I had to hit the Play button on this one just because it is the first track I have caught on the Loop since I got here that was in the Comedy genre...I love your musical imagination you two...and I like that little pregression running through the whole thing...and I like the idea that you`re having fun doing music together...good on ya...keep on doing it....Ed
thanks ed, just trying to show her how easy it is to record almost anything her heart desires....this was something we did for the fun of it....thanks for the review as always...
I knew from the title I wasn`t going to hearing the usual..That is a real smooth beat and backing layer for dubstep (not that I clain to know squat about many genres) and then the querkier stuff fits it to the title...Gotta say it does make for good listening..my ears were perked to the last note so that tells me I found some interesting & good listening music (my radio never has any of it)..Nicely done SM...enjoyed...keep on....Ed
lol its cool, i dont know anything about dubstep really. i just set tempo to 140 and go. thanks for the listen ed, glad you liked it. and stay away from the radio, its bad.
Just finished listening to a version by PieroPeluche & thought it was great....and now here is another one..really like the way you did this one cdouble34...its good listening over my way....Ed
Hey PieroP...just had to log in to leave a big OH YEAH on this one...fabulous job on the music & production and Patricia`s vocal is up to its always high standard..great piece of musical work man...really is well done.....Ed
Lock up that big kick drum phantom...its definitely a keeper..I like the musical imagination you used here (did you do the horn parts?)...this is cool stuff...a bit addicting & thats what a good rhythm does ...well done.....keep on....Ed
I definitely got that kick locked away in my bag-o-goodies. I did do everything on this track. it took about 3 months total. thank you for the posetive feedback. i'm waiting for vocals to come through as we speak. this is by far one of my favorite tracks, and i'm my own worst critic. (aren't we all). thanks again. peace.
No advice from me VSS...I am a bit lost when it comes to the electronica genres/sub-genres, but I know the situation of which you speak (I wouldn`t know what the h to do if I went to one of today`s dance clubs...except look at the girls)..I must say..no one will ever accuse you of being a one genre musician (most of my friends & old bandmates are still doing the same thing they always did)...like your musical imagination and I like this one...its good listening in any genre...some really interesting sounds..how about that synth that sounds almost like a digeredoo...believe it or not I have a friend down in Oz who has done some amazing music with the real ones in the mix....right on....keep doing it....Ed
Hiya Ed my friend, hope all is well in your part of this world ? Thanx so much for the listen & kind review. Nightclubs/party scene first lol. Don't miss it and wouldn't wanna be back there. I had my moment, it was fun, wouldn't change anything but hey ho let's go and move forwards. Genres are just labels. To post tracks up we have to choose a genre so we do. Maybe an alternative setting maybe best for this? On a personal note I'm trying to make tracks at the moment that have a background and meaning for me. I tried that with this track. History and all that jazz. I enjoy switching styles. It's not always sucsessful but it streches the aural muscles. I tend to work in a dance music format as that suits my style but I want to try dance with a twist. If I get there or not depends on me I suppose? I'm glad you "got" what I was trying with this one. The digeredoo sound is a synth bass loop with lots of sub-bass & stereo effects put on it and yeah it sounds OK (as an aside I have a track on the back burner that is digeredoo driven but as yet I haven't found the final spark to take it forward). Thanx again mate for taking time out to stop by, listen & review. Comments from such talented individuals as yourself are proof, to me, that what I do as a hobby is worth sharing with the wider Looper family. Respect to you, peace , love & justice as well.
Hey WonKi...I`m a bit uneducated about the electronica genres including House...but when music sounds good my ears perk right up whatever genre you may call it...this one evolves really nicely...sounds good this Wed evening over here...and kudos to Mahloo13 on the production..everything is right there, nice & clear with all the life still in the sounds....great stuff guys....Ed
Man...this is one perfect laid back piece of listening for this Wed night smmr...just one of those grooves that pulls you in & carries you along....really well done....Ed
wow...this is so emotional & good & all the positive adjectives I could think of....vocals & piano...that is everything that is needed when they are together like this..beautiful piece of music Patricia and there is in my opinion no bigger talent than our friend Bear to whom it should be dedicated...you are a wonderfully accomplished pair....well done....Ed
great job Ignomus...nice patient intro...built up...like the way you have placed the sounds and you have some really good production values here.....enjoyed this one....Ed
bravo Vicen...the Spanish nylob string guitar is geat for making happy sounding music with lots of energy..liked those little effects you put on small parts of the vocal..very effective....good listening...I do not like to compare to others but the music (rhumba) did remind me a little of The Gypsy Kings..a groiup I have enjoyed listening to in the recent past....Ed
Indeed, Gipsy Kings are Catalan rumba. Parents of band members were exiled Catalans. It is normal to remember them as the basis of this song is rumba Catalan, only a few special touches of guitar and a special touch in the voice, which contrasts with the music. Thank you for your observant comment.
