i think your music is some of the best stuff going and really admire your work, so i will step out a little and say i find this is a disturbing piece - cold and architectural - a triumph of the will that separates the heart from the cerebrum. i love it.
EDIT: Far, far from mechanical - only a human could sound so strangely turmoiled.
Please do bear in mind that these comments are observations on one specific track - i find that your music (certainly including this track) provides many insights on the spectrum of the human condition.
Hey!
How do you analyse this! I'm surprised, but it's really that ! I'm an orientalist in my way of life, and an european for the way of living in my daily life.
Yes, here is in such a way, a contrast of 2 ways I live together.
It's difficult to integrate emotion in music if this music id too much mechanical. I try to let some human presence, even if it's not obvious.
Thanks for your kind words.
gotta echo Wayne, the 'spooky' riff is a great launchpad - to these ears, some of the free-est 'for fun' playing i've heard from you and it's a real pleasure
I guess the Signs show he really didn't know What Women Want. Sounds like this Maverick is out for Payback though. I should have named this track The passion of the fruit. Mel call works though. Funny how Mel sounds like a screemo singer.
Thanks for replying.
You have to know that I like creating variations all along my pieces. The most difficult is not to had the music in my head, but to realise it. If I have not the files, I produce them with my Yamaha keybord (MIDI channel). But the job is never finished. I listen to my music around 20 or 30 times making modifications in tempo or in the choice of instrument.
But finally, even if many efforts are given, the result is also difficult to obtain.
For me, the job is NEVER finished, and perfection is impossible.
Thanks much
really dig this track - the vocal doubling is terrific and so understated it makes me listen twice - the aco production is a total inspiration, man - gtr, harp, kora in these ears.
beautiful music - respect
haven't heard the source track but based on this set of dubs i need to track that down - i dig each of these fruit dubs almost equally but gotta land on this one - i like yr 'live' stylins so much it's really cool to hear you in the lab too. these tracks work for these old ears
greetings micheal! thank you for reviewing. i myself am leaning tword this one. my freind i very much appreciate the time you put in listening and reveiwing my sonic ramblings. if ever you want a 320kps of any tracks of mine, hit me up on my profile contact. i will ship it off directly.
bless!
Thanks Michael for the great complement.I do like this style...feel good stuff.I myself can't get enough funky music and it is the most fun to play...I actually smile when I do.
Thanks Michael_Strokes, but what I launch on this site has to be light, 'cause of the weight of the files (max 5 Mo). The original music (it's the case for all) is longer and richer, because there are other instruments palying and many diffÃÂrent sounds giving a special space to it.
It's possible to hear this a my sell space on http://nicrunicuit.free.fr.
You'll see the difference.
StÃÂphane! This kills me from start to the mag fadeout - funny sexy and deadpan cool lyric performance - the backing is so right, nervy in the sense of the best big gtr powerpoop - i'm talking like really early Cheap Trick (in color / in black and white) where the lead is fun and not wanking and the rhythm gtr chops yr legs off. i know i've griped at you about drums on an earlier reload, but i think there's a lot going for the drum track on this one - esp the cymbal rides! well, hopefully you can see you've made me pretty dang happy to listen to this track!!
enjoy/kill - love/hate - really i think you are beyond that constricted spectrum - hell, even if 'i' as a construct don't 'like' a particular track or a sound within that track there is always something of greater interest occurring - hypercontextual as always
Yes, I agree with your opinion. I've discovered that what we love or not depends on humour, and the situations we live at a precious time.
Don't worry, Enjoy/kill means also :"Yes, today, I'm (not) able to listen to this or that...
Thanks
review + fav = 28jun210 set - not a prof re these genres, but this is the sh*t far as i'm concerned - boxes shredded, presets deleted, cats at the wheel - these tracks are wild things
i love to listen to a whole set of music by an artist - what used to be called a side - this fav applies to the jun2010 tracks as a set - very rewarding and i think more interesting to listen this way - these tracks have a cumulative impact, a serious/playful identity at work - great compositions.
I make the same thing, by listening a max of music for each musician, and in your case, I find your music is (I don't know the exact word) 'mature', like a fruit on a tree ready to be taken and eaten.
Thanks !
like what yr doing, man - admire this production, def takes a few listens to hear all that's going on. ok, 3rd play - i'm floored brother - compact complex groovy music - and the trombones kill
Yeah, my composition theory is to start with something good and try to make it progressively better as the song goes on. Doesn't always work, but that's what I attempt to do. Since this song started out with a great riff, it wasn't hard to flesh it out a bit by emphasizing certain elements. Glad you liked it...
As always, thanks for the listen and review ~ I do appreciate it, bro.
