some nice ideas here brother.. love that throaty pad as a lead at the start... not sure of the genre but I'm not the genre police so.. ah well!! over all a well produced track would have like a little more speed but I liked it.. keep 'em coming brother
Aha - tempo! Yeah, I think the DnB tends to be quite a bit faster, and yet this is driven really by drums and bass...so I don't know. I might be pushing the generic definition here. In my previous response I said I'm not quite sure about ht tempo either, so I'm glad you called it. Makes me think my impulse is probably correct here. Thanks for the encouragement!
hey brother there are some nice ideas here .. the bass for me is just a little too low on the scale if you pick it up too around f2 it'll sound soooo much better and the kick drum needs to come down in the mix... maybe try some reverb on those drums just an idea... anyway like I said some nice ideas but just needs a little extra work for my tastes.. keep 'em coming brother
oh my... this sounds like like miss piggy on a smack fueled night out.. so dirty.. for me I just wish it was a little longer.. but very nice work.. great production maybe you could do with a little more low end (sub it up) but nice... keep 'em coming brother
yeah your right actually it probably could do with some more sub. And Im intentionally making shorter songs now, because I have a tendancy to go on for ever. And people lose interest that way so, its good that you wanted more. :)
nice.. I love the eastern feel those instruments really get my hairs on the back of my neck up... this track is dub smoking a houkka in Marrakesh brother.. nice I love it.. you work those effects so well beautiful... keep 'em coming brother
Hey Numberjack - cheers again for creating that little game! This is one of my first 3 tracks made in this medium, and probably the one that convinced me to continue doing the "solo" approach. Thanks for the review and encouragement, my UK brother!
ooohh.. now this take me back to the band television.. some post velvet underground lou reed... you know? blank generation? Transformer?.. anyway nice production I would have been a little heavier with the bass because that early stuff was always bass driven.. Listening I thought straight away richard hell... stranglers.. keep 'em coming brother
Yup, your right on the money with those bands!! Thanks for the listen! It's an older 8 bit recording, lacks some fidelity in lows and hi's. All my tracks could use another mix, lol, oh well!
this is very kool brother.. got a trippy primal scream feel to it... or early chemical brothers..a solid track with it roots in the 90's electro loved the vocals.. theres some very nice production going on here.. always liked your stuff haven't listened to much since I've been back here on looperman.. gonna check out some more when I get time.. keep 'em coming brother
I wasn't aware you were away, which says something about the volume of traffic here, doesn't it? First, welcome back brother! Second, thanks for the encouraging words on this one, and I look forward to your feedback on others. I'll certainly be visiting your music again, sooner than later! Cheers.
firstly I gotta say trance aint my cup 'o tea but.. I liked this as much as I could trance.. those vocals need that high end trimmed at times they get a little too much also there are a few small timing issues at times... sorry probably not what you wanted to read but I have to be honest cause thats my style .. theres your review brother.. now remember to pass it on.. keep 'em coming
That's exactly what I wanted to read. I love when people can pinpoint problems in the track that I missed. I'll eq the vocals later this week, I didn't even think to do that, and I'll also put a volume automation on them. The timing issues are just lazyness on my part, plain and simple. I didn't want to chop all the vocals apart, so I left them as is and used the bpm from the acapella. Thanks again for the advice!
house step eh? I like it.. but I keep quiet around jahknow dubstep's his baby ya know!! tee hee... this is a nice track .. some of the wobbles are nice but just need a bit of thickness because those vocals are so thick you need some to compliment them.. makes a nice change to hear new refreshing sounds..nice keep 'em coming brother
some nice ideas here brother.. can totally hear those influences creeping in there.. thats about all I can say about it.. its well produced to a point but I can't give you proper feedback or advice if I don't know what your using to make you music.. your profile is empty brother.. try updating it .. maybe add a description to your track if your english aint good then just write it in your mother tongue theres sure to be plenty of people here that speak it.. sorry side tracked.. as I say nice but thats all I can say.. keep 'em coming .. remember you get out what you put in
firstly I have to say trance ain't my thing really.. but having said that I did enjoy listening to this.. that break down at 3:28 ish needs to be longer take it down to the wire then bang knock their heads off you know?... nice track brother well produced for the most part maybe the high end could come down abit but thats just me picking holes.. keep 'em coming brother
wow.. not the hardcore I remember.. was into the whole happy hardcore thing back in the day 88/94.. I do have one question what separates hardcore from trance?.... this track is well produced but screaming out for a vocal.. nice keep 'em coming
thanks for your review..to answer your question, it really does depend on personal enjoyment genre wise, i think what seperates hardcore from trance is that trance is slower, for a start, and has occuring basslines, where as hardcore is much faster and the bassline is just a boing boing appost to a boing b boi b boing boing..if ya follow? lol..
