listened to this one with headphones DV...very nice technique on the mix...like the way you moved things around...(notable the bass part in that last section)....very cool...enjoyed this one...Ed
Yeah, since I did the Dreams 2 Dream cover I've been wanting to fool with doing different approaches to the way I arrange the loops in the mix (diff pairings or fades/drops). That bass part at the end was done for that. It was also good to have 'em stand alone for a moment since the drum & bass patterns were kinda similar to one another (the bass was almost like an echo in some parts). Anyways, I'm glad ya dug it mate. Later on!
wow....great job on this one Richie...and as you say the vocals have the power (excellent lyrics & delivery)..like the sound you are getting from your acoustic too...that is something I just have`nt been able to get right in spite of having a couple of decent mics & lots of direct-in options...I`m using a 1990 Tak (341c) that has been played a lot ...sounds decent di`d through a sound system or acoustic amp, but is just real uneven when I`m looking for a natural mic`d sound...anyway...I`m going on a bit....Everything in this one fits like a glove around the vocals ..just as it should when done by a pro....super piece of work....Ed
Thanks very much for the comments and taking the time to listen. Appreciated. My acoustic on this is my Ovation Celebrity direct in to the desk and with just a little compression. It has active EQ and I always make sure the little 9v battery is new before recording - it makes a difference.
Derek Vickers has an amazing voice and great lyrics. It was a lot of fun putting this track together. Glad you enjoyed it.
you`re a wild man lostjoe3....this reminds me of the stuff my brother & I used to do in our parents basment while there was all this "Turn it down"hollerin from upstairs.....got that live..lets just play vibe big time....way to go....Ed
hahaha, my music is done live whenever i can find someone to work with me, and most of the time we do just go with it, then refine it , then record it to the best of are ability's... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesent..i just want to be original that comes from the heart.
thanks for the listen and review as always tumbleweed..
black & white in the title...but the music has many colours in it Vicen. Very interesting combination with both the flute and trumpets, and the guitars and rhythm are of course a great part of Spanish music. We have many cultures represented in out community & for a week each year they all set up pavilions and provide great entertainment & food for the public. Many of us spend the whole evening at the Spanish speaking pavilions (Chile in particular) as the music is always great (so is the food)...Super job on this one...and your vocals are always top notch...well done...Ed
My speakers love this one Smooth95...and so do my ears...Just an extra cool smooth groove that I can sit back & not my head to..evolves very nicely & like the way you varied the kick from that big low one to a punchier one along the way then brought in the rhythm instruments....really well done....Ed
I could have kept listening for a while Conchness...& didn`t feel sleepy at all...very smooth with some tasty sounds going on...not what I expected when I read your genre preferences but most welcome listening...good job...Ed
WOW....that about covers it...I just spent a half hour last night downloading some of our old fav R&B songs (Gladys Knight, Aretha, et al) and this one just fits in with the group perfectly....really a great job MIM4E...top notch & no complaints at all here ...just enjoying it.....I will leave a few production comments, for what they`re worth over on that forum question of yours....Ed
I Like this one too Dubstep2011...notice some comments on production by others...its pretty close although the snare does detratct just a touch...the vocal is cool as a cucumber though..You metioned not uploading to the Loop in your Gospel Truth comments...Just update your sign in info (which is needed after recent revisions) &its; easy as pie...sure would like to hear some more from you on the Loop....Ed
a very nice easy listening piece of music djdaddio...good work on the keys. I`m not much of a keyboard player but am just trying out Pianoteq Play (lowest price one I could find) in hope of maybe trying a bit harder to make some passable piano accompaniment....enjoyed this one...Ed
beautiful piece of music Simon...this is definately music to smooth out the day and put a smile on ones face..very tasty work on the piano and the soft pads, deep bass and subtle beat make for a really good sounding mix.....very much enjoyed....Ed
Nicely done...song is nicely structured...has the pop rock kind of vibe & like the guitar sound...Noted your comments over on the gear forum Kikajon so had to have a listen..I have tried quite a few of the software guitar processors but nothing that makes me drool has happened yet...although I do often add that free vst Voxengo Tube Amp on an insert after recording as it does a nice job of just warming up tracks where the drive is on the edge.....good song man.....keep on....Ed
Thanks Ed, I appreciate you taking the time listening and commenting. And I'd also like to thank you for the Voxengo tip, I'll have to check that one out.
a very interesting mix Serge....but I have never listened to any of your music that has not been interesting...it does seem to run across several genres but you have made it work...I think mainly with the sustained rythm approach...enjoyed listening to this one....well done...Ed
I like your musical imagination thyroid...a very interesting mix of instruments..the horn parts do take it aside with a different feeling...flows along with intertwining sounds very nicely....well done...Ed
man, I love this one PJB....It reminds me if something good, though I don`t recall what...beautiful sound from that acoustic (12) and everything in this one just fits like a glove and is a treat for the ears...great stuff...thanks for the DL....Ed
I`m feeling lucky I caught up with this one tonight...what a great duo pereformance....but how could it not be with you two making the magic...this is awesome..really don`t have more words that could describe it better....kudos to both of you...Ed
I enjoyed this one too much to think there was much sadness in the guitar djmaestro...but yes..the overall vibe has that hint of sadness that speaks without language...very nicely done...I would have liked to download this one....ED
Chill Out is good with me (but I know little about genres)...heck...you can put it under any genre you like & it will still be good listening music to my ears....Really well done...if this is going back to your roots you`re in a good place DouglasS......Ed
Superbly done Minette...the simple accompaniment just amplifies the excellent vocal performance...willwant to hear this one again...Thanks for the DL....Ed
Wow...thats rock boys....I can think of no bigger compliment than to have a fellow musician use some of my efforts in their music,...so many thanks to you guys....and a great job on this track...the intro almost gives it a kind of dark goth feel and then the good stuff hits the fan....right on (as we used to say)....Ed (Tumbleweed)
Thank you Ed!
MStokes had this uploaded for quite awhile before I decided to upload it myself.I had several ideas to update the song with an intro/outro but nothing fit until I heard your track...perfect,and of course I had to ask and you were very gracious to be a part of this song.
I sent a demo to Mike and his enthusiasm sealed the deal.
well, the whole day wasn`t unproductive Aclraine...you did this one...very smoooth & the big low end contrasts nicely with the keys & synth....think you should keep on going with this one...a little feature melody in there & you`re on the money....Ed
Hey Joe3....very nice drivin bass & beats going on & like that little lead guitar break a bunch....sounds good on the N side of the border too...vocals could maybe be up a bit but you`re hitting it pretty close....keep on man....Ed
Hey Serge...I hear why you love this one man....me too....a bit of James Brown going on in that beat and it has a whole bunch of good company in the rest of the instrumentation....nicely done....ED
