on Walking In The Rain by MGproduct
It's very magical and unexpected how you transition to the acoustic guitar at .48 secs in. I might find a way to color/effect this quiet section to connect it a bit more stylistically with louder sections. nice work. Dan

on Gravity by Fl4zh
that explosion at .51 secs in is powerful. I see you use these quick blasts throughout - it's very effective. when the synth comes in for the last bit it seems a bit loud. but great energy in this one. cheers!

on Dawn of the legend by DijamMusic
It says a lot about your flexibility and knowledge as a composer that you can do such an epic job with this 80s feel. Of course it's easy for me to write 80's style 'cause I just haven't caught up yet! LOL! But really - you stay true to the genre and make a happy, great sounding track! Nice job! Dan

on Some Peace Tonight feat Matty Myles by MagneticRecords
you did a good job of matching the anguish of the lyric with tension in the music itself. that's an accomplishment. your track is working great. the vocals and the vocal mixing are particularly sweet. nice work! congrats!

on November Romance by Orlando51
It's strange that I trained in conservatory as an oboist and now writing for orchestral instruments, let alone playing, is the furthest thing from where I am at. Well, at least I can appreciate composers such as you who do beautiful work with the traditional instruments, in combo of course with synths, etc. Beautiful track, Orlando.
Orlando51
Orlando51 replied 20th Dec 2015 - 9 years ago
Wow...I didn't know you were an oboist..nice surprise!:)
Yeah, I do quite alot of those mixtures between classical
and contemporary instruments lately with an almost improbable attempt to make them sound as if they belonged together.:)

Thanks alot for listening and friendly comment1

on I Aint Ever Coming Back DEMO by ImproveWithError
I like your singing a lot. I can understand all the words! Is that a steel guitar you use for some bits of countermelody here and there (I heard a bit of sliding)? Nice work. Good luck with further development.
ImproveWithError
ImproveWithError replied 20th Dec 2015 - 9 years ago
Hey,

The slide guitar is actually my Telecaster with a little chorus, and a whole lot of reverb going into a Fender tweed amp. I usually use Pod Farm, or Waves GTR3 for my guitar sounds, I don't have the space for amp. Both sound pretty good and are easy to tweak. Thanks for listening and commenting, I appreciate it.

i like the bed of sounds you've created a lot - the bell-like electric piano, strings, bass. and the vocal mix is sweet. great work. good luck pushing this one out. peace. Dan

on DTMYLM Feat Kamoflage by 7venth12
It is an interesting effect "go, go, go,. . ." in sync with the synth. And the synth is an interesting effect in itself. I like the dramatic effect of the dialogue. It's a compelling piece. Nice work. All the best. Dan

on The Eternal Surprise Backing Track by Solid111
Great sound and yes - I immediately thought this should be a song. The lyrics make me think of Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass. Not that the style of writing is the same, but the theme of being an old soul whose job is to be a voice of optimism. I think Whitman thought of himself like this. Good luck finding the right partner on this one. Should be great.

Thank You For Your Response, i looked into Walt Whitmans Work and i love his essence and vibe of Work, i dont know why but i always thought of a poet as a lyricist and what Walt Does as Prose but hearing his work has reshaped my whole understanding of everything, i guess there are no parameters for lyrical techniques but i myself like my lyrics to rhyme, and thank you for your support, i hope to hear what people can do with this track, but here is my version of this song

and here is the acapella for others to write music to

on The Hope by Enzotic
You have a great sound going here. I like the little headfake with reverse cymbal? when I think you are about to do a drop but then you hold back for another bar or so. And the drop itself has great energy. Lots of interesting sound combinations. Nice listen! Best regards - Dan

The banjo is an interesting sound to introduce and your transition from that to your synth is smooth. I learned something about jungle genre from this one. Nice job. Best regards. Dan

on Constellation by Evisma
I like the idea of "3 movements" - sort of a nod to classical form - and maybe it gives you more freedom to bring in a variety of styles/genres - which I feel you do in an effective way. The live playing is fantastic. I love that new synth and groove at around 1:15-1:20. The throat singing is crazy fresh. Cool track. Great work!

Hello, Mr. Sparks.

I do like making tracks with separate sections. I don't typically repeat a part once I've moved from it, so it helps with big changes.

Busy with a new track or I would do your musical image interpretation. Appreciate the offer!

Thanks again for the listen and the feedback.

on Spe - Through The Fire by freeflyer
well paced build to sustained level at beginning. and I like how the vocals stay on top of the mix but are part of it also - like instruments. It's a nice thing. I love how it builds to the next more intense section. It is very musical and, again, really well-paced. Big fav! Really enjoying it.

on The Night by SecretSam123
I love your use of the "washes" of cymbal. And everything is well placed and balanced - truly invites a vocalist. Now I'm hearing the drop and the timing and feeling is exactly right. Well done! Big fav!

on Stop the wars by JasonCroft
Your choice of plucked sound over your beat for first part is very good. It creates tension and also makes room for your war sound effects. The robot section near the end is very fun and sounds cool. It seem you do end on an optimistic note, am I wrong?
JasonCroft
JasonCroft replied 16th Nov 2015 - 10 years ago
Thanks for your care
aa, actually if you listen to robots dialogs
they're saying that we are better than humans and we should attack and kill all the humans
and after the attack, when they killed all humans, they can't live without humans because they need to be charged and being cared.
so nature will capture the world again, and we have just plants, birds and animals... it means the earth is empty of humans and civilization
thank you

on 06 Torn by OmarMuk
Omar - you create for me in the music exactly the reflective mood I feel when thinking about this subject of civilians trapped in a war. We are very lucky in the United States to be spared the domestic chaos so many countries - now also France - suffer.

Good use of the orchestral pallet - it is not always an easy family of samples to tame!

Thanks a bunch Dan.

Yes you are absolutely right. Now we, as in those who live in the U.S. as there are many people all over the world on Looperman.

Ah the orchestral fam is my favorite one! Except I like modern drums to go with them.

Thanks again for the feedback!

on Mora Done by Byleth
very fresh sounding with your organ-like synths, and the female voices, brass instrument sounds, and of course rich in percussion.

We have here a great march to battle, perhaps the embarkation on some great military expedition by an army of Amazonian women! How's that for starters?!
Byleth
Byleth replied 15th Nov 2015 - 10 years ago
Hello dear Midisharks, you comment is like a revelation ; im so happy you did notice something else than my drum...

what I love then most is than every instruments use a different melody except the Brass and Organ for the outro.

your "demo" of this story is pretty interesting, so you take the Female voice as Amazonian and the strange growl could be some animals who live in this forest. Also the main drum is the military march and the drum at var (Timpani) as a tribal one.

I strongly recommend you to write down the full version in the forum your imagination is incredible

Thanks for your entry and this great feedback !

At the very end I like that you bring it back down again. I am sure you could continue and do another build. I like the synth choices and effects - especially the bit of glide I heard (forget the term right now). Best of luck with more development! Dan
