Cool, relaxing atmosphere, a bit, jazzy, a bit psychedelic, a bit middle eastern. The bird chirped out of key at 1:38 though, lol. Where is Ravi Shankar when you need him, a little sitar here and there would be a cool touch.
I certainly hope you're right about the mix lol. Still, most of us aren't trying to make money off the stuff we're uploading here. So if you're not trying to make music from the heart, what's the point?
This, to me, has a space theme to it. It's sounds are spacious, lots of movement and wondrous sounding. Some ambient music sounds like water or a forrest or a walk thru a jungle but this one has that space feel to it.
Thanks Wayne - I know what you mean about the space theme but I called in night rain because we have had constant flooding rain here - the heaviest ever and I worked on it when I woke up in the middle of the night : )
Nothing like a simple acoustic song. Strings uplift any song but especially here, heavenly! Nice lyrics. The other singer/songwriter in my old band used to write songs just like this so no complaints here!
Yup, you crushed the vocal track, lol! Slow tempo adds to the drudgery of the song, like you are walking through a quagmire of filth and destruction. A dark and menacing theme for sure.
The pads and synths are very well done and they compliment the vocal which sits in a sea of reverb. Nice changes with some neat dynamics to help make the song much more interesting. The drums do the job and don't need to do more than carry the beat, there is enough going on rhythmically that they can take it easy on this track.
Gracias por tus comentarios amigo Wayne, he querido dejar el protagonismo a la voz y solo arroparla con una base de sintetizadores y sonido trance. Estoy contento si lo he logrado. Buen dÃa amigo. Paz y salud.
DCD has put out some interesting and unique music. Only have 1 disc of theirs but impressed with their arrangements and production. I can see why you would be drawn to them and try to move towards that.
This is along their feel for music, very cinematic, as I think their music is. It's a bit dark and distant at times, helps with the mood.
From the first note I was hooked! Very cool, the funky music with the cool, modern vocals. There is a crossover feel to the track, this should appeal to a wide variety of music lovers. The woman's vocals were a nice touch too.
I saw that movie a while ago, great how it shows how talented studio musicians, in a great room, in the middle of nowhere can make some of the greatest music ever produced. Amazing!
Cool intro, upbeat with the percussion and the piano chords just chilling. The synths are holding their own, expressive like a guitar solo. Nice licks and effects on them. A toe tapper Fila! The horns are perfect for the track.
Yo theHumps thanks for taking a listen appreciated. I to was amazed as I watch that movie. Tight knit rhythm section-amazing what came out of there and how. Let me go and find some loops!!! Fila
Dramatic intro, sets the mood. Then it's the calm before the storm and the tension builds up. Operatic piece, emotional, tells a story. Nicely put together.
Heya Fila, been a while but I remember all your tasty musical tidbits! Nice rhythm groove to set a bed for the sax and keys to do their thing. Hope all is going well.
Whoa it's thehumps. Good to see some of my ole buds still here kicking out some tunes. Thanks for stopping by trying to get a little groove back. Always enjoyed this place and peep's. Man I had some fun here. Mixing up some loops now hope to pop another one soon! All Good Here Take care Fila
This is a cool idea, mix is fine. Vocal track is nice. A bit busy in spots but I like it. I agree a lot of what Ed said about guitar placement. Personally, I always play/record way more than what is necessary then edit out what doesn't work or what interferes with the singing.
Hey Wayne - playing too much is the only way I end up with anything to use but I often find it hard to edit it down once the more obvious errors are axed!
This works for me, hard rock with some elements of electronic music in a loose arrangement of neat hooks and changes with some vox samples to add interest. There are some moments in there that just are smoking hot, well done! Great idea!
I agree with so many of the comments that have been posted about this one. Driving, intense, beat. I can picture a movie where someone driving a car, all jacked up, is shown, face sweating, eyes darting, wheels flying, rain pouring as the windshield wipers slap to the tempo, cinematic in some way.
Interesting to read you are not all in on this one. Hope all is well in your life, take care Spiv!
Wayne, so glad to see you chime in on one of my newer works!
I don't drive, but the person behind my wheel was definitely jacked up... I understand what you mean. Interesting that you find it cinematic, I had not thought of that!
My life is balancing out, even if it's not what I'd hoped for. Thank you for the care!
This is different, the spoken word vocals and a world music music track, can't say you hear that all the time. The lyrics are cool, all of them. You are trying something new, innovative, I'm sure there are things you're not too sure on because it's different. To me it's a gut feeling you have to have when you try something different and need to make some decisions.
Hey thanks for listening Wayne - seems most people dont like it - never mind - Im pretty happy with it actually - although Im not sure if it might be better without the vox - I do think that words usually add more to a track than not. Who was it who said lyrics are a trick to get people to listen to music - that's somewhat true I reckon : )
At first I started out to make this track "Opera-ish.
It blew chunks lol. I'm glad I got the chance to hook up with Micky and use the idea of more of a Rock type theme.
Thanks for your listen and comments.
I couldn't agree more about Patricia, she is one of the most talented people here at the loop. Everyone who played on this did a wonderful job!
Mix is solid, just the right amount of compression giving all the instruments their space while also giving the track enough punch. The song is sweet, who wouldn't like this?
Hey thanks Wayne - the title was somewhat how Ive been feeling about coming down with covid and the whole current situation with everyone's life in some kind of limbo ... you dont know what youve got till its gone hey
The vst effects pedal I used for this is from Neural DSP - lots of metal stuff from them but also some nice delays and reverbs and other things to play with - expensive to buy though nice to trial : )

Solid mix, the guitar lead rocks! Guitars have a thick tone. Nothing wrong with a blues progression. Vox sound good, well mixed as well!
Take care!

TYVM bud. BDEm on this one. With this progession, it's easy to settle into the song while playing. Thanks for the listen.
