Yup, helluva band, huh? & the only one who knew anything about it was AllenV, lol!
Thank you so much, this is one of the first songs I wrote, so I was pleased to get it out of my head, lol!

on Inside Mind by Tormon
Well Simon....whatever era may have influenced it...its that beat-driven kind of music that has always been a bit addicting and makes it hard to not be moving some of the body parts (even if some of mine are getting a bit old)...definitely some very cool retro synth sounds here..the kind of sounds that current players try to emulate often...The vocals do add the icing on the cake here...really nicely done...and I`d be inclined to bring them up a few dBs (they`re good)...Kudos to you two...Look forward to hearing more from you....Ed

Thanks for the advise, I'll try tweaking the track when I get back to my studio tomorrow. And thank you for the compliments.

By the way, you're not the only one with ageing body parts!

on Breathe by RichieWinn
ah yes....found one on your playlist I hadn`t listened to yet...its a bit like getting a present...and every one of your compositions seems to me like you have read my mind & know exactly what I would like to listen to..man...you just get the composition, playing, production and the whole thing totally right every time Richie...I notice you have been usinf ezdrummer in most (maybe all) of your tracks..sure does have a real kit sound..I`m going to check that out for sure as I always have an h of a time with finding drums I like....Thanks Richie..another great track...Ed

Hi Ed

Thanks for the kind words and your support. It is good to know loopers of your calibre find some merit in my work - thank you.

I find EZDrummer a great plugin and so easy to use too. Apart from having some excellent sounds (which you can add to later) all the included grooves have been played in by real drummers. You can also opt to use it in eight channel mode which gives you enormous control when mixing. I'm a big fan and would recommend to anyone - it's not expensive either.

Thanks again for stopping by.

Regards

Richie

on Tell Me Why by 2littleducks
Wow...was my reaction too....Martin is always good company to have in music but I gotta say you really have the vocal character for this kind of track Rachel...It has that kind of hard to describe vibe of some of the folk artists I have really liked...I would bring the vocal(s) up even a bit more....its good...enjoyed this one big time....great job..Hope to get back & catch some more of your tracks when I get back off the road (these ear bud things & a laptop are not ideal listening equipment)..Ed

on Aint Got No Time Blues Music By Mike Kohlgraf by MarieDailly
Hey MarieDailly...you can do these smoooooth blues on my radio any day..nice job on the vocal & the backing music is just where it should be...your production is just fine..you have the bass EQd where it should be and the relative volumes & soundstage placement are just fine....good for you....keep on....Ed

Thank you Ed!
I can't take any credit for the great music, I used it just as I got it! That was all Mike K.
I have a good teacher when it comes to the production- JoyfulWAVE is teaching me & supervising my efforts, lol!
Thanks for the compliment on the vocals :)

on I Cant - ft Patricia Edwards by AllenV
It does indeed sound like a labor of love Allen..Its beautiful music performed with much talent and perfectly produced...Love the acoustic guitar parts & the way it integrates with the keys..vocals excellent (again)..It just is a totally professional piece of work.....But best of all I love the song...and the accompaniment....Thanks for the DL, I`m going to want to listen some more....Ed

Thank you Ed!
I've had this track...with vocals for a month.
The vocal mix messed us up cause Spell and I are kinda starting over with software and computers so Richie was a great help.I think Patricia must have thought we gave up!!
I didn't think it would turn out this well cause of our mixing problem but I appreciate your comments.
I do love the song also and am so glad we got to finish it...this is why we do it and collab, this community is so full of every thing you need..Beats,Loops,Pellas and producers,I'm so grateful to be a part of this family.

Allen.

You two make really good musical company...this is pro stuff WongKiShoo....kudos to you on the production values here too...super job...can`t go wrong with patricia at the mic but the music really kicks the whole song waaaay up...now you are corrupting me with this House stuff just when I was wallowing comfortable around in them Blues....I`ll be back over here when I need some lessons in the genre....top marks....Ed

Patricia's abilities are amazing. It can be an uphill struggle to work with vocalists sometimes,.. but she makes it so easy!

