on MuzicIzMee4Ever - Baby Will You Play For Me by Joessoundlab
I`d have sworn you had been doing blues for a while Joessoundlab...MusicIzMee definitely does those vocals that inspire musical accompaniment...really nicely done...The Blues Bros could use your backing track too...lots of power..The kind of blues that gets people moving....right on...Ed

on Only time will tell - featuring MuzicIzMee4Ever by RichieWinn
Those opening guitar lines grabbed my attention right away Richie (sounds a bit like Strat neck pickup?)..This is one of the best songs I have listened to in a long tome (no kidding)..rich emotional lyrics...perfect vocal delivery..and the accompaniment is about as good as it gets....This is pro stuff you two...exceptionally well done....Ed

Hi Ed

It's the neck pickup alright but on my Godin xtsa! Glad you liked the sound and thank you so much for the comments. MIM4E is such an immense talent and putting tracks together with her wonderful acapellas is a pleasure. This was fun to do. Thanks again.

Regards

Richie

Yes...tight package would be the right description....no clutter here (something I am frequently guilty of creating)...just the goods and each part sits clearly in the mix....thanks for the lesson...enjoyed this one...Ed

on Requiem of Transience - Featuring Occacia by Xtaticauk
surprised me a bit to find your new post was an Ambient one X....I`m a fan of the genre (even though I have none posted on The Loop)..it was a most pleasant surpeise too...very good late evening listening over my way....well done indeed....Hope to catch a couple of your other more recent tracks too...Ed

Thank you dude - really glad you enjoyed it - I thought it was time to let my pads out for a walk - I have a hard drive full of these tracks I might slip them out over the next couple of months see what reaction I get...looperman won't let me out as Occacia on my own due to IP address conflict so this side has to sit under my Xtatica label....Thanks again really appreciate the kind comment...:)

on Seaside Shack by DjDaz
this one would be the perfect background music to the scene you describe DjDaz...bouncy but very laid back around that nice little chord prog....pop a top...I`ll be by shortly........well done...Ed

Thanks alot mate! I'm so glad my vision is communicated through the song! I wanted that summery/beach atmosphere in the song, so it means alot when I hear that the conveyance of that picture was successful. Thanks for checking my beat out!

on Be Close To You by DubChip
I`m pretty uneducated on the genre DubChip...so I can`t comment intelligently on the composition structure etc...but I can tell you its dm good listening music over this side of the pond...It really starts to cook when the beats cut in and the ol bass starts thumping...hard not to get your body parts moving....very nicely done...I`ll stop back your way if I ever get up the courage to try some D&B...as I will definitely need lessons & us older guys are a bit thick about trying to learn new genres....keep on mate...Ed

on BELIEVE IN THE LOOP 12 site showcase by DonnieVyros
listened to this one with headphones DV...very nice technique on the mix...like the way you moved things around...(notable the bass part in that last section)....very cool...enjoyed this one...Ed
DonnieVyros
DonnieVyros replied 27th Jan 2012 - 13 years ago
Yeah, since I did the Dreams 2 Dream cover I've been wanting to fool with doing different approaches to the way I arrange the loops in the mix (diff pairings or fades/drops). That bass part at the end was done for that. It was also good to have 'em stand alone for a moment since the drum & bass patterns were kinda similar to one another (the bass was almost like an echo in some parts). Anyways, I'm glad ya dug it mate. Later on!

on My own worst enemy by RichieWinn
wow....great job on this one Richie...and as you say the vocals have the power (excellent lyrics & delivery)..like the sound you are getting from your acoustic too...that is something I just have`nt been able to get right in spite of having a couple of decent mics & lots of direct-in options...I`m using a 1990 Tak (341c) that has been played a lot ...sounds decent di`d through a sound system or acoustic amp, but is just real uneven when I`m looking for a natural mic`d sound...anyway...I`m going on a bit....Everything in this one fits like a glove around the vocals ..just as it should when done by a pro....super piece of work....Ed

RichieWinn replied 20th Jan 2012 - 13 years ago
Hi Ed

Thanks very much for the comments and taking the time to listen. Appreciated. My acoustic on this is my Ovation Celebrity direct in to the desk and with just a little compression. It has active EQ and I always make sure the little 9v battery is new before recording - it makes a difference.

Derek Vickers has an amazing voice and great lyrics. It was a lot of fun putting this track together. Glad you enjoyed it.

Regards

Richie

hahaha, my music is done live whenever i can find someone to work with me, and most of the time we do just go with it, then refine it , then record it to the best of are ability's... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesent..i just want to be original that comes from the heart.

thanks for the listen and review as always tumbleweed..

on En Blanco y Negro by Vicen
black & white in the title...but the music has many colours in it Vicen. Very interesting combination with both the flute and trumpets, and the guitars and rhythm are of course a great part of Spanish music. We have many cultures represented in out community & for a week each year they all set up pavilions and provide great entertainment & food for the public. Many of us spend the whole evening at the Spanish speaking pavilions (Chile in particular) as the music is always great (so is the food)...Super job on this one...and your vocals are always top notch...well done...Ed

on Bacon and Grits Groove by Smooth95
My speakers love this one Smooth95...and so do my ears...Just an extra cool smooth groove that I can sit back & not my head to..evolves very nicely & like the way you varied the kick from that big low one to a punchier one along the way then brought in the rhythm instruments....really well done....Ed

on let me live again by djdaddio
a very nice easy listening piece of music djdaddio...good work on the keys. I`m not much of a keyboard player but am just trying out Pianoteq Play (lowest price one I could find) in hope of maybe trying a bit harder to make some passable piano accompaniment....enjoyed this one...Ed

on Partner in crime DEMO by Kikajon
Nicely done...song is nicely structured...has the pop rock kind of vibe & like the guitar sound...Noted your comments over on the gear forum Kikajon so had to have a listen..I have tried quite a few of the software guitar processors but nothing that makes me drool has happened yet...although I do often add that free vst Voxengo Tube Amp on an insert after recording as it does a nice job of just warming up tracks where the drive is on the edge.....good song man.....keep on....Ed

Kikajon replied 10th Dec 2011 - 14 years ago
Thanks Ed, I appreciate you taking the time listening and commenting. And I'd also like to thank you for the Voxengo tip, I'll have to check that one out.