I`m way late catching up with this one (but I`m way late for lots of stuff lately)...really nice use of the delay on the keys..gives the melody lines a nice push...thought the vocal was a little quiet in the mix though it sounds really good and so does the rest of the mix...for some reason the track just quit on me aroynd 7:23...but that might be this old PC I keep on line...Really nicely done FR....Ed
No, the track does just quit for some reason. I need to do another conversion and reup it. I have no idea why it did that and it's pretty annoying.
Thanks for dropping by and leaving your thoughts.

Man...I love this one..can`t consider myself a fan of jazz standards but I really like to hear some of the concepts with a modern touch...Would really like to hear you finish this one Stephen...its got a whole lot of promise so if this short piece is any indication you gotta have a good one going...be great if you even mail me for a listen when you do the rest...It`ll be worth it....keep on...Ed
Better count me in as a daydreamer Chris...perfect sound track for it...although to be honest, I feel like popping a local brew right now & just sitting back for another listen...very smooth listening of the variety that leaves you feeling good....well done...Ed
Richie...you`re the master my man....taking on a classic like this is no small feat but you sure done it justice...and then some....vocal is excellent & the accompaniment is just right on....reminds me just a little of "Simply Red"...the way it comes together....bravo....Ed
I wondered if this cover might be a "step too far" but so far judging by the comments we look to have gotten away with it! Thank you so much for your comments - it's always good to have you visit, listen and write some words. Much appreciated. The vocal is as you say "excellent" and Rozlyne will be pleased with that. Simply Red? I'm happy with any reference to that. Thanks.
beautiful piece of music theGodspeed...thoughtfully composed, played with talent and a great listen over my way this afternoon..Thank you for the download, I`m going to want to listen again.....Ed
well good for you PieroPeluche....I would never guess you hadn`t done this hundreds of times before...This is top class R&B with a little touch of the 70s vibe (big decade for the sound)...the vocal is special (as would be expected from Patricia) and I must compliment you on the instrumentation and the fact that you have it perfectly placed around the nice up-front vocal sound....right on....Ed
I'm glad you appreciated this song, more than you can imagine, because it's really the first time I play a slow R&B like this . Patricia drives me in unknown places... lol. Thanks.
Bravo....perfectly done...its a tune I have heard many times down East (Cape Breton) and a fav at the music fests there...I have done more than a few Celtic tunes (being originally from N Ireland) that try to combine the traditional & some modern sounds...but nothing like this Bill...beautiful work on the instrumentation and the vocal & harmonies are totally on the money.....very much enjoyed...I could go for a lot more like this.....Ed
Bravo Dave....the way the whole composition, instrumentation, playing & delivery comes together on this one it outa sight good..the nylon string & playing style do give it a touch of that Spanish air (I notice that a nylon string almost invites you to do that when you pick it up....though I haven`t done that in a long while)...superb playing & expression and I think you accomplished the space you were looking for...I mcould listen to this one for a long time, so thanks for the DL...goes on my mp3 player right away...Ed
Hey Ed thanks mate!...when a guitarist tells a bass player his six string playing is ok it really makes his day I can tell you!...ages ago I used to play with these guys and was always hassling the guitarist to let me play his Tele,I used to lengthen the strap a little, get an open legged stance and pretend to be 'Keef' Richards! LOL..now I never play from the hip..haha.....thanks again mate! cheers Dave :)
Man...that is one addicting little acoustic guitar prog...I can hear why you loved it. Great piece of work on the song and its delivery...sounds dm fine to me...and better that much of what I hear on my radio.....well done....Ed
Thanks so much tumbleweed, just saw your review. And I'll agree that the guitar is very addicting and the exact reason I took a liking to the track. That part about better that much of what you hear on your radio...that's a huge compliment, really appreciate that. :)
very nicely done...nice job on the lyrics & delivery...and I love that big fat piano sound....its so good it may be just a little bit overpowering, but I really like the piano even though I claim to be a bit of a guitar player....It makes for an interesting decision when you have two components of a mix that are both this good....my background taught me to always give priority to the vocal, so maybe I would either pull the piano back just a wee bit...or insert a mid-side processor (or stereo widener) on the piano to leave a bit of a space in the middle for the vocal (which is really well done)...I would do both..and pump the voical up just a tiny and fat notch....anyway...you have a good onbe going here...enjoyed the listen....keep on....Ed
Well, now that I`ve been listening to some of your tracks I know where to check when I need a bit (a lot in my case) of genre education...If I had been listening to this in my band days (just after the last ice age) I would swear somebody had slipped the goods into my brew....but, you know what...I`m getting to like it....its partly your fault FreeRadical....really did enjoy the listen...so now I have to go apologize to my ol guitar....keep on man.....Ed
Thanks Ed, Sorry for the late reply. No excuses. I just got struck down with a serious case of lazyitus. (I'll never learn, It's only taken me two hours to catch up with my comments lol)
Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments as usual. I'm not quite done with this one yet but i'm struggling to think of what needs to be done to it. Hopefully some time away will help it click in.
Cheers again.
