Nice sound with a great vocal, late 90's and I date myself by saying it reminded me of that time,a little Sugaray but my 26yr old son say's it's much better and many people have arrived on the scene since I listened to pop music.
It's a more reggae vocal, but remember I'm old and limited but I love it:)...
thanks Allen for the feedback. sorry for the slow reply, been travelling a lot for work, and have had limited internet access so not logged on. Agree this track is a mix of styles, I like to borrow from all genres and periods, Will check out your tracks.
You always have a great way with percussion and how to build a song.
Like my other reviews of your songs, you impress me with the ebbs and tides of this track, you know how to go from point A to Z and produce A great song...and this is not even...AGAIN...my genre!
I am A fan of what you do Nick,The intro was great to me cause of the build up,which I believe adds so much to any song.
When I heard your drums come in I knew I loved it...you know I can't do drums and you made them happen.
Honestly, your production and the added instruments reminded me of why our collab...with your talent was a great song.
I've heard many songs using this pella, your's is number one but I believe your contributions surpass the pella,no offense to her it's just that in this situation you rise way above the vocal to create such a cool song that would not require any additions and anyone could have filled in where you wanted...but you don't need it,unless it's my guitar of course:)
Thanks Allen. I'm a bit gutted that i keep having to resort to posting old tracks but some of them are still not bad. I got a new lap top although i think "crap top" would be a better description as it can't seem to handle what i want to do with it and it makes life painfully slow with regards to getting anything finished.
Glad you could stop by and give it a listen. Your comments are always welcome. (I must make a point of returning the favour as i've been real slack with the comments just lateley)

Awesome Sasu74!
This is fantastic, the production and that guitar...I am biased and it's great my friend...and the bass, where did that come from,no matter, you did magic with this song...I love it!
Heheh, yes sir,i am biased towards the guitar too so i can understand ^^ Thank you for the kind words,Allen :)
When i mixed this one,i was visualizing the drums, keyboards, bass, guitar and the vocals, all playing it live in a big room. That helped me thru the mixing for sure. But of course,i go by these ears that ive been given so thank GOD for that :)
The bass comes from this simple sample player. Those are real bass samples of some older Fender bass,Fender Presicion i think. But of course, pretty much every note is what i would´ve played with a real bass.
Nice to read comments from a real music lovers like yourself, sir :) GOD bless ya :)
Gear track Elaine,I love the tempo...it made me smile along with that guitar riff(I'm kinda biased you know)Wow,again the tempo and bass are great...drives this funky song all the way home!
Thanks for all of your support Allen. I just hope your ears can recover from the marathon session over here at my place, haha. Greatly appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment. I hope you are well.
I'm with you all the way on this tune,it has a very snappy funky feel that won't let you go.The bass sets the mood and pace...I love the fx..Chorus?
That guitar accent was so great to hear, with the drums it keeps things poppin' and the keys were true to the genre.
Hey Bud thanks for the review and listening. Glad you enjoyed this one! Thought it was time to jump on the Funk Wagon. Took a while to find and modify the right loops. Think I will take another listen myself and get a little funky here at work. LOL Thanks again!! Filaofsoul
This is one of my favorite songs from Chaka.
I had to listen to it twice to "get it"...and once I got your version I loved it!
Maybe a little "Tell Me Something Good" next?!
It's one of my favorite songs from Chaka, too. ^__^ Thank you, and hey, I'll try that one of these days. Sooner than later though especially since I have her whole Epiphany album on my iPod and on CD. I'm glad that everyone is loving this so far. =)
I absolutely love your guitar tone,it is quite different from what I've heard from you.
think after the first few seconds when the guitar came in it was so important in setting the darker feel of the song.
Those chords at the end brought a smile to my face and the Keys were right on the money.
Hey Bill, did you do the synth voices I hear? cause they add a great deal to the overall sound, very good.
Of course a big complement to David and Chris...yes this is a nice surprise....Say hello to David for me and pass on my best complements.
Thanks very much for the review. Actually it was David who did all the choir voicing. Definately set a tone with the song for sure. I stayed away from any lead as I thought it Dr. Deal's Keyboard solo saidd all that needed to be said on this track....he just totally rocked !
Wonderful song and your tasteful guitar is a treat.
The ebow is very nice,I first heard it years ago, late 70's from Christian guitarist Phil Keaggy,he was my first inspiration cause I grew up in a Christian home, father was a Pastor and Phil was all I listened
to...that my parents knew;)
Still would like to develop this mood glad you liked it AllenV. The ebow has been in my consciousness since I saw Mike Campbell from the Heartbreakers use one back in the day, only recently acquired one and still feels like Star Trek lol.
Cheers