Really glad you enjoyed the track man :)

on doin the damn thing by carlosnble
I love where you are going with this one carlosnble...smooooth and catchy...and just invites some soulful vocal or some kind of little solo line that doesn`t overpower waht you already have...only thing I might suggest:..In spite of how much I like the 2 chord prog here...you really need to vary the prog or key somewhere along the line to kick this one up to its potential...sounds like Bm - Em all then way..maybe a move to Am-Dm for a little bridge section would do the trick....anyway...its dm good listening anyway and gotta say I enjoyed this big time....keep it going....Ed

Hey Ed...thanks for coming by and listening...i appreciate your comments and i've been thinking of several variations some complicated and some some subtle..i was also thinking about transposing this piece and add another dynamic all together with a sax solo then bringing it back around...trouble is i think too much istead of letting the song come to me...what ends up happening is, i shelve it...but i sure appreciate the suggestion...i guess i will bring it back up for more consideration then...i'm glad you liked the basic idea

brillbilly...you do music that carries a lot of emotion...and really isn`t that the thing that music is most effective at....Love this one. I hear the thoughtfulness and musical ear that went into the composition...and it comes across like a warm blanket on a cold night over my way....superb.....Ed

Thank you tumbleweed!

Im what i call a 48 yd novice,lol
I do play guitar and keyboards but i cant read music.
The only way i can make music if from the heart.

I do what i think sounds ok!

The suprize comes in others enjoying what i portray im my Tracks!
I can go from Trance to chillout or even folk or rock
depending on my feelings!
All done on my trusted Magix Dance ed 3 lol

The real stars are those that give me the loops in the first place and those like yourself that stop by to say very kind words!
So thank you!
Im real pleased you liked it and even more please you get the drift
in the track the somber feel is not about saying goodby, but about precious moments that we cherish.
A warm blanket on a cold night...........you got it!

on SKANKY ANN by Planetjazzbass
NOw...this is jazz I can getinto in a big way...I`ve gone to a few jazz clubs in the past & couldn`t quite get into the head-nodding going on around me as it was the traditional kind of stuff that has always sounded to me like everybody was playing a different tune (I`m thick that way)...This is THE music...and big talent comes with every player in the band....Slap is deadly...and love the work on that fretless (did Iget that right) Dave....keys fill the bill exactly right...man this is top notch stuff guys...I`m in awe...Do some more...I`ll be downloading for more listens (thanks).......Ed

Hey Ed thanks man!....I felt that way about Trad Jazz that my dad used to play (though I like it now,but wouldn't try and play it,not my scene)...yep that's my fretless,I always wanted the Jaco sound(what bass player didn't),but you can only get that sound with an epoxy covered fingerboard and since I've had this bass which has a natural ebony board untreated I much prefer it's sound, more woody and a lower growl....plus why emulate when you can go your own way..oh dear I've started to gear talk..I'm hopeless,I could go on and on and bore everyone to sleep...thanks again mate! cheers Zap,Slap and Dave :)

If I had just a little of our friend Bear`s talent I likely wouldn`t be near as humble as he is....the man is dynamite on anything of his I have listened to...I have a folder with his name on it....and this one is just a fine exhibit of you versatility Patricia....lots of energy...If I had a bit more hair I`d be shaking it or jumping in the mosh pit (no I take that part back...at my age that would kill me)...Great stuff from two big talents...way to go.....Ed

Thanks Ed!

I've added that little transition to make it musical, I didn't really wanted it to come to a complete halt and then jump into the second song.

Didn't get news from the vocalists so most likely these will get mixed and uploaded once I get some free time.

Thank you for the stop!

just catching up with this one this morning...did you do the video Dave?...Its one fantastic bit of picture painting music. I read the description as I was hitting play so maybe I`m a bit biased but it sure brings the scenes to mind...It reminds me too of how sad it is when a bunch of twisted old me serving their diety of hatred & death so cruely misuse young peoples minds & bodies....super job on the mixing & production too by the way....great track....Ed

Man, that break to the bass & the guitar part that follows is genius Richie...and the rest of the accompaniment is what many of us would strive for without reaching....and Oh Yeah...super vocal patricia (as always) and really nice job by Richie placing the harmony parts in the mix....most soulfully cool rendition by our fav duo...with a wee touch of Motown vibe thrown in for good measure....Ed
