a very short attention span, therefore my tracks are extremely short, but I will try to make them longer in the future. fingers crossed :D
No refining on tone needed here at all Storm5hadow....sounds great to me...Having played rhythm guitar for more years that I will tell, I tend to build from chord progressions myself...and you have a nice little prog going on here that the melody lines just flow real nicely around....You are doing some fine music to my ears fellow Canuck....Keep on.......Ed