do you know I really miss this sound..i av gotta have a go at doing this genre.. for me this track is just missing that far away moody sax or trumpet throughout rather than just at the end.. nice thanks for the trip down memory lane i'm off to dig out my tricky albums.. keep 'em coming
this is a good track after reading the other reviews I was surprised.. I'm not sold on the whole trance snyth over the top though but that maybe just me I'm not a big fan of the sound.. I do like the bridges without it though.. very groovy well produced eletro.. nice .. keep 'em coming brother
there are some nice ideas here brother... just a little too much like chill out to be dnb what bpm is it in? don't get me wrong I enjoyed listening it is a well produced tune.. a little samey in places but that's livable because of the chilled out atmosphere which is quite uplifting.. nice track.. keep 'em coming
there are some nice ideas here brother.. but for me the tracks doesn't have that flow of dubstep maybe try adding some ride in 16th's maybe that might help.. I can see where your coming from with the trancey elements and it all works together it just needs a little more drive.. keep 'em coming brother
Thanks Numberjack for your review.I understood you about genre. Some of my friends at here said samething.Choosing a genre isn't my skill , i learned this.I decided to more carefully next time. Thanks again for listening and reviewing.
peace
some nice ideas here brother.. its a little thin on the ground as far as bass is concerned... maybe add a little more sub.. the atmosphere is there but it just needs something else... the track is nicely produced all clean sounds.. I enjoyed it don't get me wrong.. nice track.. keep 'em coming brother
some great ideas here brother.. I too am with sn76 .. for me though its quite generic.. I would maybe add some extra sounds and an atmosphere kinda think out side the box ya know? all in all well produced except for those high ends .. nice .. keep 'em coming
some nice ideas brother.. all most a underground dnb sound going on in here.. I would have liked to hear a little more sub but other than that it's a perfect track that is very individual.. nice .. keep 'em coming brother
I'm a huge NIN fan... this is a fantastic version of a brilliant song.. I don't have any criticism at all and for me that is rare.. have you posted it on remix nin .com? get any feed back some times trent pops in there you know.. excellent brother.. keep 'em coming
Thanks that mean allot coming from a big NIN fan, I'm happy you liked it. Ya I've posted a few tracks there, as well nin.com. It was hard for me to get people to listen to my tracks though. That would be so sick if Trent commented, its my dream lol
some great ideas here.. some time the vocal slips in timing but to be honest that doesn't matter because thats so easily fixable it's not really worth mentioning.. the sounds you've used remind me of Marrakesh in the morning busy bustling .. just lovely.. nice .. keep 'em coming brother
some nice ideas here brother.. the basses have the perfect wobble to them and the right thickness.. to be honest I think it isn't far from perfect.. I would mix up that drum a little more and maybe add a little more synth but thats just me being picky.. nice keep 'em coming brother
some very cool ideas here.. using the nasa recording as a pad is inspired.. the beats for me work but the production on them needs a little work to make them really sizzle.. that viola is a nice sound but it needs to be a little wider in the mix... nice track .. I enjoyed the listen.. keep 'em coming
some nice idea here .. when you started playing around with those glitch synths the whole thing starts to come together but it does end quite quickly..but like you've said it seems you had an upload problem.. the whole track just seems to be lacking something not quite sure what it is so... nice track.. keep 'em coming brother
I actually made the track for a friend of mine to rap on. But he is slow on projects so I uploaded it to be reviewed. I hope with vocals this track will be complete but Maybe I should do more synth also. Thanks for the review that helps alot......
there are some nice ideas here brother.. not really dubstep.. can I ask why you put it in this genre.. this track has got a primal scream vibe to it very chill out all most.. the production is ok the scratch needs to come down in the mix it's the loudest thing in the track.. nice I enjoyed the listen.. keep 'em coming brother
Hi at first i want to thank you 4 the review, about the genre you're trough it's better chill out for this one, but i was so excited when i have finish the track and for me it was important only to upload! Cheers
thanks man, put a lot of time into making this one as good as i'm able to. after giving it a fresh listen this morning i decided the breakdown was a bit weak so i tweaked that a bit, changed the levels and effects on some of the bass synths, and messed with a few of the transitions to make it a bit smoother. hope you'll let me know if i did the right thing here or not lol.
take it easy man,
