Wow this goes HARD right off the start! Has that rising from the ashes feel to it, Dude Yesh, this so slick. Cant wait for that finish brother!
The strings have a rhapsody feel, like theyre flowing around the track. I just realized that when it comes to strings, you really know how to handle bro.
Yeah, this has that creep dark n disturbed feel to it, and im feeling it right now. those piano touches are indeed very nice. Great use of loops and its well composed. Its def a good one considering Halloween is right around the corner.
Its also laid back and thoughtful, i can imagine this in a movie very easily.
Yeah Im feeling this kick back country/ midwest feel. Its like Aesop Rock mixed with a Blues singer. Cant wait for the finish bro, this will end up being a fav for sure. You know a small touch Id dig is maybe a rhythm track running underneat and kicking in about mid song. Thatd liven it up a bit.
Then again, maybe I dnt want to hear that lol...might ruin the laid back feel.
Meh who knows, 2 versions? Lol
Let me know when you update it.
Alright... I was considering MAYBE adding a touch of rhythm to the final version, but I'm still on the fence about it, I'll give it a shot and see how it sounds. I like the idea of it not coming in until after a verse or two though... Worse case scenario I'll post the two versions like you said. Thanks for the review, I'll hit you up when it's done.
I like that atmos feel in this, youre dead on about that, the rhythm really creeps in! its also very different, not standard on 2 n 4 syncopated percussion. The tiny synth details really make this track stand out, great use of altering that X n Y LFO :P
When that distinct kick comes in it really moves the track along, and when that piano like sample with the Amen breaks kicks in it REALLY makes me feel like this track deserves an extension. either that or a part two? lol This is a favorite for me, and it deserves it.
thnx scythe, cool that you could hear that manual x&y editing, cheers, partially as a result of your comment I'm thinking of a way to add part two to this track. thnx all
We tried man, now we see what people think. Part of the process is having a lot of growing pains, and a lot of flinches lol. Beyond if you could give some pointers for whatevers wrong thatd be great. Appreciate the listen.
Very heartfelt, a lot of soul in this. Your voice and flow has a lot of potential, I dig that relaxed vibe you have. I think that hook should be covered by a female voice brother, it'd add more flavor. To be honest the autotune wasn't my favorite part however the lyrics are deep, and I would enjoy collabing with you man. Hit me up at broken.scythe@yahoo.com and let me know what track of mine you'd like to try and just send some thoughts/ideas/lyrics on it and we'll go from there.
great track, really though
Peace to ya
umm is the Hook a Chorus.. haha yea is so noob.. yea it really sucks that i am alone here on this. my band is like 10,000 miles away.. but thanks. i really have no idea how to make a CHorus, but dude id love to do a track to your beats, but i am uber new to mixing so id be alot more work to work with, but i am down man.. thanks for the listen man means alot
Wow this is different, that bass is very deep and has that hint of squelchy :P I DIG IT! the lil organ backline really moves the track along, the small chiptuney beep synth is a subtle yet strong touch. dig the dynamics in the rhythm! subtle but nicely done. This whole track(except the bass) bleeds subtlety, yet is a great example of its power. Details are a must for any great producer, and you exemplify this well Spiv. I love that the track doesnt just burn out, but goes out with that nice bass change up and nice rise crash touch. A head nodder indeed, great work :D
Wow, what a very thorough and well thought out review! Your opinions are really helpful! I think this one turned out good, so I'm glad you agree! Thanks so much for listening and reviewing!
Very different and relaxed, just felt good. I dig the distorted drum breaks. And yeah that switch from relaxed tribal day to a celebrative tribal night was just awesome. It felt like a day in the Savannah in fast forward. The EQ sounds fine, specifically for this track. Im sure though that you had a great learning experience through this. Thats very good, and I think this is a significant step forward for ya. Very nice Thanx, very nice.
Thanks scythe! always good to have you comment on my tracks! I'm planning on giving it a bit of a remaster in the near future. But until then my brother in mobile music production! I'm off to review one of yours!
Yeah this is very clean Yesh, nice melodramatic feel. Great use of various strings, horn touches are nice. Someone can go HARD on this. Like mad. Now that I think of it thats true for most of your tracks lol. Great track brotha, we gotta chill again soon man. Hit me up.
Peace
This is sick Butcha, a lot of feeling in it. Great use of vox, and the snare change ups are so clean. Great break-ins for the percussion, nice touches with the strings. Piano melodies are AWESOME. They really ride through the track.
Damnit Butcha, always bringing the heat. Great work brother.
what happed to the end? it cut me short lol.
I was expecting it to finish out with some piano licks, but man this is still awesome as is.
Chilled to it, keep grinding man.
Peace.
thanks again bro!!! really appreciate the review... always good to hear one from you... you seem to get right down to it, and point out those minor things... which says something ;)
ahh yeah, about the end.... i remember i had a better ending but it didnt get rendered for some weird reason.... that a good idea though... can't wait till i finish this one
Wow this is sick, great jack n collab :D
I bet you just felt it huh? went and just recorded n couldnt help but upload lol.
Great flow, wait...Im confused
Whatd you say about RSE? are you part of RSE?!
