This is pretty cool! To me it's alt rock, reminds me a bit of a band called Belly(and it's off shoot bands). I like the vocals, neat effects on them. Pretty decent track!
Nice track! Simple songs are the best. I like the guitar and the vocals, they work together nicely.
If you plan to go back into this I would try lowering the volume on the vocals a bit and add some more reverb to get them to sit in the mix a little more. The reverb should spread the vocals out, boost them a bit and make them fit in better with the instruments. Just my suggestion.
Different and interesting, some neat sounds. Keep trying out different things. These daws are so full of cool plugins, sounds and effects that it's mind boggling sometimes. Have fun!
Hey Wayne! Thanks, mate! You're so right. At the end of the day making music is about having fun and exploring new things. It truly is amazing what we can do nowadays with a few clicks on a computer.
Great transitions between the parts, that stood out most to me. The ending part was a bit of a departure from the rest of the track but I have no issues with it. I couldn't tell you what Italian Club music is but I like to eat an Italian club sandwich. I mean, who doesn't?
Mix was solid, track was interesting. Good, distinct parts.
This, to me, has a beach feel to it. If I were to be laying on the sand at the beach with the sound of ocean waves crashing, this is what I would want to be hearing playing on the portable stereo. And maybe some Bob Marley, he.
Cool man! You and the King have been lighting it up with the jazz lately. Neat song, nice dynamics. Guitars fit so well and the dude can play! Well done on the mix, hmmmm, lo fi jazz.
Wane, I try hard to make the production make sense. You are correct about KING. He is doing some serious Jazz. I try to encourage the younger guitar players that practice does make perfect, and repetition makes Genius. My headphones tricked me on the lofi.LOL Will stop by. PEACE. T576 OUT.
This is relaxing and chilled out. I think even if you hadn't added the vox track it would be solid as an instrumental. But the vocals add a nice dimension and another layer of interests. Nice one Ella!
As I have no idea of what a Kanye beat is I can't really make any comparisons or comment on that aspect of your description of the track.
I do like the drums and percussion, not your typical drum kit. The horns are expressive and they all work together nicely. There's certainly enough interesting bit going on!
A nice song traz! Sure, pop works and to me this would sound cool in a film showing a passage of time or time lapse photography. The mix is nice and clear too.
Sure, this works for a decent earful! Creative piece of spacey, electronic mind tripping music. Good music for a documentary on space or the universe or a music and picture collage. Well done !
It's great how just a vocal with one instrument can be so powerful. I always say, the best songs are the simplest. Nice recording, nice effects on the vox, nice lyrics too!
The groove is fantastic, first of all. Your vocal sample is fine. Phones record well these days and to transfer the file onto a computer and into your daw is easy peasy. Keep messing around with it, you will figure it out. I like this kinda music when I oil or watercolor paint, just let it keep looping in the background for hours. Nice one!
I'm really happy you liked it Wayne. I might explore the possibility of singing in the future but right now I'm too intimidated and my voice is not very well trained. But the feedback I've gotten gives me hope.
You do oil and watercolor? My father was a painter, did both as well. The house always smelled of turpentine lol.
I especially like the tremolo on the guitar. Kinda spacey, a bit trippy. Not a big fan of the drums but i do like the overall feel and atmosphere of the track. Vox sound decent in the mix, interesting lyrics too.
Kind of a slinky, jazzy funk. Smelly? It doesn't stink at all! ;) Good tv theme styled music, Huggy Bear would've liked this on as he strolled thru the hood. he
This is very cool, ethereal, spacey, trippy, psychedelic...
Vox sound great, they sit in the mix rather than stand out in front of it. Panning instruments with freq's that interfere with the vox to each side helps make them stand out without having to turn them up. Reverb, I find, helps sit them in a mix and can also bring some volume. I like how you mixed them here!
Wow! Fantastic track, energetic, crazy at times and certainly an earful! Almost has a Depeche Mode feel to it, which to me means it's very cool. Great intro, cool sounds that sucked me in, instantly. Great track!
Paz y salud.
Pretty cool mix, it's compressed enough, I can hear all the instruments fine. The track has a mellow, sultry feel to it and some cool, textural elements in it. Neat tremolo effect on the piano too. Nice job Ella! Enjoy the Attic!
I'm not exactly in an attic but it's close enough. It's on a second story above the garage with a window in front of me so it feels like one. I actually wish I could have my studio in an attic and hence the name. I love attics.
This is nice, strong piano track. Did you by chance use any of the piano plugins from Ableton or from in the Packs? I haven't been able to get a solid piano sound from within Ableton. Just wondering what you used.
Hey Wayne, so glad you enjoyed. No I didn't use any of the packs for the piano on this one. I used Pianoteq Studio. But I did use Ableton's grand piano hybrid pack for quite a while.
The only advice I can give is based on my personal experience. But what I did was built a custom instrument rack for the Ableton piano and attach a few stock plugins to it. Then I just set that to favorites, so I'd always use my pre-set.
I'd EQ 8 and boost a high shelf, (Not too subtly either, 2 or 3 db) a little light compression, saturator with drive boosted a bit, then reverb/delay. Just the reverb on its own will make a huge difference, piano really benefits from a sense of space.
Enjoyed the percussion, it set an early feel as to where the track was to go. Neat soundscape you've created, the vocal snippets are a cool add. World music I would call this.