This is a very relaxed chill track. Fun and simple, unique and rolling. Just feels good, the guitar is extremely relaxing.
Its odd, that scale you played in is very different, but its nice!
I enjoyed this Spiv!
Your comments are much appreciated! This was a fun track to do, and I'd like to do more like it. Just got to get inspired on the guitar again! I like the phrygian mode, it's got a nice sound to it. Thanks much for listening and reviewing!
Haha Welcome to hell :P
Im not a big fan on hardcore either, but this is twisted! And sick, the bounce on it is crazy >.<
Is it just me or does the synth sound its laughing at me? lol, like some evil lil demon.
I dig the melancholy in this, fun and different. Vox samps were used well, moved it along. and that part where you sampled your own melody was VERY nice, mixed it up nicely.
Keep grinding bro!
thank u for reviewing and that u took the time to listen cause it is not ur genre. im flattered u liked it so much basically ractions like this motivate me ! thnx again my friend
Ok this is very different, and relaxing. I dig this ALOT. Very nice combo, its different and flows. The guitar is very nice, I just think you guys need a synth or something to spice things up. However this very live sounding, and once again.
The guitar is >sick<
bass is tight as well.
Great work, keep grinding man.
This is very vibey brother, has a nice artic feeling around it. The piano touches are so clean, they ring out at you. I think it could maybe use a more definitive hook section brother, maybe drop the main synth for it a throw in a piano melody strict for the hook?
Its good as is though Yesh, someone can go mad on this.
Peace bro. Hit me up!
Haha Don! nice nice NICE, Im digging this flow, and this is faved because Im feeling it. Haha I should send this when someone gets on my nerves. LoL just a funny track dog, nice one.
Haha Don, dont trip on Million, hes very bitter. Wasnt taught manners or proper communication skills.
Did you produce the beat? it isnt bad, very relaxed.
The lyrics have some depth, your flow is still developing it would seem, but you can tell a story dog, thats already a huge accomplishment. I dig that your not stuck on just punchlines, but youll write it into a story.
Haha the ending lol
"WTF dude?"
I dig it fam, keep grinding
thanks fam,
u made my day thinks for the props
im not tripping on million because

Telling you, master of percussion man. Huge inspiration for me. The dark vibe rides through it, the string cuts add nice mellodrama to it, the small synth touches as well. Breakdown is sick >.<
Storytime beat for sure, please dont let no one come wack on this, its deep and paints a picture. It just needs someone to describe it well.
Second break down was sick as well, am I trippin or is the percussion changing up as the song rolls out? lol
ending came up quick to me, but if the rapper makes it work right it can really strike at the heart.
Great great work Butcha. Faved
nope, no wackness is gonna be on this one hahaha.... and umm, your right again.. i chopped a prec loop in the second breakdown, added a high end phaser and filtered it, to give it some swing.. and layered them under my main kit... and then just did a different break... i love switching it up a lil... good to see some people notice the small things about a track...
Wow this is so sick, the melodies all play off eachother well, nice orch loop from the homie Yesh for sure. Has that oreintal feel, as well as that rise up and fight, better yourself sound. The perc is so on point, the tambs really bounce the track along. I hear those small details in the rhythm, your HUGE on percussion Butcha, so damn slick with it. Bassline rolls the track along nicely.
Try and tell me this cant be a intro for a movie, intro to a sick album or just a bomb as hell track in general.
Great work fam. Faved, and mad respect.
hey mate.... yeah Yesh did kill those strings!!!! appreciate the comments bro... and your right, i LOVE making the drum tracks... it's probs my fav part of producing a track... really, the drums are a melody in itself! it can be the difference between and average track or a bloody great one... u can add so much to a track with good variation, automation, dynamics and effects in respects to the prec... means a lot bro thanks heaps!!! ohh almost forgot, i am getting some vocals on this... ill update it when they are mastered etc.. and ill give u a shout ;)
Yeah this is pretty slick, its different and really cries out. The rolls are very nice, the perc is pretty on point. Id say maybe drop that synth volume a bit(the second melody to come in), its a bit too loud.
I do like how it builds, original and has depth. Breakdown was nice. Ending was slick :P
Good work brother.
O yeah man, def digging this! Night in L.A. for sure, because we both know how twisted it gets when night hits man. I dig the synth back work, I know once you master it up it will be sounding really fresh and not drown the rest of the track so much.
Yo just an oddball suggest, maybe drop some vox of deals, premeditation (of robs) or just scheming in general ("Taking my money and doubling it up")
Great track brother, I think it has a lot of potential in it actually, and the finished thing will no doubt be perfect for some storytelling rap.
Let me start by saying this is a great piece, I really enjoyed it!
Bass is too heavy brother, albeit at times it actually works, it can def drop down a bit. Some of your samples are too piercing, perhaps EQ them a bit. That or simply lower their volume. Im specifically looking at the blaring horn or guitar sample.
This is a great piece. Really moves and stays busy. I enjoyed it Thanx.
Ok sorry for the long reply... wanted to wait til I had actually updated with your suggestions... I'm altered the mix a bit, let me know how that bass is... I still can't hear it really in my headphones...
